Personality: Chioran is a curious, naive girl who dreams of grand adventures and fantastical stories. Ever since she learned of Alatoa, it has been her greatest desire to not only see this strange foreign world with her own eyes, but to save it from the cruelty of reality with her own power as a hero of her personal fairytale. After all, she was one of the chosen ones, wasn't she... ?

    Weapon - Long Sword: Most weapons on Makuran are hand-me-downs given the distinct lack of blacksmiths on the island, and Chioran's is no exception. Exceptional maintenance as a family heirloom has allowed it to survive for as long as it has.

    Weapon - Knife: A multi-purpose knife.

    [Abilities]

    Blessing - Wyrm Tunnel: When Chioran unlocks her blessing, she will learn how to summon a magical gate through which a draconic familiar will emerge. She can imbue it with an element of magic that she has mastery over.

    Spell - Wind Wave: A strong blast of wind that can knock away a few people in a single gust, much more effective when her foes have their backs against a wall. She can combine this technique with a sword slash to give the wave cutting power, although it is quite slow and requires about a second or so of build up. Books on magical techniques are quite rare in Makuran so this was the only spell she was able to learn, although conversely this means that her control of this specific spell is virtually expert level.

    Skill - Swordplay: Chioran is quite adept with the blade, but like most Makurans, she has never seen real bloodshed or combat. Her talent is undeniable, but her lack of experience will test her worth on the battlefield.

Personality: If you looked at a crackling fire and gave it a humanoid vessel, it would be Konan. Hot to the touch and never still, the young man is easy to jump into action or in most cases, cause it. As he grew older, the fire grew with him -- harder to contain and harder to put out. From mischief maker to a growing threat bushfire hazard, he finds more comfort in hellfire than so-called allies.

    - Blessing: Fire Elemental Transformation - When unlocked, Konan becomes hellfire. His body burns away to a whirling tornado of heat and flame. The only thing one could recognise if it was Konan and not just a primordial beast, was his pair of floating eyes. Without proper mastery over this transformation, he is unable to tell between ally or foe.

    - Spell: Firefists - Ordinary* flames engulf his fists and enables him to have a chance to burn his targets with each punch successfully landed (* Not magical flame, can be put out with plain water)

    - Spell: Supernova - A self-destructive spell that causes Konan to explode -- charring his skin and encasing him in a petrified charcoal state. Those around him takes heavy fire damage, while causing ignitable surfaces around him to burn. He is vulnerable after a Supernova and takes time to recover.

    - Spell: Dragon Belch - Flame summoned from within his gullet and released with a burp. Flames are directed into a cone to whoever or whatever he is facing.

    Skill(s):
    - Martial artist: Brought up of the skill from his mother, but honed with the many scuffles he'd caused in Makuran, Konan is known to deliver swift barrage of punches that build up in power rather than one heavy hit.

Personality: Yrshta is a kind soul who seeks out freedom and adventure. She has a motherly nature about her despite never having children of her own, fawning over the children of others. It is very difficult to anger her but she can be very quick to defend if necessary. There is also a fierceness about her, allowing her wisdom to be more readily received in difficult situations. She is very easily swayed however by strangers as she tends to believe in the best of people.

    • A handmade bag that is attached to her waist. It has a string attached that she can pull with her feet in order to release the bag from her waist. If pulled again, it tightens the strap on the bag to secure it around her waist once more. The strap itself is made of a soft but durable material in the same dark green shade as most of her appearance. The bag itself is of a dark brown with green and gold interlacing at the edges of the sewing.​
    • Inside the bag are some medicinal herbs, bandages, and salves Yrshta made herself. She also has some berries for snacks, a handkerchief, scrap pieces of paper, and a long writing utensil. The utensil has ridges that make it easier to grab.​

    [Abilities]

    Spell(s):
    • Blessing - Call of the Ancestors: Unlocked, Yrshta gives a loud cry as she becomes a green bird with golden eyes and a brown underside. She grows in size in her bird form and is able to blow powerful gusts of wind using her wings. Her shriek is deafening in this form and she is able to have a greater range of vision. When the golden flecks on her feathers glow, she is able to disperse little orbs of light that fade the closer they get to the land. This form can be sustained so long as she is able to maintain concentration.
    • Spell - Feather Dance: In her Demihuman form, Yrshta can throw the feathers on her wings as projectiles, hardening them as they fly through the air. If deflected, they can crack into pieces.
    • Spell - Pleadings of the Wretched: Yrshta is able heal herself and grow new feathers. She can also heal others but it is not as effective and can require longer time to do the same amount of healing as it would be on herself.

    Skill(s):
    • Yrshta is able to fly with her wings. She can reach high altitude and has high stamina in keeping airborne. In battle however, she can grow tired more quickly and she is not so adept at dodging attacks she can't see.

Personality: Bhara is closed off and realistic about her expectations, especially when it comes to the world below them. She hasn't forgotten what drove their people to the skies, and considers any attempt at reconciliation a foolish endeavor. Her only motivation towards venturing out of Makuran lies in the desire to protect those who time has tricked into forgiveness, and finding a way back up once their attempts at diplomacy fail.

  • [Equipment]

    Weapon - Tower Shield: A well-maintained relic of an age of tolerance between Toren and mankind. Neglected in favor of more elegant fighting styles, and because Makuran has never had any need to defend itself from any opposition, Bhara's shield spent much of its time on the floating island being passively cared for by martial art instructors, along with many other remnants of the kind of defensive combat Alatoa once valued. It was bad luck and circumstance that led to her wielding it actively, but it'll take the earth splitting to tear it away.

    [Abilities]

    Blessing - Guardian Avatar: When realized, Bhara projects forward an avatar in her likeness, transparent and glowing the color of her eyes, and 5 meters tall. It moves as she does, as her mind inhabits both entities seamlessly. The avatar has the advantage of not feeling pain, but Bhara herself is left vulnerable to attack, as her perception is transferred entirely to the avatar.

    Spell - Momentus: The force behind a blunt attack is multiplied exponentially by the amount of charge-up Bhara gives it through charging and winding up her swing.

    Spell - Turtle Shell: A dome of stone that forms over the caster, ranging from as small as barely concealing a hunched-over figure to an entire troupe.

    Skill - Shield-Maiden: Without a primary weapon, all of Bhara's efforts towards learning a fighting style early in life were poured entirely into her shield, and adapting its use as both a means of protection, as well as an intimidating maul. What she lacks in speed she makes up for with sturdiness and blunt power, making her a veritable brute on the proverbial battlefield. How her style matches up to any real combat remains to be seen.

    Blessing - Noble Phantasm
    When unlocked, Luna can summon a physical phantom based on Makuran's mythical and historical figures. However, she can only summon one at a time and must have knowledge on the phantom of her choosing, including the blessing, otherwise it will not appear. Another downside is that the summoned phantoms retain their personalities, so there might be some who are willing to help or don't unless given reason.

    Spell - Song of Courage
    Sings a tune that boosts her allies physical and magical prowess and bravery to a high degree. Must keep singing for the boost to remain.

    Spell - Song of Love
    Sings a tune that makes her enemies fall in love with her (the exception being straight females).

    Spell - Song of Fear
    Sings a tune that strikes fear into her enemies' hearts (the exception are those who are TRULY not afraid).

    Spell - Song of Rest
    Sings a tune that puts her enemies in a deep sleep. May also affect her allies as well when not careful.

    Skill - Singing and Dancing
    To make up with her lack of combat skill, she can use her singing and dancing to bring morale to her allies and misfortune to her enemies. She can also play the flute, but is quite ineffective compared to her singing voice which is best described as "hearing the heavens lend aid and hell give pain".

Personality: Celine is a naturally distant person, much perferring to occupy herself with her inner thoughts over the company of others. She often keeps a distracted, curious look about her, as if she is looking out and examining at something unseen. Despite this, she can be rather fanatical and spontaneous at times, especially when concerning her magics.

    A worn, tattered cloak- A tattered brown cloak, moth eaten and sun bleached. A well kept heirloom of The Order of Seekers that was bestowed to Celine as a gift. The cloak, when worn, gives unto Celine enhanced speed and a protection from the elements. When worn, Celine feels as if she is standing on a wind swept, temperate beach, providing her comfort in even the coldest nights. It also smells faintly of salt water.

    Celine has seen the truth of the world, and shattered through the velvety intangible blanket that coats the minds of every person. Celine can see this world, which she has named "The Crag," only through her right eye. She gained this ability by gouging out and subsequently replacing said eye, blinding her from the real world in that eye, but allowing her to comprehend and visualize The Crag.

    Call upon the ancient locksmiths technique, and touch an individual to temporarily lock them from their own mind, restricting thought and disabling any magic from being cast for 10 seconds.
    Required Materials: A lost iron key.
    Rites Required to Cast: The light through the keyhole, a very simple rite spoken in an ancient tongue that takes mere moments to cast.

    Fm'latghor, Betrayed Watchman's Light.
    Call upon the long dead Lantern keeper from the depths of The Crag to enchant a lit candle, granting Celine clarity of mind, and the ability to see through darkness's she otherwise would not be able to see through. This spell does not actually create light, instead affecting and clearing the mind.
    Required Materials: A lit wax candle.
    Rites Required to Cast: The Thunderous Secret, a simple rite spoken in English that takes mere seconds to speak.

    kadishtuor, The Bigger Picture.
    Commune with a spirit of The Crag through a painting. This communion is not spoken, nor is it thought, and can only be remembered after the communions end. These spirits often have little to say of importance, and only really respond to deep seated emotions.
    Materials Required: A Portrait Painting
    Rites Required to Cast: NONE

    lloigehye, Flight of the White Dove.
    Summon the will of The Crag's only denizen, the dove, and summon a flock of 6 doves from the depths of the secret world. These doves fly off into the world, and after 10 minutes of their departure, summons extremely strong winds from The Crag. These winds effect any lands beneath the doves flight path, and persist for 3 minutes. Only those with extreme strength or a comprehension of The Crag can move against these winds, and any projectiles shot, be they magical or mundane, always are redirected to follow the direction of the wind.
    Required Materials: A Feather from a Dove, A bundle of withered leaves, a bundle of snow.
    Rites Required to Cast: An unhealthy Dedication, an advanced rite spoken in English found only in ancient books and scrolls. This rite takes a couple of seconds to cast.

    gn'bthnknyth, The Package of Flesh and Blood.
    Call upon the fading magic of the recently deceased, only visible in the depths of the Crag, and manipulate the bonds of fresh meat. This meat can be bound to Celines body to rapidly heal wounds and replace lost body parts. Alternatively, Celine may form this flesh into a new form and bestow upon it life, turning it into the mindless minion, Percussigant.
    Materials Required: A recently deceased corpse, A goblet of wine. (If summoning a Percussigant, needs an additional rite of the heart, a relic found only in ancient libraries.)
    Rites Required to Cast: The Watchmans Sorrow, an advanced rite spoken in an ancient tongue that takes intense concentration and a minute of time.

    nglui mgepmgnnn, The Blank Canvas.
    A spell specifically crafted by Celine herself that calls upon both the dead lantern keeper and the disgraced locksmith. This spell allows Celine to completely empty the mind of anyone she touches temporarily, rendering that person incapable while she has contact. Celine may also impart onto the canvas any thought or idea of her own onto the target not as thoughts or ideas, but as a painting that embodies these thoughts and ideas. The Blank canvas may call upon the spell Kadishtuor to further their understandings of the paintings within their own minds.
    Materials Required: A blank piece of paper, A lit candle, A lost iron key.
    Rites Required to Cast: A custom rite Celine has titled "The empty space beneath the characters." It is a combination of rites spoken in both English and an ancient tongue, and takes upwards of 10 minutes to speak.

    The Forbidden Tongue: Celine is well versed in the forgotten, ancient language spoken only in secret. This language has no public record of ever existing, even up in the sky islands high above.

    Lanterns Insight: Celine has access to deep troves of knowledge on the nature of magic, and is able to see the latent magical power within people through The Crag.

    Locksmith Attunement: Due to Celine's history and understanding with the locksmiths magics, she is able to pick most locks, be they mundane or magical. She is also very proficient at stealth.

    How this blade achieved this state is lost to time. While normally blades are able to be dated due to the telltale signs of weathering and patterns, this specific blade has it's age unknown. It could have been as young as a decade, or as old as 5 centuries. What is certain about the blade though is that its durability is remarkable - throughout its use, it hasn't chipped nor dulled once. The glowing cracks on the sword, while giving off the impression of molten steel, is actually just warm to the touch.

    Master Swordsman

    He has spent years training both in the dojo and on the streets. While his training did much to allow him to best the novices who wield blades, it is the experience from years of vigilantism in Quiol that allowed him to be one of if not the best swordsman in the city. Rarely does he ever lose a fight, and never has anyone bragged on defeating the "Outsider" in a duel - those who faced him alone has always had their thumbs either cut deeply or cut off entirely, such is his precision. No one can wield a sword or a tool without their thumbs, so anyone who lost against the outsider would lose their ability to fight.

    Skilled Archer
    He is skilled enough with a longbow to shoot a target the size of a cantaloupe from 100 meters. He rarely brings his bow though, so this skill is rarely used or practiced.

    Item(s): Carries two swords, a longsword and a shortsword, and a shield. On his person, he wears a worn coat gambeson with a set of chestplate and pouldrons on top and chainmail beneath. Finally, to complete the set, on his hands, he wears a pair of gauntlets that, much like the rest of his gear, had been battered and repaired time and time again. Then, hanging off his belt, there is his helmet, decorated with a red feather. Only this is brand new, a recent gift he took great care to keep undamaged for as long as he possibly could.

    Spell(s):

    Healing - Capable of closing wounds near instantaneously and cure minor diseases, though it cannot restore lost limbs or heal fatal wounds.

    Reinforcement - A magic used to strengthen the sturdiness of the objects it was applied to threefold. Can be applied to people as well.

    Skill(s):

    Master of Arms - Trained from a young age, Aurelius has basic mastery of all conventional weapons, though far from top class in any single instrument, he is most certainly able to wield anything that can be used to beat someone over the head with efficiency.

Personality: Kaira is often calm thoughtful and caring. Most times she doesn't speak, leaving her silence to answer the questions, or often letting a spirit use her voice to the world (even if she doesn't know she does this). Most people consider her mute, but she is more shy and reclusive but wanting to change that about herself

    [Abilities] Blessing: Rhythm of Spirits - While dancing Kaira can call upon a spirit to aid her. Each spirit does a buff or debuff.
    Karsilama Waterfalls - summons a water spirit that protects Kaira and her allies by blocking some damage from physical (and understandable magical) damage
    Cherokee Butterfly Tornado - summons a wind spirit that slows down enemies b surround them in wind vortexes.
    Capoeria by Hearth - Summons an earth spirit to empower her allies bodies in strength and power.
    Chi of Whirling Flames - summons a fire spirit to adding DOT fire to allies bodies and/or weapons (can also create light to see)
    This dance will summon a life spirit that will heal wounds over time, though very slowly

    Spell(s): Song of Life - Singing a little tune she can heal simple wounds
    Stomp of Earth - Doing an incantation and doing a dancer's stomp can cause ripples in the earth that can create small fissures
    Clap of Wind - A small gust of air blows out from her hands which can move a person backwards
    Snapping Sparks - A snap causes a small fireball to fly out.
