Is an ogre woman, standing at 1,85m or 6ft 1in. Despite being of average build, she is quite heavy due to the circumstance of her rebirth. She has yellow colored eyes like she had before her rebirth, her hair would usually be white, but she dyed it light brown to not be confused for a demon. She has curled black horns. Her feet seem to be a hardened material, hinting that she isn't what she appears to be at first glance.

Clothing: Ephelina pretty much always wears her black hooded cloak with purple trim around the hood and sleeves. With the cloak she wears a either a black turtleneck dress, a black turtleneck with a white tunic over it or a tunic with pants and a black choker. When leaving the city, she tends to wear clothing she can be more agile in under her cloak.

Alignment: True Neutral

Occupation: High priestess of Rurra, goddess of forbidden knowledge

Skills/knowledge: Ephelina is very knowledgable on religion, even knowing more about the various deities than many priests of the main gods do. Intermediate cooking, intermediate alchemy, abnormal ward magics expert, melee combat expert, intermediate stealth, magical device knowledge and craftsmanship expert, blades intermediate

Personality: Ephelina is sweet among her friends. Zealous during her work. And she is ruthless when dealing with attackers. If you get on her good side, she seemed to be a benevolently natured ogre who a loyal friend. To most however, she is a dangerous oddball and someone who needs to be viewed with caution. She has killed thieves who tried to mug her in the past. She also can be a bit obsessive.

Background: Ephelina used to be known as Felis Alemaster, an apprentice priest of Aevith. He was out on a mission to be a healer during a foreign conflict, but his unit got ambushed. Dying and brutally injured, Felis had thought Aevith had forsaken him. However Rurra reached out to him, offering him a new life and her blessing and in turn become her loyal servant. Upon completing the contract with Rurra, Felis went through a painful transformation to which it seemed like his bones had turned into a black colored metal and his skin became tough like armor. He grew a pair of horns and it seemed that he had a female body. He doesn't know if the goddess turned him into a woman intentionally or confused him for one before. He wasn't going to complain about it though since he/she would embrace this new life.

When she returned to the capital, no one believe her that she was Felis and even threatened her. So she took on a new identity, Ephelina of Rurraki (Rurraki = Kin of Rurra). Due to being a possible fallen priestess in the eyes of the high clergy and because she is an ogre now, she is usually only allowed into the temple under supervision, even when tending the shrine of Rurra. You often find her preaching on the streets, telling people it is okay to embrace limb replacements, despite what the clergy of Aevith tells them.

Her goddess told her that the demon lord will soon re-emerge, but a lot of people including most of the clergy of the main deities don't take it seriously and treat her as if she was some rambling lunatic. She usually finds willing ears at the tavern or the adventurers guild where she also offers the benediction of Rurra in turn for a tea or a nicety. (Benediction of Rurra is usually more mana or more efficient mana use for mages and higher endurance for every other combat class)

Hint: She is likely more machine/golem than ogre.

Appearance : Rosearia is an oddity among her kin, standing at an impressive 6 feet and 4 inches tall with a strong frame and square shoulders. Years upon years of disciplined training gave her the muscles of a true warrior. Built like an orc but as graceful as an elf. With her amber eyes and her silvery white hair, she stands out quite a bit in the crowd.

Clothing : The White Rose favors purple in her attires. She is very much attracted to amethysts and chose to integrate the precious stones in her armor and clothing. Silver is her color for duty, thus she dons armor made of quicksilver for when she patrols, fights or defends. Gold is for nobility, and thus wears plenty of black, purple and gold when she is off-duty. Rosearia dresses herself in robes made of the finest materials she can obtain in Aevithia, to show and bear with pride her standing as a member of the upper class.

Alignment : Lawful Good. Rosearia is a woman of tradition and order with a heart of gold, ready to throw herself in the face of danger to protect those under her care, her family and friends.

Personality : Serious and calm, this Paladin of Aevith at first doesn't appear to be much friendly, but deep inside she is a generous soul with lots of kindness to give. She is especially fond of children and the future they represent, and holds the elders with much regards for their contribution to civilization and their experience. While she is merciful and holds life dear, she is fierce to those who willingly cause chaos and misery. To her, execution comes when all hope is lost for the individual.

Design.jpgOccupation: Paladin of Aevith / Temple Knight. Rosearia has devoted much of her life to the worship of Aevith, training herself with the hopes to one day become her champion. In the meantime, she aspires to protect her people and her sacred grounds.

Equipment: As a warrior, Rosearia had herself crafted a fine armor made of quicksilver, which is quite sturdy and light at the same time to accommodate her agile fighting style. The Rose Knight also carries throwing daggers, potions of healing, chains and cuffs to assist her in her guard duties.

Weapon: Paired to her battle armor is a kriegsmesser also forged of quicksilver and blessed by the priestess of Aevith to smite undeath and evil. Its blade is quite lengthy, rivaling the size of a greatsword but with the weight of a longsword.

Magic affinities: Combat and Healing magics. Rosearia is a spellsword that specialized in using magic to complement her fighting style, but she is known to also use magic to heal herself and allies in arduous battles.

Skills/knowledge: Expert in blades of all sorts as well as throwing knives, she also is natural at using bows and arrows for fighting opponents at a longer range. Expert in agile fighting and quick skirmishes. Knows a lot about religion, law and order and medicine. She is good at dancing, singing, playing the harp and has great calligraphy.

Background: Some people are born under a good star, and one could say Rosearia is one such person believed to be blessed by the goddess. Born from a noble family of merchants as the eldest of three children, Rosearia had good education from a young age and was encouraged by her parents to pursue the family business and effectively become heir to their fortune. However, Rosearia had always felt she was meant for a higher calling.

Despite her upbringing and the ways she was raised, she valued faith and people above the need to produce more coins for the family. The pure irony is that she was willing to give away much to support the more impoverished. Feeling at odds with her family, the White Rose relinquished her familial duties and turned towards public service, in pursuit of becoming a protector of the empire under the guidance of Aevith's faithful.

For decades she studied under the tutelage of Aevith's priests, feeling that this was her true calling. Not only would she adhere to their dogma, she would go above and beyond in her training to become someone who can be relied upon to defend the capital and its citizens.

Her discipline and zeal to the goddess and her cause would prove Rosearia as someone of valor and her many successes during her career would cement her position as a valuable knight in the clergy.

Personality: Mercher is a rational and measured individual who strives to achieve balance in all aspects of life. Mercher's approach to life is a combination of logic and intuition, resulting in thoughtful and well-considered decisions. While others may view Mercher as slow to action or guarded, Mercher believes that carefully considering all aspects of a situation is essential in achieving the best possible outcome. Mercher is calm and composed, rarely succumbing to emotion and never losing sight of what is truly important. Mercher's ability to maintain a sense of balance no matter what is a testament to their strength and resilience.

Background: Mercher was born of a human father and elf mother. To his elf relatives of the east, he was viewed as some abomination that Mercher’s dad created and were openly hostile about it. Despite the disputes of the two parties, Mercher ended up inheriting their father's thoughtfulness and their mother's grace. His early years were constantly moving with his father and mother, Aevithia being his main residence.

When Mercher turned 16, his elf relatives cut all communication between him, his mother and his dad. At that point, Mercher had already set himself on maintaining balance and becoming an official. So he continuously pushed himself to study, particularly mathematics. However, packages from an unknown sender would come to their doorstep, often revealing clothes and accessories that were native to elves. The rest of his life up until he was 22 wasn’t quite interesting, constant studying and the graduation process to get to his position. It was a quiet, peaceful night when he was filing paperwork when he was met with a minor wind god, the minor wind current god to be exact. The wind god was… quite ungodly to Mercher. They were energetic and didn’t take anything seriously. He was offered to become one of her followers in exchange for some of her powers. The wind god was persistent, leaving Mercher with little to no options than to accept. And so he became the follower of his new god and 3 years later, his god is now pestering him to quit being a Bureaucrat and become an Adventurer instead.

Clothing: When he presents as Niccolo, he prefers to wear light and leather armor that is stylized. His clothing always has gold trim and is usually in hues of blue. Niccolo is often seen as just another garish adventurer looking for fame, with his self-aggrandizing tales or accessories. When he preemptively knows he's going into combat he will drop the accessories. When operating as Moon Claw, he wears a purple suit with an overcoat that descends from purple into blood red and a magic mask. Moon Claw wears no accessories except for trinkets he has pilfered from his last kill to taunt the nobility.

Alignment (The Alignment System): Chaotic Good

Occupation: Monster Hunter/ Mercenary, and Adventurer

Equipment: As Niccolo, he always has top-quality armor and clothing draped over his body, but as the Moon Claw he wears clothes crafted with magic to be able to withstand most hits. He also has a pair of magic earrings that hide his wolf ears.

Weapon (if any): A whip Niccolo calls Witherbrand. Witherbrand is his preferred weapon and is most commonly used when presenting as himself and in extreme cases as Moon Claw. Witherbrand is a magic whip that extends and shorts as the wielder wishes, although it does have a maximum and minimum length. Niccolo also carries a short sword on his back in case of close combat. A spellbook created by Niccolo that has more than a few spells and rituals that Niccolo studied for himself. Moon Claw also carries Witherbrand, however the assassin's preferred weapon is his natural claws.

Magic affinity/affinities: Water/Ice and Air

Skills/knowledge: Niccolo has been trained by a former knight and can compete with most warriors with ease. He excels at close-range and mid-range magic, but if need be he knows how to fire a bow with precision. He was trained to be able to survive in the wild and on the street. The art of stealth and assassination is what Niccolo is an expert in, especially when using his magic in tandem. His magecraft isn't the best however he has been able to create short and quick spells that have more than the expected power behind them.

Personality: Niccolo is constantly switching personas, so he doesn't even know who he is half the time, however as the adventurer and Mercenary he is bubbly and sweet. He claims anyone and everyone as his buddy, usually to pry some info out of them or forge a potentially extortable connection. Niccolo's silver tongue and grandiose aura have afforded the favor of many nobles and fellow adventures. As Moon Claw he is silent and deadly, speaking is usually reserved for his prey and the people around them. He is extremely blunt and is quick to bring up the nobility's shortcomings.

Background: Niccolo comes from the noble family of Sabri. His father, Lotherus, like many in the Sabri family, was an arrogant man who used his status in society to get his way. For the most part, Lotherus was untouchable as he was betrothed to one of the princesses and his mother was a decorated hero, however more than a few people were looking for some payback. One day he was saved by a woman of the beast species, Kinshra, which started a whirlwind romance. She introduced him to the real world outside of his golden bubble and he gave some of the finer things he had, even introducing her to his godfather, Sir Mikain Ryennin, a well-respected knight. In due time, Kinshra was with child and Lotherus was over the moon and more than willing to tell his family. Mikain warned him that his family would not take this news well which caused the would-be father to freeze for a while. By the time Niccolo was 5 Kinshra was tired of them being a secret, an open secret at that, she was ready for Lotherus to break off his engagement to the princess and come be a happy family with them, however, Lotherus was beyond scared to disappoint his family.

After a talk with Sir Mikain, Lotherus worked up the courage to tell his family everything but something told Kinshra that everything would not go well. In preparation, she packed up her and Niccolo's things and fled. Her gut reaction was right, the next day her face was plastered on a wanted sign, and their home was raided. Sir Mikain was the first person to track Kinshra down and they both came to the same conclusion, that she and Niccolo must disappear. During their escape, Kinshra was killed and Mikain lost an arm. Leaving the city Mikain raised Niccolo as his grandson. Mikain was more than disappointed with the nobility of Aevithia and wanted them to pay for their crimes, while Niccolo was burned with rage for everything he had lost and everything he would've lost. He wanted his mother and father. He wanted the luxuries of a soft life. He wanted revenge, so Mikain created a troupe of people who had seen the problems within Veres and they became known as Heaven's Judgement.

After 15 years and making a name for themselves, Heaven's Judgement has descended on the capital to weed out the corrupt and right the wrongs of the past. They leave no witnesses and only target the corrupt evil. Taking his grandfather's name, Niccolo Ryennin has earned the favor of a few lesser noble houses and merchants and continues to flex their connection to find his next target.

Personality: more plucky and happy then her older sister, but has been trained to complete the mission at any cost.

Background: the Fango sisters, also know as the twin fangs of the north wolf. Rys and Ria were orphaned at a young age and were taken in by The Fango, a hermit old wolf who lived in a small temple in what is know as the ‘Frozen Spear Forest’. The Fango is a servant of the great Kirvath, and with this he spent his time taking in children who have been orphaned for various reasons as they’ve had no where else to go.

At this temple he had brought in a young girl and her younger sister to take care of them, but in doing so ended up inviting the chaos the two would bring. He raised them along side the others in his care and when they reached a certain age began their training in the art of the shinobi.

Alignment: lawful good (with some underlying chaos)

Occupation: high priestess of Aevith the goddess of creation.

Equipment: her mechanical arm that remains hidden by her outfit. She has a ornate staff that she rarely picks up.

Weapon: her arm and maybe her staff.

Magic affinity: gifted in Water/ice magic to the point she has 6 condensed shards of water magic constantly floating behind her in a sort of halo/wing like effect that only emerge when she uses her magic. Healing magic.

Skills: not much. Some cooking knowledge, possesses knowledge of all deities both minor and major due to being the high priestess for Aevith. A surprising amount of knowledge in the medical science (stuff that isn’t normally treated through magic)

Personality: very caring for all as she doesn’t discriminate, as she believes Aevith would want her to care for those that need help. She does her best to protect others as best as her power allows. However she is a very sheltered woman, and doesn’t understand much the intricacies of the sociability of lower class people as she vary rarely interacts with those outside the church.

Background: Sasha Velura Algerie was born as the first born princess of the Algerienn Empire to the King, Randolph Algerie and his elf mistress. The Queen, Denalla Algerie saw this bastard child as a threat to her rule and ordered her guards to execute both the elf and her child.

Clothing:He usually wears darker clothes, or nuetral colors. Things that are easy to move around in.

Alignment Nuetral Good

Occupation: He's an adventurer. Often doing odd jobs that aren't exactly big and heroic. But they keep the towns people safe and that's what he seems to care about.

Equipment: The dagger that his father left for him is always on his belt. It's got a hilt with a single saphire in the pommel. a plain greatsword that he bought with his own earned money. Some leather armor also earned through work.

Magic affinity: Dark magic

Skills/knowledge:He's befriended a large black dire wolf. Sent in at the age of eighteen to hunt down the dire wolf that was attacking livestock. His party slayed the large female, and found the den. Killing the pups. Gerard however saw a smaller black pup that had been missed and hid it in his cloak.

Personality: Confident and sweet natured. A strong moral code. He's got a soft spot for children and animals. He's competitive, and bull headed at times.

Background:He grew up in a small town alongside Felis. He was something of a scrappy kid. Living on what the orphanage had to give daily. As soon as he was old enough he started taking on easy hunting quests. Often lurking around and listening to the other kids play in town. Often challenging the other boys to contests, as if to prove who was stronger or better. One of the only people who would get the better of him was a boy named Felis. That guy died when he was seventeen though. After that he seemed to realize what it meant to be strong. And dedicated the rest of his time to training and fighting off monsters and enemies that came close to the town. He's decided to visit the Capital to test himself and get stronger.
 

Calcifer A. Bernhard​

Clothing: Cal often wears tailored suits overtop a thick white cloak. clasped together by a thick gold brooch. Protection is often unneeded as his skills in both combat and magic are high enough to keep himself safe from damage. His adventuring gear is basically similar, as Cal does not rely much on armor to protect him. Social events requires Cal to shed the cloak in favor of showing off those beautiful suits.

Schattenstolz (Shadow Pride) - The Family Greatsword belonging to the Bernhard Clan. This hulking mass of enchanted steel is sealed away by gold chains wrapped across the very blade itself. Sealed by an enchanted lock, the only way to awaken the power within Schattenstolz is to fuel the lock with the innate magic of the Bernhard Clan. Releasing a miasma of blackish-blue flames across the blade.

Magic affinity/affinities

Combat Magic - Members of the Bernhard Clan are attuned to combat magic. As a well known family of adventurer's they take pride in their impressive combat magic.

Abyssal Magic - The Bernhard Clan's trademark magic is abyssal magic. It takes the form of a miasma of blackish-blue fire. Use the abyss to destroy those that reside in the abyss. Monsters deserve to be cleansed with their own unholy energies. The Bernhard Family believes using Holy Magic is too lenient of a punishment or a "gift" to the monsters.

Death Magic - The Bernhard Clan rarely teaches this form of Magic to those of a lesser degree of skill in the Clan. Calcifer has shown great strides in his fighting prowess and missions to where learning this magic is approved by the Clan Head.

Mastery - Combat; Battle IQ, Battle Strategy, Battle Performance. Physical; Endurance, Strength, Speed. Greatsword Fighting - Calcifer is a master at this particular set of skills. Needing only to polish these skills every few weeks to keep refreshed.

Advanced - Survival, Magical aptitude and application - Calcifer is pretty well off in this category, but room for improvement is deemed possible.

Intermediate - Cooking, Cleaning, knowledge of the deities - Calcifer is capable of doing certain tasks in these categories, but nothing outstanding.


Novice - Relationships/People , Social influence, charisma - Calcifer is particularly weak in this category.

Knowledge
History, Science, Literature - Calcifer particularly enjoys topics involving these two subjects.

Fighting Skills, Prowess, Strategies, Historical Battles - Calcifer is highly interested in anything to do with battles. His incredible skills in fighting and adventuring lend to this particular set of knowledge.

Magic; Theory, Application, Attunement - Calcifer is always interested to speak about magic and all of the capabilities towards its nigh infinite potential.


Personality

Calcifer's personality could be attributed to wet cardboard. The young man is mission driven before anything else, and seems to prioritize his goals over much of everything else. This personality stems from birth into the Bernhard Clan and its excellence in being a decorated Adventuring Clan. Though everyone in the Clan have their personal quirks and extensions of friendliness, it seems that Calcifer is the one with the least amount of give towards making meaningful relationships. Rather blunt, sharp-tongued, and abhors nonsense. Calcifer's stiff and prickly attitude rubs people the wrong way more often than not- especially clients.

Calcifer never seems to make an impression on people and often speedruns through the client process to simply get the jobs done and paid thereafter. His RBF (resting bitch face) is perfection incarnate. He seems very incapable of cracking that tight-lipped straight face, with those cold, grey white eyes judging you. Calcifer's only motivation is to hunt down the Demon Lord (if they still exist) and to have them break the Bernhard Clan Curse. Then execute them thereafter: it seems that is Calcifer's only desire.

On the other hand, if someone is stubborn enough to gain Calcifer's good graces and seemingly one-sided friendship- there will be an attempt on his part to make some form of connection no matter how small it may be. Perhaps he'll ignore you less, or stare at you a little longer than he usually does when being spoken to. Maybe he'll even be a bit more lenient if you're 5 seconds late to meeting him. To Calcifer, it seems the little things mean more than the rest. As much as his cactus-like personality is hard to adjust towards, there is a small, humane part of him that despite being a little less than empathetic: has a sense of care or vision of excellence towards people Calcifer becomes close to.

Background

The Bernhard Clan is a decorated Clan of Adventurer's well known for their skills in taking on high-end missions and adventuring jobs. Many years ago, when the first generation of the Clan was rising to their fame- a curse was placed upon them for their insistence of being a veritable thorn in the side of the Demon Lord. A curse to remain young and never age physically. The toll of the curse instead boosts the exhaustion the Bernhard Clan faces as they grow in age; up until they are bedbound and awaiting death to embrace them in a long sleep. To combat this ailment, the Bernhard Clan trains their children young to start adventuring and become decorated warriors. Before the curse is allowed to settle in and take root: The Bernhard Clan requires all offspring to endure mission upon mission up until the age of 15 - where they are sanctioned to take on a high ranking mission that often involves death as the only failure.
Calcifer is the golden child of the Bernhard Clan, and has become the next in line to take over as the Head of the Bernhard Clan. His impeccable career in adventuring started to shoot him up in the ranks of his Clan and gave way to gossip when he was the first to accept a high rank mission at the age of 10 rather than 15. Though still young, Calcifer completed the mission with tenacity and an unbreakable will: Proving he is above the rest in his Clan. Perhaps he was possessed by a demon when born? Was he blessed by a deity at birth? What made such a prodigal warrior possible? Could Calcifer break the curse that has affected the Clan?

For Calcifer, that was all that mattered. Calcifer takes great pride in his career, and his goal to break the Clan Curse was his driving force. Taking the Family Greatsword in hand, Calcifer will not stop until he comes face to face with whatever could break the curse inflicted upon his Clan. Time can run out - When Calcifer hits the age of 35 that is when the curse takes its toll. Inflicting mental and physical exhaustion upon the cursebearer until they are permanently bedbound and drifting into a deep slumber almost every day until death. The longest living member of the Bernhard Clan was 44: only they were bedbound by the age of 36.
In that event, you must excuse Calcifer if he does not seem to take priority in relationships- he wants to break the curse before his time runs out. Understand his plight, and you might get Calcifer on your good side. A rare and rather powerful ally in your corner.
