Academy of Magic

The school is where people with magic power that reach 16, will be gathered by the country, and will have to undergo two years of strict education at the dorms. The school is run by the country, and it’s the largest one of its kind. Within its gigantic campus, besides the school itself, there’s also student and teacher dorms, as well as various magic research facilities and other structures.

The country sponsored the school with splendid facilities because people with magical power, and the magic they wield are considered important national treasures. In other countries, there are very few people that are born with magic power. It’s not zero, but it seems to be rare. In comparison to other countries, Cathonia has more people born with magic power, and the country raises them to be the best. That’s why their country has put so much into developing everyone’s magic power.

If a person is recognized for having powerful magic, they’ll be granted power just below that of the king’s, and will receive position in the powerful organization similar to a ministry of magic. Each year, everyone with magic power that’s turned 16 is gathered but almost all nobles.

That’s right, even though the country has more magic users than other countries, it’s almost entirely made up of the nobility and other people with high social status.

Because of that, whether or not you have magic, and how good your magic is, can be considered a mark of noble status, having powerful magic can also get you adopted by the nobility, so by the time people reach 16, most of them will be enrolling in school as a noble though it’s not only nobles that have magic power. It’s really rare, but sometimes there are commoners that are also born with magic power. And so, commoners as well are required to enroll in magic school.

Technology

Technology in this world is certainly not as advanced as in the modern world.
For transportation they use carriages and horses.
Weapons are mainly swords, daggers, hammers, spears, etc.
They do have some gadgets than run on magic which are yours to discover.

God’s receptionist. She will check on you from time to time and might even give advice when the time is right. It also depends on how you maintain her relationship with her.

Claus Von Deik
The principal of the Academy of Magic. He is a great force to be reckoned with and is part of the Magic Council of the Kingdom. His affinity is wind.

King Herald Stronghold
The king of Cathonia. He is a wise man and made it so that the kingdom became prosperous in both magic and economy. A leader one looks up to. His affinity is fire.

Magic Weapons

Magical Weapons are not available for anyone to wield. The weapon chooses its owner and not the other way around. If you do proceed in wielding it without any kind of compatibility, the more difficult it will become. There is also the possibility of it shattering in your hands, meaning that this weapon will be gone forever. It requires mental strength and a greater mana pool to perfect the way you handle it which can take up years. Only a handful of wielders managed to do so in less than a year.

Current students with magic weapons:
> Elijah Belleville – Ancient sword (compatible due to the sheer willpower residing inside of him) – 47%
> Yekaterina Van der Zee – Nymph’s blessing (compatible due to her will to become stronger) – 17%

Mana

Mana is everywhere in the world. In order to use magic, one has to use the mana stored inside of them. The newer he is to this, the less he would be able to store inside of him. It will take some time before everything is restocked so don’t rush in mindlessly!

There is also mana control. That means controlling the mana particles around them which could help the import and export of mana through spells. This is a very difficult technique to learn and not many have truly mastered it. Principal Von Deik is one of those few people who managed to do so, hence why he can be seen as a great ally or a dangerous threat.

There is also the berserk state of mana. When the user completely loses their control, the mana will follow suit and go on a rampage. This will amplify the power behind the spell to a certain degree but not unstoppable as it will be full of openings.

Carthis is the official language of Cathonia, it is also used in several other kingdoms so one can go places with this language by itself.
