Faynorae
Great Maiden's Blush
A flower's petals, scattered on the crimson sill.
Ophenia twirled round, circling her head as she waited for Rowan to create a barrier to use as a bridge, looking for something. A flower. Ophenia laughed at Seven's confusion on her statement about the endearingness of the Owlbear. With a playful giggle, she turned to look in the bird's general direction. "Silly Seven, it's as cute as you are! Round and soft, I'm sure its fur and feathers are just as-" Ophenia stopped in her twirl. Stopped giggling. Stopped smiling. A fearful expression on her face, as she stared without blinking. "Oh." Ophenia let out, low and quiet in a murmuring tone. Sure, she did something similar, but this time it seemed different. Purposeful. Violent. Ophenia felt weak. She couldn't "fix" it if she wanted to. She looked away. Red. Bright Red. She couldn't imagine it herself, yet she wondered. What did the Owlbear feel in its last moments, if anything at all? She wanted to believe that this was a mistake.
Without delay and while trying to minimize her train of thought, Ophenia crossed the barrier and tried her best to keep up with the others.
At last, they had reached their desired location. Ophenia smiled ever so slightly, their guide must be having the worst day ever. Looking down at the spiders skittering along the river, as they tried to look for a narrow and shallow part of it to reach across to their master's domain. Ophenia almost felt excited, nearly forgetting what occurred prior. As well as what happened to cause this situation. The fae suddenly felt guilty for wanting to smile. On the other hand, Ophenia felt exhausted from the constant physical exertion. Sweat trickled down her cheeks as she heavily breathed in and out. A sort of relief came about as she thought of how this might be the end of all the incessant running.
As Finn stated that the group would have to hurry, Ophenia watched the knight slide down the slope and run in between the two spiders. The fae observed. A sudden rush of disbelief ran over her face. Finn was indeed intending to bring harm to the Spiders. Why would one want to do such a thing? Was he "corrupted"? Was one of her friends, someone Ophenia wished to be happy, a being in need of "cleansing"? There wasn't much she could do to stop him, but Ophenia knew for a fact that she could only do one thing. Shaking, she took a deep breath. She felt nervous. Ophenia took out her resonator, and with the tips of her fingers, she activated it. A dim glimmer, as it hovered above her palm. It shined with a dark desaturated olive colour.
Ophenia then clumsily ran down the grade, being slightly careful of falling over. The resonator fluttered right behind her. Maybe this time, she wouldn't do anything that would be detrimental to the group. This time, she actually wanted to be helpful. Once she had made it to the bottom of the grade, she'd breathe out. Moving a bit more forward, Ophenia took another breath. holding her hands to her chest. "Breathe in. Breathe out." The fae would mutter to herself.
Ophenia then suddenly smiled brightly. Anyone insightful enough would be able to see how feint it was. The resonator stayed in an olive hue, dimly glimmering.
