Is it okay to post links to character sheets off site?

I had a post flagged/edited for some external links and info I had shared without really putting thought into why it shouldn't be in my post, like third party info/skype/etc, which is totally fine! I'm appreciate of the admins for bringing it to my attention.

I just want to double check though, I had a link in there to my character sheets on a third party site called CharaHub. Their forums aren't even up right now, so there's no offsite RP, it's just for sharing my character info.

Is it okay to put this link in my request thread, or should I leave it out?

Thank you!

I'd suggest copying and pasting or even taking screenshots of the info to put here without the link.

Charahub is on our list of disallowed links, so please don't link to it. ^3^

We have one for our moderators to refer to, but not a public one.  Basically, CharaHub was disallowed because it's a roleplaying site, and links to offsite roleplaying are against the RpN rules.

I'm with Ictora on this, the list should be visible, though I myself don't need a separate site. My heart and loyalty belongs to RPN ;^;

While I do believe it would benefit to have a public list in some way, it would also be ironic, given that the list itself would lead to these specific sites.  No matter, the suggestion will be brought into consideration and discussed among the staff.

Oh Man I didn't even think of that, musician is right, to would be promoting it at the same time

Thank you for the answers folks, makes a lot more sense to me. :)  I agree that having a list of the disallowed links would be helpful. I appreciate the kindness towards a newbie like me!

Well not necessarily. I mean I only know that Iwaku for instance is a roleplay site because it used to be sponsored at the bottom of this website specifically. I did not find this out from mentions of it in threads that revolved around erotic content.

I mean just saying - don't link Charahub doesn't tell you what Charahub is or promote it really. Like again I can figure it out through the context of this specific threads as it's a thread asking about character sheets. So presumably Charahub is something to do with character sheets.

But without that context to work on it's just - oh I can't link to this place called Charahub. Okay fine.

Same thing with any other site. You aren't promoting it by just listing a name somewhere and saying - don't link this website.

You don't even really have to tell people why they can't link to it if you don't particularly want to. I mean people are going to be whiney and ask but that doesn't mean the Staff have to walk them through the entire thought process.

Do what parents around the world have done from the dawn of time.

You can't link XXX site because I said you can't link XXX site.

It's also rather in-progress (things get added when someone links them and we look into it), but as long as y'all don't mind coming back to it (assuming DWiz gets one posted) to check, we should be good.
