Ok if you've ever played The Quarry, you know where this is going.
If you haven't, here's a recap: (if you've already played or are familiar, feel free to skip. You don't have to read any of this, you can just watch a youtube trailer of The Quarry game, and you'll be filled in. This is not a lore extensive game, it's literally a werewolf thing. I only posted a history, as it's a very interesting story.)
Six years ago, two of the Hackett family's youngest set fire to a freakshow that camped near town. Their intent was to free "Silas the Wolf Boy" from his exhibit cage in the freakshow, but it backfired. They set a fire as a distraction, and in the ensuing confusion, the majority of the show were killed, including Silaz' mother. Once freed, he bit Caleb Hacket. Caleb then bit his sister Kaylee, and their dad Chris, who runs the Hackett Quarry Summer Camp. Even since then the three of them have been cursed with a form of lycanthropy. Over the years, Chris' brother Sheriff Travis Hackett (played fabulously by Ted Raimi) has used his influence and power as town Sheriff to cover up the deaths of missing hikers and a journalist that have trespassed at the wrong time. His one line he hasn't crossed all this time has been murder, and he refuses to do so, thanking the powers that be that it hasn't come to that yet.
The camp, despite the dangers to the kids, continues to open every year like clockwork. During the full moons for the two months, my guess is they keep the kids inside with warnings about vicious bear sightings, or hunting season.
Personality wise, Travis is surly, sarcastic, prone to a great deal of eye rolling, and very stern with outsiders. His mother, played by Lin Shaye is incredibly verbally abusive as his elderly mother who runs the family with an iron fist. Travis isn't used to kindness, praise or anyone making an effort to understand or reason with him. He uses his authority as a shield between himself and others. The family takes advantage of Travis and Chris seems a bit lax now that he's gotten used to the status quo, despite the risks to people that might pass through.
About me: I am a long time roleplayer (over ten years) I am looking for someone willing to take on this character. I am looking for someone over eighteen, I cannot roleplay with anyone underage, despite conforming to the forum rules completely. I took a break from roleplay, every time I'd post an ad, someone would take it and do the exact opposite of the request, or would post once then disappear for a couple of months. I am not looking for someone online 24/7, but would like someone who would enjoy the idea of a werewolf plot, without using it as a means of getting members.
About You: I do not care about your roleplaying 'experience' You do not have to post novels, I don't care about length, I'm more of a quality over quantity type person. If you want Travis to be younger than his canon fifty plus years, we can negotiate, as the game makes him look much younger, probably early to mid forties.
If you are interested in taking this character, but there is one hangup you have, feel free to message me, I am open to compromise, most things can be worked out. For instance, I am not averse to having one of our characters bitten, if that is something that interests you. Whatever it is, we can iron it out
