hi so, apologies up front if this is completely blasphemous < 3

i used to rp a lot back in the day, but since then ive taken a completely different creative direction that im like much happier with? when i rped, i was aways like super big into like ooc talk and developing the universe and planning everything out, but once we got past the miles worth of prep work, things usually fizzled out pretty quickly bc most people cannot realistically match my level of absolute obsession when it comes to writing.

im primarily a screenwriter now, and im mainly looking for???? people with whom i can hash ideas out with, we can share writing, maybe try working on a project together...??? something like that !! i love being socially creative with others (even though my overall current writing style probably wouldn't lend very well to roleplaying) and im mainly just looking for writer buds. is this a fitting place for me? i frequented rpn like... 2016 - 2019- i met some really cool people in my day and i know there are a lot of overlapping vibes here !!! ,,, however id rather not accidentally commit sacrilege </ 3

I would say that RPNation is an excellent creative outlet. People post their artwork, creative writing, etc. here. Personally, I don't treat roleplaying as "a game" as a lot of people do. I find the experience to be more enjoyable as a joint-creative writing exercise between two people. I like to lay out the foundations of a story and then present it to another individual. As said individual traverses through my world, vaguely guided by a storyline, they will challenge me to develop and flesh out the world more. As that happens, the story evolves. To rearticulate, my "roleplays" are essentially (auto)biographies of characters in a world that I create. A collection of stories and interactions that help shape the world.

I think that RPN will be an excellent place for you and a great community to challenge your creativity.

cl0ud said it already, but yes, this is a great place for creativity.

Whether you're a writer, artist, role-player, or whatever, there's a place for basically everyone if you know where to look in the forums and threads posted for all of them.

I myself have been quite interested in screenwriting for a good while, but have never really been able to come up with a story idea that fits properly in a screenwriting format. I'm more a novel writer than a screenplay writer. But I attribute that to a lack of experience rather than a lack of want or drive to get better. I still have screenwriting software (Final Draft 11, to be exact), and I'm definitely eager to jump on any excuse to practice if you're looking for a writing buddy or someone to just bounce ideas off of. If nothing else I could definitely help with analyzing your stories, characters, and overall presentation of your ideas.

If you're at all interested feel free to hit me up and share whatever you're comfortable sharing with me!

Cheers!
