having been told that they're to take part in a year-long, school-wide game. unbeknownst to them, the silly, light-hearted game

April 5th, 20xx. It was a cool Monday morning ─ light showers drizzled over the area of Osaka, with the sky still being clear enough for the sun's rays to make way. Today marked the beginning of a new school year for students all across the country, including those who, one way or another, had qualified to attend the famous Taiyou Academy. While the institution was quite young, only being established almost thirty-two years ago, it quickly became a hot topic across the globe as it was one of the first of several efforts to take the concept of superheroes and make them a reality.

Speaking of reality, the school day had hardly begun when the bzzt-click-ing of various monitors throughout the building sounded ─ students were in their classes and were in the middle of the obligatory 'first day introductions' (at least, that's what was supposed to be happening). In the case of the 32nd class, their teacher, Hasami Enkei, had just finished giving her own, which pretty much went down like so:

"Good morning, everyone ~!" the woman sang, upon gracefully entering the room and taking a stand in front of the blackboard. Her hand reached out to grab a piece of chalk and she began writing her name. "You may already know this if you bothered to look at your digital IDs, but my name is Hasami Enkei, and I'll be your teacher this year. I do hope we can get along!"

As she finished, she turned around, letting a close-eyed smile take over her features before briefly scanning the room and everyone's faces; sure, she knew everyone's names and quirks already from looking at the class files the night before, but seeing everyone in person offered a lot more information than mere images could. Needless to say, they were an interesting bunch, and that fact made itself clear almost immediately in the eyes of Enkei. To be completely honest, she had a feeling that, as a whole, they'd be rather... lively. Which was a good thing. Maybe.

Before she had the chance to continue homeroom, however, was when the monitor at the front of the room cut on, revealing a young-looking female who lacked any coloration whatsoever. Her facial expression was about as blank as her color palette, and when she started talking, it was evident that her tone was, too. She started off by introducing herself as Watanebe Natsumi, also known as the headmaster of Taiyou. She then went on to explain several rules, which dragged on for awhile. Nothing too unexpected.

"... Lastly, as the 30th and 31st classes are already aware of, this year Taiyou will be administering the [ Beyond Heroics: Tasks System ], or BH:TS, again. In essence, it is a series of tasks and challenges of varying themes and difficulty that will be assigned to each class every week. While they are not officially apart of your curriculum, it's suggested that each class try to complete as many as they can throughout the year, as at the end, the most successful class will be substantially rewarded for their efforts.

"It's quite possible that the lot of you may find some of these challenges to be pointless or nonsensical, based on the initial reactions that previous classes have expressed. However, the intention behind them ultimately lies in Taiyou's want to encourage school spirit, friendly competition, and the strengthening of bonds between aspiring heroes, all while keeping the academic atmosphere light yet effective for the sake of minimizing stress."
She paused for several seconds, seemingly finished with her explanation.

"I wish you all a good year of academic achievement and personal growth," Natsumi said, rather abruptly at that, before a few more seconds of silence passed. On the screen, one could see her gaze shift to the side to glare at something or someone off-camera, which was followed by a distant apology and the sound of someone rustling frantically to turn it off.

Letting out a slight giggle, Enkei didn't waste any time in picking back up where she left off. "The missions are usually mailed to the dorms, so you'll probably get the one for this week when you get there," she informed. "But enough of that ~! Jeez... Headmaster Watanabe always takes ages going through that first announcement... now there's only fifteen minutes of homeroom left."

Enkei brought a hand up to her chin in a thinking manner. "I guess... you all can get to know each other before next period, while I just observe! That could work, right?" she suggested, flashing a smile towards the class once again. To her, it was a decent idea ─ she could pick up on little bits of their personalities as well as how they aligned with one another. Also, she could figure out the lesson plan for first period. Not saying that this was last minute planning, but...

ooc: people can get up and walk around if they want to! for this part, they're not limited to just their desk buddies.

Aikawa Kaiyo
Demon

The smell of rain against asphalt, a weird yet pleasant combination, especially in spring. It triggered a feeling of nostalgia, playing in the rain with her mother when she was younger. Light showers never stopped the two of them from going outside. That was years ago though, now Kaiyo found herself sitting at a small table at her and her father's favorite coffee shop. She stared out the window, watching the raindrops travel down the glass pane, betting on which would hit the bottom first. Most of the time the two drops that were racing against each other would end up merging into one, so both end up winning anyways. "Kaiyo." Her attention was pulled away from the window as her father approached the table, placing two cups down before pulling a seat across from her. Kaiyo didn't like coffee, but the hot chocolate here was good, especially with a lot of whipped cream. "Thank you." She grabbed her mug carefully, sipping at the whipped cream that overflowed the top. "I'm not superstitious but isn't it ominous that it's raining on your first day of school?" Her dad chuckled a bit, stirring his cup of coffee with a spoon before taking a small sip. Kaiyo wasn't sure who was more nervous for her first day at Taiyou Academy, her or her dad. She liked to think she was ready but a part of her didn't want to leave her dad alone. "The sun is still out, I think it's pretty. It's almost like a new beginning." Kaiyo smiled between sips of her hot chocolate, being careful to make a minimal mess with how much whipped cream she ordered.

Unlike the relationship she had with her mother, not many words were exchanged between her and her father. That was fine though. A quiet bliss, she always thought. That was probably the best way her and her father bonded. The two sipped their drinks in almost complete silence, minus the occasional questions about the academy from her father. "You sure you don't want to take Takeo?" Takeo was her four year old cat with three legs, she got him at the shelter a few months ago after learning he was going to be euthanized. "I don't think they allow pets in the dormitory." Kaiyo would definitely miss Takeo but she could always visit on weekends. Besides, she believed her dad needed the companionship more than she did once she left the house. After a few more minutes of silence, Kaiyo set her empty cup down before pushing her chair out and standing up. "Best not be late for the first day." With a simple nod, her father finished the rest of his drink before rising to his feet as well. "Hinako." He waved over to the barista, she was around her father's age, maybe a few years younger but very pretty nonetheless. Hinako made her way over to the two, her father pulling his phone from his pocket and handing it to her. "It's my daughter's first day at Taiyou Academy today, take a picture of us, please." Kaiyo pulled her book bag over her shoulder before standing close to her father. She brushed down her hair a bit, pulling a few strands in front to frame her face as her father wrapped his arm around her shoulder. Tilting her head towards her father's shoulder, she smiled brightly at the camera.

[Timeskip 20 Minutes]

"Be sure to call me once a week, don't forget about your old man. And try to make friends too, I know how you like to keep your head in the books but this is a great year to develop friendships. I'll wire two thousand yen to your account every other week for school supplies or emergencies." Her father called out from the car. Kaiyo opened her umbrella, it was white with a pink cherry blossom pattern. She looked at her father and waved with a smile, "I'll be fine, don't forget to take care of yourself too." After their last farewells, Kaiyo turned to walk towards the entrance of the academy. She expected to have a difficult time finding her way around but to her surprise the building seemed small. Even so, the academy provided the students with a layout of the building and schedule for the first day, so all she needed to do was follow that and she was golden.

The classroom was a traditional setting, individual desks for each student and a seating chart up at the front for them to follow. Kaiyo was pleased to find herself at the front, second closest to the door at least. She didn’t have a problem with seeing from afar but she always had a better time paying attention when being closer to the teacher. Hanging her book bag behind her chair, she took a seat and waited in silence for the rest of the room to fill with the rest of the students. Her leg bounced excitedly underneath her desk, curious to meet new faces.

More students entered the room slowly after she did with the class reaching max capacity right as the teacher entered. Hasami Enkei, a very pretty and seemingly kind woman introduced herself. Before she could go on, the monitor at the front of the class turned on, revealing another woman that lacked complete color. She introduced herself as the headmaster and went on a slight monologue about the rules of the academy. Kaiyo took this time to look around at the students who surrounded her, hoping to see familiar faces. Turning to look over her right shoulder, her face froze for a moment before whipping back to stare directly at the front. It was that red hair kid! The one from the convenience store months ago who she caught stealing snacks. She wondered if he remembered her, hopefully he didn’t want to seek out revenge for ratting him out.

After the headmaster came to her conclusion, Sensei Hasami directed the class to take the rest of the homeroom time to introduce themselves to one another. Kaiyo looked to her right, eyeing her deskmate but out of her peripherals she still saw a headful of red. Backtracking a bit, she turned to her left deskmate who seemed like a better option. “Hi! I’m Aikawa Kaiyo. Nice to meet you.” She smiled with a slight wave.

Kazama Hoshiko

Hoshiko bounced around the small space of her grandmother's apartment, unable to keep her energy in. "Today's the day, today's the day, today's the daaaay, I can't believe it! I've been waiting for so long, and now it's finally, finally todaaaaaaaay!"

"I'm so glad you're so excited to leave me. You know, in my day we would at least pretend to regret leaving our elders." Hoshiko's great aunt Hekima clicked her tongue in mock disappointment. Hoshiko blushed and rubbed the back of her neck, and then jumped forward to wrap Hekima in a tight hug.

"I'm going to miss you so, so much, auntie. I love you."

"Yes, yes." Hekima patted her on the back. "You had better get moving, though. Won't look good if you're late on your first day."

"What— huh?" Hoshiko's eyes bugged at the clock. "That late already!?? Goodbye, Auntie, I've gotta go!"

"Wait!" Hekima called as Hoshiko ran off. "You didn't even eat breakfast!" She swept her hand toward the table of food piled up for a usually ravenous child. "I didn't make this all for nothing!"

Hoshiko snatched some toast off the table and stuffed it in her backpack as she ran past. "Sorry, I'll eat on the way! See you, Auntie! Bye!"

She tore off down the apartment stairs and outside, spinning as she ran out into a light rain. The water sank into her skin, enriching it's faint green tint and making it look shinier and more rubbery, and she laughed. Rain — she loved the rain! Especially with the morning sun peaking through, turning each falling drop into a crystal with a rainbow inside. She splashed from puddle to puddle as she ran, more pumped than ever. Rain was a good omen for this new chapter of her life. Everything was going to be great!

:) _ :) _ :) _ :) _ :) _ :) _ :) _ :) _ :)

"Ack, uck!" Hoshiko skidded to a stop near the school entrance off to the side of the main walkway and hacked, clutching her chest. "Running with toast —in your mouth — not — fun," she gasped in between wheezes. "Totally not a good way to catch up on breakfast. You need to be able to breathe. You definitely need to be able to breathe when running. Haaah…."After a few more hacks and some smacks to her chest to clear anything else up, she sprung back upright in an energetic recovery, fist clenched in front of her in eagerness as she whirled on her heel to properly face the school. "All right! Day one, Taiyou here I come! Oh yeah! I am so pumped!" She jumped in place and punched her fists in the air.

Taiyou loomed above her, glistening in all its glory in the morning sunshower. The light rain freshened the air, filling it with the sense of cleansing and new beginnings. Hoshiko sucked in a heavy breath and let it out, before posing again with determination. Today's the day my hero journey begins.

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Their teacher was BEAUTIFUL! Hoshiko sat at her seat in the second row, swinging her legs just a little, and admired the woman, Hasami Enkei, as she spoke. She had the kind of warm, open smile that wrapped round your heart like a hug, with big purple eyes that looked so much like Sai's. Enraptured by excitement and the novelty, Hoshiko committed everything she could to memory to describe to her great aunt and little brothers later. The twins would love the large butterfly hair piece Enkei wore, and, as the monitor flicked on and revealed their headmaster, Watanebe Natusumi, Hoshiko knew they would love her as well. Her monochrome color scheme and tone made her look tough, the kind of person you wouldn't want to mess with, though she looked small, almost like a child herself. Could a kid really be headmaster of the school? Hoshiko would have to find out later.

The headmaster started by listing the rules (which tended to go in one ear and out the other with Hoshiko), and then got to the very interesting part: missions. Tasks and challenges. A chance for friendly competition. Hoshiko was practically buzzing with excitement and impatience.

At last the headmaster's talk was finished, and, since it took so long, their teacher allowed them to spend their time in introductions. Hoshiko leapt up immediately, smile bright and wide and arm raised in an energetic wave to the whole room as she scanned for someone to talk to.

So it begins today. Jin-Woo stood before he mirror in his own room on the opposite wall of the door, his bed to his left, and the rest of the room to the right. It was larger than most rooms, as expected of the wealthy, with a desk and personal computer even, in case he would need to complete any business transactions or scheduling that his father wished. But that was over now, it was his last day of work for the Un-Sung Hero company, and his first day of learning what a true Hero was. A slight tug on his collar to get it set perfect, both thumbs pulled on the suspenders connected to the front and back of his pants to make sure they were of a proper snugness, and a finally preliminary check of his dress shirt ensured that it was tucked within his pants. Pulling the jacket down from the side of the mirror, he would slide his arms through the sleeves, shrugging into the jacket much like his own father would do, and then he would turn on his heel to his right. He was ready for the day. There was only one final obstacle between himself and a higher calling. The Sung Family First Day obligations.

Opening the door to his room, he would be immediately accosted by a man dressed in traditional butler attire, a tray in his white gloved right hand, with a half dome covering over it no doubt containing his breakfast. Of course, he could not eat it yet, as he would have to accompany Sangi to the dining area to enjoy a wonderful breakfast with his parents. Well, to be fair, they were rather quite enjoyable, and his parents never neglected him in the least, he just did not agree with their policies where this company was concerned. That would change when he inherited it from his father, but that was a long way off. Sung Bak, his father, was a powerfully built man who resembled Jin-Woo perfectly, except that he was the older and much more muscular version with long black hair and a beard, under the name Atlas as his moniker. His mother was Sung Bai-Li, a beautiful woman with sandy brown hair and light brown eyes, but she had no moniker as she had never been in the line of work that sent her out into the field. Of all the area in their home, the dining area was the most humble, small with a cozy table so that they could sit together as a family. Jin-Woo took his place to the right.

“Good morning, my son,” Bak would begin, even his voice was powerful, a contrast to Jin’s rich and slightly deep voice, “Glad you could grace us with your glowing presence!” Bai-Li slapped Bak’s arm, offering him a quick glare, before turning a dazzling motherly smile upon Jin. “I’m so excited for your first day, Jin!” Butler Sangi set the tray down and displayed the contents, a healthy breakfast of meat, fruit, eggs, and rice. “Indeed,” Jin began, looking over to his mother, adjusting the coat of his winter uniform with both hands, “and according to the seating arrangement, they’ve set me up front. Maybe to keep an eye on me.” Seems he was a little grumpy this morning. “I wouldn’t worry about that too much, Son,” Bak would say, “just be yourself and they’ll see you for your worth. Now eat up, you’ll need your strength! It’s a whole school of kids with quirks as well!”

[At the School]

The company car would pull up to the front gate, the sun finally out but a light drizzle still being prevalent, the wipers doing their best to combat the gathering moisture. Jin stepped from the car underneath and umbrella that was held by the driver, but Jin waved the man off, as a little bit of water would not be a bother at all. The water kept from touching him, seemingly suspended in midair, as he walked toward the building to make it to his classroom. This was Taiyou Academy, a home for budding heroes, and he would join their ranks. It did not take him long to find the classroom for Class 32, opening the door and stepping within. As a habit, he would adjust his top, the brush off his shoulder with two quick swipes, and then made his way to his seat. Front and center, it was going to be a year of hard work for him. Several others had beat him there, but he had beaten the teacher, which was all that truly mattered. Soon the class was filled, and the announcements were completed, dictating the rules of the school, the tasks they would have eventually, and the overall will of the administration. It was a lot different from Un-Sung Heroes.

Hasami gave them the rundown and then showed her lack of preparation completely, leaving them to their own devices instead of having something planned, which was just as well. He turned to his left and then his right, looking at those who would be sharing the front row with him. A girl with white hair and green eyes, he had seen that much when she looked around, but now she was looking at another…male? Female? With very colorful hair. On the right there were two more, a boy with brownish hair that looked…catlike with quite a bit of size to him, and a tall girl with blond hair and a red highlight. A look behind him showed a myriad of unique individuals, both male and female, with many varying looks. Yes, it was going to be a busy year for sure with this much uniqueness. He would stand and turn to the class.

“Good morning Class 32,” he would announce, offering a formal bow to them and then rising, “I am Sung Jin-Woo. Pleased to meet each of you. My quirk is known as Gravity and I am happy to be working with each of you!” He would offer them a winning smile and a wave as well, like others had been doing. It was important for him to offer an air of lightheartedness and work to rid himself early of the poor reputation of the Sung Family.

-- On Ji Kyoke --
The soft sound of rain gently tapping it's fingers on the window to On Ji's bedroom gently made the girl sit up in bed and stare for a few moments, bleary eyed and yawning. "It's raining.." She'd rise from her bed and neatly pull the covers back over the bed where she had just been laying and carefully tiptoed over to the window to watch the slivers of water gently trail down the class pane and pool amongst the small ledge jutting out from the edge of the window.

A small tapping on her bedroom door caught the messy haired girl's attention as she turned to see her aunt gently glide through the door, holding a tray with two cups of tea with steam still unfurling from the glistening liquid inside. "I brought morning tea~!" Her aunt would beam at her as On Ji walked over and carefully grab the warm mug by it's handle. "It's raining." On Ji would repeat, only this time it was to her aunt, as she motioned with her curly head to the droplets racing down her window.
"Oh! That's a sign of good luck, y'know," Her aunt winked at her and she blew the steam away from her own mug and took a few small sips to check the tea's temperature. On Ji would smile and look into her own mug, taking a few small sips herself, feeling the warm liquid run down her throat and trickle into tummy with the warmth following the liquid.

The two would silently sip their tea together, no words needing to be exchanged for them to quietly bond and have their own psychological conversation by observing the other's actions.
"So you're nervous about your first day?" Her aunt casually mumbled, breaking the silence with a question as though she were continuing a conversation they had already been having. "No... and yes," On Ji sighed
heavily and looked at her aunt with wide eyes, "I just thought that maybe... I dunno it'll be weird waking up in dorms every morning... I mean- Am I really going to have to make my own tea every morning? I never steep it long enough." On Ji looked down at the warm liquid already in her cup and shook her head. There was something else eating at her, yet she struggled to say it.

"You wish your brother was here too... I'm..." Her aunt would stop and sigh, closing her eyes and shaking her head, "I wish Saro was here too." On Ji would stay silent, and stare out the window, her mind wandering as she finished her tea. 'To new beginnings..' she'd silently muse to herself, 'on my own'.

-- --
On Ji would nervously slide into her seat in her class, staring up to the head of the classroom with wide eyes. She'd watch her teacher as she spoke, silently admiring her beauty while also allowing her dark eyes to flick around her classroom to watch the other students sitting around her. Most of the people in front of her were just an abundance of heads ranging in appearances and On Ji was too shy to turn her head over so slightly to glance at the person sitting next to her. Keeping her face trained to the front, On Ji listened to the headmaster, who now had taken the floor, and carefully nodded to her words. Once both adults had finished speaking, a boy in the way front stood and greeted the class before stating his quirk. 'His quirk sounds cool..' she thought to herself and raised her eyebrows, a frown still ingrained in her face. This... might be an interesting day after all.

Sophia Von und zu Hohensalzburg

Taiyou Academy wasn't at all what she expected. Sophia had been led to believe this was one of the premiere establishments when it came to harnessing a meta ability. The Austrian girl imagined the introductions by the institutions staff to be grander, displaying the full prowess of their teachers and what would soon be drilled into them through grueling years of labor. Instead, it was a rather mundane delivery of a greeting from the school head — a woman whose name Sophia nearly missed.

Watanebe Natsumi.

Monotone was the perfect descriptor for her new principle or dean, Sophia wasn't sure of the exact terminology to describe her superior. 'Sensei would probably be respectful and appropriate.' The girl hummed internally, deciding that would be a safe way to address any adult who held a modicum of authority in her new life.

Quietly and with the enthusiasm of befitting an addled elder instead of someone in the prime of her life, Sophia penned down anything half important that Watanebe said. Her nose crinkled at the idea of some sort of mandatory club activity, or maybe sporting event, that encouraged friendly competition. Sophia was planning on joining the photography club to kill her spare time, but the quick exclamation (and truly, with no depth granted from her new superior) shook those plans slightly. Sophia huffed with disappointment and found her eyes wandering. Thankfully she had been seated far against the wall, opposite of the doors and in full view of the outside world. Not the greatest day of day dreaming mixed with idle window gazing, Sophia would take it over being placed first in the class or god forbid, seated smack dab in the middle. She felt comfort at the isolation the far off wall and window allotted.

In contrast to the principle-dean, her homeroom teacher was animated with a strange spark for the first day of school. Sophia's own experience in group education was limited, cut off years ago at her behest, but she couldn't name any teacher that spoke so passionately about their work. 'Guess she's a hero though, little different than teaching maths full time.' Between the principle-dean and her homeroom teacher, Sophia preferred Hasami Enkei. The energy she loosed into the classroom was infectious, brushing away at Sophia's latent insecurities about the new land and new—but—old experience of attending a school. Despite wanting to remain stoic and level headed, Von und zu Hohensalzburg's lips curled inward and a smirk blossomed from the plain expression. 'Alright Hasami sensei, let's hope whatever you actually teach is kick ass. Can't be anything as bad as maths.' She was looking forward to seeing the teacher again later, that was for certain.

There was a great ruckus as introductions began, courtesy of a Sung Jin-Woo. A fairly attractive youth with a bright and friendly demeanor, she scrutinized without a second thought. It was almost in her nature to judge others, a subconscious impulse ingrained from her mother. Had he simply been some elemental meta man, or transformed into a beast, Sophia wouldn't of taken great interest. But his simple statement caught her attention. Brown orbs trained on him more sternly.

"Gravity?" She meant to think, but said allowed. She followed up on her question before she could think better of being quiet. "So what can you do exactly, Woo? Make things heavy?" The sounds of her Austrian roots bled into her voice with the ease of water through a strainer. Her mouth was accustom to making certain noises, sounds that matched up with one another, at least in her mind. Her Japanese would suffer for this, although Sophia paid her own weakness no mind for the moment.

A spark was lit inside her by Hasami sensei, fueled by Woo and urged the girl to flash her classmates her quirk — something she assumed would be the natural opposite of Jin-Woo's. A playful grin cut across her face, wide as she imagined upstaging the boy. "Sounds pretty cool, but I think I've got something better."

To demonstrate, Von und zu Hohensalzburg shifted her gaze back down to her open notebook. 'Close.' She echoed the thought in her mind as the book did her bidding, shutting moments afterwards. 'Focus. Focus. Lift.' The mantra repeated itself as the notebook struggled with gravity before giving in to her demands. As if connected to the ceiling by a string, the notebook rose half a meter into the air before gently plopping back down on the surface of her desk. A hand rested at the crest of her hip. "Von und zu Hohensalzburg Sophia. My meta ability is Thought Lock, pretty much lifting things with my mind."

'Pretty much beating your meta ability.' Went left unsaid.

Horiuchi Tsukino

Tsukino stretched and sighed, sitting up as the first gray light of dawn slipped in through the slats of her haunt. She'd foregone the final night with her parents, preferring instead to tell them she'd be at school and to squat in the slums like usual. It was more of a home than anywhere else, filled with familiar sights and sounds and the sting of what once was, and a part of her would ache for it when she left. By the time she could come back to stay, this place would probably be torn down.

She pushed herself up on tip toes and walked on cat feet to the open window, careful of the weak, creaking boards beneath her. She stuck her head out, face upturned in the light drizzle, and let herself breathe for a few minutes. Today was the start of her new life. A life of toeing the line, of becoming a meek little girl who did what she was told and walked the rose-tinted path to heroism.

Her stomach twisted, and she shook her head to clear the frustration fizzing there. This was unpleasant, but important. She needed this new start, because if she didn't take it…

Outside, the tight clusters of old, overcrowded buildings turned to smoking ruins before her mind's eye, filled with cries and a horrible stench. She breathed sharply and snapped her eyes shut. Her fingers dug into the windowsill and cracked the delicate wood.

She was taking this chance. She'd keep her mouth shut and her head down, and play them while playing their little game until she learned control. She could do this. She would do this. And when it was over, she would be stronger. Better. (Safer.)

She opened her eyes again, and the buildings sat as they always did, a fire hazard but flameless still. Tsukino turned and swiped the pile of clothes she'd left out last night before shrugging off her old clothes and pulling on the new, uncomfortable uniform. Before she would fight against having to wear one of these, but for now she sucked it up and dealt with it. The long sleeves of the white shirt and the black leggings beneath her skirt covered her well enough, so she could handle it. They'd only have a brawl on their hands if they tried to make her show more skin.

She grabbed her backpack, swung it on, and then hoicked first one leg and then the other over the windowsill before climbing down.
_

_
The fancy school still cowed a small, weak part of Tsukino as she walked through it. She'd been to the dorms already to set up her room, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she didn't belong here, not with its shiny floors and wide windows and overall feel of wealth, structure, and education. Her old school had nothing on this— an underfunded, squatty, dim place, it had practically encouraged skipping. She was one of a dozen other delinquents in a crowd too big for the staff to bother with much managing. Here she didn't know the cliques, the expectations, the reach and danger of the staff. Here she didn't have the advantage of being the one with a quirk able to beat off any stuck-up punks.

She didn't like it.

She was one of the first to file in, dropping into her designated seat with a careless flounce. She was, naturally, stuck right smack in the middle, away from the doors, away from the windows. If someone decided to go off or something, she'd have to vault over several seats or use her quirk immediately. Wonderful.

The feeling of being on edge only doubled, but Tsukino refused to show it. Arm slung over the back of her chair, she leaned back and watched with practiced disinterest as other people entered, before fixing her attention on the teacher.

She looked… overly cheerful. Bright, decked up in butterflies like she taught kindergarten rather than prepared kids for a potentially deadly and destructive career. But years dealing with sketchy people had taught Tsukino to always be on her guard, and to read into people, and something in the woman's eyes put her on edge. Maybe it was just her natural dislike of authority and adults in general, but a warning bell rang in Tsukino's mind. Don't underestimate this woman. She's more than she seems.

Before the teacher could say much, however, the monitor at the front of the room switched on to reveal their headmaster, who was… a child. She literally looked like a child. A color-drained, monochrome child. She had a voice as bland as her color scheme as she listed out the rules, and then the more interesting point of weekly challenges. Though its "want to encourage school spirit, friendly competition, and the strengthening of bonds between aspiring heroes" was a gag-worthy aspiration, they might prove an interesting and enlightening experience. A little competition wouldn't hurt, would it?

After the headmaster's lengthy speech and an awkward pause before the monitor shut off, only fifteen minutes of homeroom were left, so the teacher gave them the best possible assignment: introductions. Tsukino glanced at the students on either side— a short, pink haired girl and a girl with dark hair— before looking down at her desk. She didn't do introductions. On the one hand, she could use the opportunity to glean info on who was next to her, gauge threat levels, try to spot weaknesses. On the other… that would mean initiating contact. Which she did not want to do.

One kid a row above her and to her right jumped up with an overexcited wave. A second cheerfully introduced herself as Aikawa Kaiyo further up. Another, a boy at the front middle, stood from his desk with a formal introduction complete with a bow. Rich kid, she'd bet. He looked it.

Tsukino crossed her arms and hunched over her desk, still considering. She wasn't jumping up with a foolish grin or fancy airs, but what was she supposed to do? Take the plunge, apparently.

"Since we're gonna be stuck next to each other, I suppose I should introduce myself,"she said. A half-truth: an introduction could pave the way to learning more about the potential threats on either side. The slight rasp of her ashy voice itched on her nerves, but she continued, leaning back and glancing more openly at both girls to either side. "Name's Horiuchi Tsukino."

Ryu had one last night at his parent's home. Knowing very well he wouldn't be coming back just because he was going to be very focused on becoming a Hero with his quirk. The day he saved someone was the day he determined he could save anyone with a quirk like his own. He got hurt and scarred over it, but it didn't stop him from going on ahead and pushing. The current morning was rain, something he didn't mind but it usually made him a little sleepy. So today was going to be an off day till he got to his dorm where his hamsters currently resided in. Lucky for them, they had enough food and water till he were to return to his dorm room. He made an obligation to make sure his room wouldn't smell up of hamsters so he was going to give them a bath every other day with no issue. Had to take care of his children after all! Standing in the partially empty room of his bedroom, he took a look around with his odd-colored eyes, admiring it for the last time before he walked out and closed the door behind him.

He moved downstairs where he ate breakfast with his parents who spoke with him, wished him luck, and also informed him to say hello to his cousin for them. That cousin being Chika. She was the same age as him, but due to his growth spurt, most would think he was much older than her. She was also attending the school with him, which he found pretty neat, knowing she'd want to be a Hero just like himself. Glancing at the time, he knew it was time to go as he looked to his parents and spoke up "It's time for me to go." he said as he rose from his seat and stretched his limbs. He hated to be in the school uniform, but he was able to wear at least majority of his things. Like his scarf, jacket, shoes. On top of that, he didn't need the straps to hold his pants up so he just left them to hang by his hips. "I love you Mom, Dad." he then went on and hugged his mother who hugged him tightly and almost refused to let him go, but his father had saved him from his mother's death hug and gave him a manly hug while patting his back and telling him good luck. Giving his father a small smile and then a firm nod, he moved to the front door, put on his boots and headed out.

The rain didn't bother him on the way to school, so he walked as if it was a nice sunny day, but with some speed to him just because he was on a time limit. As soon as he gotten to school grounds and headed to class, not long after an announcement had come on from not only the Principal but Hasami Enkei as well. Who claimed to be their teacher and both of them delivered messages to the class. Something about challenges once a week to complete to minimize stress. Ryu let out a slight huff as he sat in his seat with crossed arms and his face somewhat hiding behind his scarf. Challenges? Sounds more like minigames to me... he thought to himself. Only to start hearing speak up, obviously picking up on names in the process. While his face look uninterested and he looked quite intimidating, his eyes shifted to the first girl who spoke, granted, she wasn't speaking to him in particular. But he did catch her name, Aikawa Kaiyo. A cute name for a girl who looked like that. Those same eyes shifted off to another who spoke up and introduced himself as Sung Jin-Woo, who had a quirk that revolved around Gravity. He ended that with a smile.

I'm not going to go up front to introduce myself. No one would even hear me. since he spoke softly when he was around people he didn't know. It didn't take long for someone to try to show off their quirk, and when he looked, it happened to be a female that was sitting in front of him. Her name was Hohensalzburg Sophia with the quirk named Thought Lock. "So essentially telekinetic powers..." he muttered low enough so she wouldn't hear him. Hell if he tried to demonstrate his quirk, he'd cause the room to explode and hurt everyone within it. So Ryu continued to sit in his seat, remaining quiet while he heard another female pipe up with her own name: Horiuchi Tsukino. Sinking slightly in his seat, he continued to remain quiet, not realizing that his cousin was sitting behind him.

Yudai Oshiro
The sound of his alarm could be heard ringing throughout the house until a hand appeared from under the sheets to silence it. His hand fell upon the alarm with quite some force, stopping the annoying beeping it was giving off. The sheets stayed motionless for a few moments until a muscular figure finally appeared from under the sheets. Even though he got up at 5:30 in the morning everyday, he still wasn't used to being an early bird. His hair was an absolute mess, spiking up in every direction. Yudai flipped on the light switch and began looking through his dressers for some workout apparel. Once it was found, he quickly slipped it on and proceeded downstairs.

His feet thudded against the wooden stairs as he made his way downstairs. Everything was silent except for his footsteps, you could hear a needle drop at this moment. He stopped near the front door and peered out the window. His father's car was already gone, must have left for work already. His mother wasn't awake yet and he didn't expect her to be up for quite sometime. Yudai finally made his way over to the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. He planned on working out this morning but he wanted to keep it light as to not be too sore this morning. He swung open the door to the garage and grabbed a yoga mat on a shelf nearby. He meditated before he worked out to try and put himself in a good mindset before working out. Yudai laid the mat on the floor and sat down, legs crossed.

He closed his eyes and proceeded to take long breaths in and out to calm himself down. Anger makes rash decisions. Rash decisions creates openings. Openings increase the chance of losing and losing is unacceptable. If I tolerate weakness in myself, it will spread to others. Weakness is a sickness that can be cured through strength and perseverance. I am not weak. Yudai opened his eyes and continued his breathing exercises. This particular morning he was getting butterflies in his stomach. He was about to depart to another chapter of his life and this was his last chance to redeem himself to his father. He got up from his sitting position and grabbed his MMA glove's. He slipped them on and ran his hands over the worn pads, felling the small rip and tears. His gloves were old, having seen lots of action in the past. He took his fighting stance and took a deep breath in before beginning his barrage of fists against the punching bag.

This continued on till Yudai was satisfied with his strikes. He took a quick swig from his water bottle before beginning the rest of his work out which consisted of weight lifting, pull ups, sit ups and push ups. This went on till Yudai was beginning to get worried that he may be cutting it too close. He grabbed his water bottle and proceeded back to the kitchen to get a glance at the time. He had an hour before class started and the walk to school took about ten minutes. He hurried himself up the stairs to take a quick shower. It seemed like today was his unlucky day because the warm water refused to work.
Thank god I'll be staying at the dorms. His cold shower was quick and he already had his school uniform laid out from the night before. It took him no time to get his clothes on and he slipped his wallet into his pocket. He eyed his pack of cigarettes which was laying on his nightstand. I don't need it. Yudai walked out of the room about to make his way downstairs.

Instead of going downstairs, he turned around to go back into his room and grabbed the pack. He slipped it into his other pocket, grabbing his lighter from the nightstand. He finally made his way downstairs and noticed that he was still the only one present in the kitchen. His mother hadn't even bothered to wake up and at least say goodbye to him. Yudai's anger was starting to slowly grow as he grabbed a milk container from the fridge. He grabbed a glass cup from a cabinet and poured himself a nice cold glass of milk. He chugged it down quickly and put it on the counter, his hand remaining on it. "Some mom I have." He mumbled to himself, his hand tightening around the glass. Before he knew it, the glass cracked and a shard jutted into his hand causing him to wince, "Son of a bitch." He said, his voice audibly louder than before. He threw the glass away and ran the gash under water. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his hand to absorb the blood. "I don't have time for this." He walked over to the bathroom and grabbed a bandage from it. He quickly wrapped his hand and it made sure it was secure. The wound was still bleeding but he wasn't going to get any blood on his uniform for the first day of school.

Most of his stuff was already at the school, he only had to walk himself over there. Yudai slammed the front door shut, so his mother at least knew that he was alive. He had fifteen minutes to get his ass over there, so he was going to take his time. He slipped a cigarette from the carton and nonchalantly lit it. He let a stream of smoke and let his feet carry him to the school. His gash wasn't doing any better and the cigarette did nothing to stem the pain. Once he was finally in front of the school, he had one final draw before tossing it on the ground, crushing it with his shoe. He now had to begin the new stepping stone in his life. Yudai easily found his way to the classroom and upon entering, he noticed they had assigned seating.
Fucking fantastic. He made his way over to his seat in the back and plopped down into his seat, not bothering to glance at his classmates.

In the next few minutes, Yudai found it hard to pay attention to the teacher. Her appearance made it hard for him to take her seriously and he slowly stared away into nothingness, completely ignoring her words. She started to sound like the teacher from Charlie Brown as his mind continued to go to different places. When she stopped speaking, his attention was finally drawn to her, wondering what she just said. It appeared that students were finally starting to converse and Yudai wanted none of that. Some rich asshole introduced himself to the class and another weak looking girl introduced herself to the class as well. He watched her use her power and he rested his head on his arm once he realized it was quite uninteresting. He had no intention of getting to know his classmates, not even acknowledging the existence of his neighbors yet. He hoped that they would just leave his ass alone.

Uchiyama Isamu
"I break stuff with my fists! Let's have a good year, yeah?"

As his alarm went off, Uchi threw his covers off and bounded out of bed. Even though he wasn't a morning person, his excitement regarding the first day of school had overridden his normal tendencies. Still rubbing his eyes, Uchi ran over to the bathroom to start his morning routine, crashing into his punching bag and banging into the wall in the process. After spending a few moments rolling in the ground rubbing his shin, Uchi got back up and got ready for school.

Uchi's father, Mori, was in the kitchen, boiling some eggs. As Uchi entered the kitchen, his father turned and smiled tiredly. Dressed in a bathrobe and slippers, the ex-pro hero Golden Touch had dark circles under his eyes, long unkempt black hair, and 5 o'clock shadow, but he'd done his best to get up early and give his son a proper send off.

"Morning, Uchiyama. Ready for your first day?" Taking a seat at a small dinner table in the middle of the kitchen, Uchi yawned before nodding excitedly, peeling a banana and taking a large bite out of it. "You bet. I'll give it my best shot. Gotta do the family name proud, y'know?" Uchi's dad chuckled as he cooled the eggs under some cold water. "I know you will." A few minutes of silence passed as Uchi ate 4 bananas. Mori walked over with a plate of boiled eggs and sat down opposite from Uchi with a sigh. "I just wish your mom could've seen her little boy get into Taiyou. She would've been quite proud." Uchi looked down at his lap as he finished chewing and swallowed. Although it had been 3 years since his mothers death, it still felt like it had happened yesterday. Even though he felt sadness seeping into his heart, Uchi smiled widely and gave his father a friendly punch on the shoulder. "I know. She was always proud of both of us." Mori grinned. "Of you? Always. But me? Not even on a good day." Uchi consumed a veritable mountain of breakfast as he kept talking with his father. The minutes ticked by.

With his backpack and an umbrella, Uchi and his father stepped out into the street outside their small apartment. A light rain was falling from the sky, juxtaposed with the sunlight that was shining down regardless. Uchi hugged his dad, the familiar scent of alcohol almost creating a nostalgic feeling. Pulling out of the hug, Mori gave his son a few last minute tips. "Remember to keep your straights quick. Follow the momentum through with your hips, just like we practiced, okay?" Feigning exasperation, Uchi smiled and nodded. Promising to call when the day was over, he began walking towards the academy.

At Taiyou
Seated all the way in the slightly cramped back row, Uchi did his best to pay attention as his teacher and headmaster introduced themselves. The former was cheerful, pretty, and seemed knowledgeable enough. The headmaster was an odd character, but if the older classes were to be believed, she was to be respected. Bored, Uchi tapped his feet restlessly and fiddled with his suspenders as the headmaster went through a sizable list of rules. When were they going to start learning the good stuff? Uchi perked up at the mention of the Tasks System. He'd heard of the competition before, but he'd had no idea that it would take place at Taiyou. Uchi grinned savagely as he anticipated a hard-fought competition. The 32nd class would come out on top, he'd guarantee it.

As the class began to mingle, Uchi huffed. An ice-breaker? Well, it wouldn't hurt to get to know his classmates. They were all complete strangers, and it looked like most everyone was getting started with introductions. His neighbors would be a good start. To his left, Uchi saw a girl with pink hair and green eyes. Either she had horns, or she enjoyed wearing them. To his right, he saw a boy with brown hair, kind eyes, and glasses. Getting their attention, Uchi smiled so wide his eyes closed. Reaching out his hands for handshakes, Uchi winked and tapped his ID card. "My name's Uchiyama, but you can call me Uchi. I break stuff with my fists. Let's have a good year, yeah?"

hitodama
maneki

Today was one of those rare mornings where Hitodama was out of bed and fully ready before 9am. Granted, at the rate he was moving, he was cutting it quite close to being late anyway. Go figure.

As they were in a rush to start another long day of work, and they didn’t exactly trust Hitodama to be in the house without any kind of supervision, his parents made sure to throw him out as soon as they left. Luckily for him, he had already done everything he needed to do, except eat breakfast… which didn’t usually happen inside the house to begin with, so it was whatever, really. In fact, this chain of events had been the norm for a while now, ever since Umeko disappeared from the bigger picture. So, what did he start doing as a result?

Nonchalantly slip a packaged anpan out of some poor, undeserving store. It pretty much became a part of his morning routine, and today would be no different ― he excitedly pulled the plastic apart, a toothy grin making an appearance on his features, before taking in a mouthful of the sweet bread and humming with content. It didn’t take long for him to finish, so when he did, he balled up the wrapper and held onto it until the next time he reached a trash can. (What, did you expect him to throw it on the ground? If he’s going to take over the world, then there’s gotta be a world to take over, you know.)

The rest of his morning consisted of him wandering around, hands casually placed behind his head and with the occasional bubble-blowing of the multiple pieces of gum in his mouth. Several looks were shot in his direction, most likely due to their recognition of the uniform he donned on his person ― suspenders having slid down to the sides of his arms, shirt messily tucked in, bright red and blue untied sneakers, and the blazer draped over his shoulders but arms not in the sleeves. How someone of his demeanor made it into Taiyou was a question many people in passing thought about, that was for sure. Even Hitodama thought about it sometimes, but that usually didn’t last very long. It’d typically end with him concluding that it was part of his master villain plan and that whoever was in charge of admissions fell for his trap. If one were to ask what the trap was, they’d get multiple different answers, some of which making less sense than the last, but… yeah, I suppose that’s enough of that.

ooc there's a hidden scroll where his image is. it has mood/location/etc. same goes for naho's posts!

──── ✦

When he finally made it to Taiyou’s main building, he confidently bounded through the halls towards his class (after taking a few wrong turns and ending up at the seniors’ class instead), and without any thought or hesitation, he slid the door open with a loud thud. From the looks of things, almost everyone was there already, given how the desks were occupied. Rather than check where his seat was, he opted to go to the first one that he saw was empty, which was behind a clean-looking brunet and in front of an introverted, blue-haired girl. Luckily, no issues were caused by his carelessness, as it turned out to be his desk after all.

When “Waternabi Naomi” went through the rules, everything went in one ear and out the other ― the only thing he’d managed to catch a little bit of was something about “challenges” and “competition”. Whatever it was, he’d probably win… not that he knew who he was against, but the fact still stood (in his eyes). Afterwards, Purple Circle-sensei suggested that they all mingle together for the last minutes of homeroom, and with that, people began to talk.

One of the first people Hitodama noticed when scanning the room was a girl with white locks pulled up into a ponytail. He didn’t remember where exactly he saw her, but her face looked familiar for sure… and for some reason, he felt the urge to sulk because of it. Several others made their presence known to the whole class, like the bubbly orange-haired girl and the brunet who sat in front of him (he looked rich. hitodama would keep note of that). And so, Hitodama decided that he, too, would publicly introduce himself, which was only fitting for the overlord of death and everything terrible.

Leaping onto his desk, the fun-sized male held a confident stature and let out a loud, HAA~HA-HA! My name is Maneki Hitodama, also known as the supervillain who will take over the world! ☆” A large, mischievous grin was plastered on his face, and it didn’t seem like he was trying to joke around. Probably because he wasn’t. “So you guys are gonna be my subordinates, because I say so,” he stated in a haughty manner. Yeah, that sounded cool, he thought. But not too cool. Gotta... ease them into what would be the pure terror and villainy that Hitodama was, one step at a time. Or something like that.

K I M U R A :: A K A G A N E
Location :: Taiyou Academy - Class 32 Mood :: nonchalant & curious Interacting w/ :: Everyone

It was a bright, crisp morning. The pavement glistened like a carpet of crushed diamonds in the early morning haze. Hushed voices echoed throughout the shopping district as the silver haired male weaved his way through the crowd. His fingers were wrapped around his phone in mild interest; whatever was on the screen made him halt in his steps and chuckle. Obnoxious headlines were plastered all over social media about the villainous group that once again managed to slip past the cracks without much of a trace. It was no where near as exciting as he thought it'd be. They apparently robbed a bank for cash, which really didn't make sense as his family is already loaded to begin with.

The designer rings and phone felt heavy on his left hand as soon as the thought echoed in his mind. Although the sensation didn't feel foreign, Akagane was hoping for something much more exciting to happen rather than some normal and boring act. Not wanting to linger on that boring outcome even longer, he realized that he still had maybe about an hour to kill before heading over to Taiyou Academy. The place where his supposed dreams of finding something entertaining would maybe come true. With that, he figured that he could get some peach tea to subdue the bitterness that was filling his taste buds earlier.

His left thumb then sliding the news app closed and tapping on the maps to find a place that makes it fresh. Several little shops began to appear on the screen that provided him with reviews along with the times that they opened. He figured he could go to the one that was across the street as it had 4.5 stars. Akagane wasted no time in getting there as the thought of finally taking that first godly sip filled his very soul. When he pushed the door open, he was greeted by the sweet, musky, and chocolaty smell that coffee and book lovers alike wholesomely enjoy. Several small to medium sized bookshelves lined up against the mahogany brick wall appeared to be severely aged like fine wine while coffee tables were scattered around the room. His fingers grazed the spines in curiosity; it truly felt like he was no longer in that negative head space.

Before he even had the chance to properly investigate the shop a little further, a auburn haired woman approached him from behind to gently tap him on the shoulder. She was under the assumption that her presence might've startled the boy since they didn't make much noise. But to her surprise, he had turned around with a grin on his features that gave her the impression that he was truly unbothered. "Hey, I saw that you guys were selling peach tea." He paused to point at the menu that was right behind her, "I would like to order the biggest size you got!" His demeanor was practically radiating with so much happiness that left the young woman in awe. She rarely had customers around his age enter her shop since she's opened and this only encouraged her to quickly work on his request. "Are you new around here sweet heart?" She asked over the sound of clinking ice being placed into a large plastic cup. Akagane hummed in response as he took a seat by the bar to watch her prepare his tea. "I wouldn't say that! I just happen to be from around the area" His vague answer only made the woman smile. It was obvious that he had no intentions on sharing that bit of information and she didn't necessarily want to press any further. "Oh how lovely! ~ Oh and don't worry about it, its on the house."

The amount of glee that shined in Akagane's bright blue eyes after he took the first sip made the woman laugh. "Sheesh, that wasn't necessary but thanks anyway." He jumped off the stool and checked his phone to only realize that he now had a solid fifteen minutes left. Giving her one last wave, he exited the shop with his LARGE peach tea in hand. His earlier curiosity of the heroics course was now swirling in his mind. He had hoped that his peers were interesting enough.

Akagane wasn't entirely surprised that he was one of the first ones to arrive to Class 32. It honestly gave him a much better opportunity to assess every single person as they walked through the door. His family had taught him to pick up on certain mannerisms or even speech habits. You'd honestly be surprised at how much someone can tell about a person by just observing. Leaning against the chair and placing his foot on the bottom arm of the desk, he noticed that everyone started filtering in one by one. Including their homeroom teacher, Hasami Enkei that left her introduction short along with Waternabi Naomi giving them the basic guidelines and something about challenges that gave the boy a mild rush. He was not one to turn them down. The rest felt like a blur as he found himself counting the tiles on the ceiling until he heard others starting to introduce themselves.

The redhead that appeared to be his height next to him robbed his attention briefly with his loud statement about being a villain. If his eyes had the ability to roll to the farthest part of his head, he would've done so already. Yet, that didn't stop him from laughing, "A villain wouldn’t announce themselves that easily you know?" Akagane commented with a smug glint in his eyes as he took a sip from his peach tea. "I don't think any one of us signed up to work for you either."

The girl had been smug, Sophia, possibly German, but definitely annoying. Already she was wearing a smug look over her quirk, Thoughtlock, which was a form of telekinesis. While it probably had a longer range than his own, according to his father, that was his own fault. Apparently, he had put a limiter on himself when he was a child, after he caved in their home, and the block just never went away. ”Confidence is what you need, son. Confidence and practice.” The voice of his father was always invading his mind, the great Atlas, applying the weight of the world to those that opposed him. His words carried that same weight as well, another reason why he was here, but there was another matter that was just a bit more important to attend to, that of a small boy who had just declared they were all his subordinates. That was not a road Jin was prepared to follow.

“Sorry to interject,” Jin would say, looking from the girl and over at the boy who had hopped up on the desk, declaring that he was some sort of supervillain, “but you don’t seem to understand the gravity of your words. Allow me to grant you insight into the weight of the path you have chosen.” He did not need to take any steps forward, the boy had been directly behind his own desk, well within range of his medium influence. That should be enough to seat the boy. His quirk would activate, but he would make a grand spectacle of it, everyone in the area feeling the weight of his power, but only Hitodama would feel the maximum. The other would only feel a pressure that seemed to want to make them bend or drop to the floor if they could not resist it, as if gravity itself had increased two-fold for them. Hitodama would feel something much different, as if gravity were increased four-fold, not enough to break or harm him truly, but enough to pull him down forcibly to the sitting position if he could not resist it.

“You see, this is an academy for Heroes, not a school for delinquents and vagabonds.” Slowly Jin would begin to rise from where he stood, as if levitating, the gravity that held him down no longer holding him like it should be, and he would float forward toward Hitodama until he was before the boy (either still standing or now slammed home into his desk). “Villains…well, all villains will be crushed by my own resolve. ALL. VILLANS. Even petty ones such as yourself. There will be no mercy. So, tell me, Hitodama, are you truly a villain?” All in the room could now feel the magnitude of his power, everything becoming heavier, even the very air as Jin looked down upon Hitodama from where he floated. His eyes would scan the room as well in case there were those that thought him going too far to return the classroom to order, as there was a time and place for shenanigans, and this was neither of those. "There is a time and place for disruptive behavior and obnoxious jests, but this is not it. This is not a zoo, so do not act like animals and conduct yourselves in a manner befitting a hero while in this classroom. I won't have my own learning disrupted because some of you feel the need to howl." His father's iron-fisted ways seemed to have rubbed off on him, but maybe this was for the best.

He would allow gravity to return to normal, releasing everyone from his sphere of influence and landing upon the floor as well, then walking back to his own desk to take his seat without even seeming to worry about retaliation. Turning in his chair, he would address the classroom once again, as well as the teacher. "Hasami-Sensei, please forgive my outburst. Villainy is not something I can typically tolerate, despite my name. Class Thirty-two, please continue with your introductions and forgive my outburst, I am interested to learn about you all, even Hitodama the Villain." His eyes were still hard, but he offered a smile regardless, moderately warm and seemingly patient as well. Damn. So much for first impressions, huh?

naho
momota

He knew it was going to be bad, but not this bad.

The sun was still nowhere to be seen by the time Naho “woke up” ― though, let’s not get it twisted. Rather than actually going to sleep, he spent many hours trying to, but failing. So, instead, it was more of him laying there with his eyes closed, constantly shifting from one side to the other, desperately attempting to settle into a comfortable position but to no avail. It was always the seemingly little things that bothered him, too; the pressure on his shoulder being slightly too much, the pillow that was slightly too flat, the comforter being too hot while the lack thereof made him a shivering mess. It felt as if there was nothing he could do to just stop, and it went on for the entirety of the night and through the early hours of the morning.

It didn’t help that his mind was as active as ever, shifting from one thought to the next without ever slowing down. It started with how uncomfortable his eyes were, since even though they were closed, he felt the need to blink, and from there, it went over many things. What he had for dinner ― all he felt like eating at the time was rice. Now he’s been lying on his stomach for too long, and it’s getting hard to breath. What was that sound? Are those mom’s footsteps? Is she coming to wake him up? Wait, how much time had passed? Is it really morning already? The first day of school already? Already?

Tired teal eyes shot open within a moment’s notice as a bead of sweat rolled down his temple. He looked over to where his phone sat, reached over, and checked the time. 3:45 am. At this point… there really was no point in trying to sleep anymore, especially since his plan was to wake up early and get to class early so he could avoid the mess that was walking through busy hallways and… worse yet, opening the door and having everyone look at you. Other than for taking the entrance exam and setting up his dorm room, Naho hadn’t left his house in three years. This was… terrifying. He didn’t want to go anymore. But he couldn’t stay a burden to his parents…

Despite the ungodly hour in the morning, Naho dragged himself out of his bed and reluctantly began to get ready for the day, and when he finished, the time read 4:23. His parents weren’t awake yet, but that might’ve been for the better ― the less commotion being made over his departure, the less pressure on his nerves. Letting out a sigh, he slid his shoes on, and slipped out the door. He could just call them after class, anyway.

When he arrived, pretty much no one was there. That was to be expected; at this point, the sun was barely beginning to rise. After taking a quick glance at the seating chart, he made his way over to the very back of the classroom. Luckily for him, he was right next to the back door, which meant when it was time to go, he could leave the room as quickly and quietly as possible, without having to deal with other kids crowding at the door to head out before him.

“Nice…”

──── ✦

Naho kept his head down on his desk as other students started to filter in one by one, and as they did so, he didn’t bother to spare any of them a glance. Finally, Hasami Enkei entered, cheerfully went about her introduction, and the monitor cut on, starting Watanabe Natsumi’s own introduction right afterwards. Challenges, school spirit, competition… “Lucky day,” he muttered lowly.

People began to linger and introduce themselves, but what really caught Naho’s attention was when a redhead, Hitodama, climbed up on top of a desk and started yelling. What followed was the Jin Woo kid’s apparent need to display his quirk to everyone, on everyone, in order to get a point across to said redhead, but right before the quirk activated, Hitodama said something along the lines of “Oh? You’re approaching me? Instead of running away, you’re coming right to--”

… And then, he promptly fell straight forward, a look of strain briefly flashing in his eyes. But before he could hit the ground, two round entities appeared, and as he fell into one of them, he came out of the other at almost the exact same time. Thus, he was standing again, but this time, on the floor. “... Portals?”

With that, the gravity quirk subsided, and as he watched Jin Woo apologize to Enkei, Naho could feel himself letting out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.

“Hey, why’d you ask me that? I just told you I was a villain!” Hitodama exclaimed, still a bit wobbly from the additional force that was placed on him a few seconds prior. “And, and, and! A villain wouldn’t give you a choice, so I’m not gonna give you guys a choice, either. You’re still my subordinates! ☆”

Naho could feel his eye twitch and his body tense as he watched the entire thing go down. Even though Hitodama was pretty much just attacked by an angry Jin Woo, he still remained bright and cheery, and the tired boy couldn’t tell if it was to spite the gravity-user or if he was just that kind of person. Probably the latter.

Slowly, Naho brought his head back down to his desk, opting to stare at the door that was next to him, muttering incoherent nothings to himself; why did he think it would be a good idea to go here? Everyone was already proving themselves to be crazy in one way or another, and truth be told, he had no idea how he would even begin to interact with these people. I just want to go home and sleep…

Hitoshi
Darkness slid into light. The Blue Hour was upon the city of Osaka, it was a spectacular event to see early in the morning. The darkness that once filled the night air slowly washed away from the sky as intense brush strokes of red and orange lights streak across the canvas of the sky above, marking a new day. This was Hitoshi most favorite time of the day. He always woke up early to watch the twilight bless the sky above. Sadly, the day was greeted with gloomy clouds that forecast light showers. However, this didn’t damper his spirits. Instead, he resumed with his normal daily routine of fixing himself a cup of tea and watching the morning rise from the living room of the Ishida home. Hitoshi watched the sky in silence never uttering a word and slowly sipping away at his tea as if slippering any louder than he did would chase away the rising sun. His moment of tranquility was broken when his attention turned towards the Tamaya place in his living room. He smiled warming at the picture of his mother resting inside it speaking very softly, “Good morning mother. Today is the day… I’ll make you proud you just wait and see.”

Breathing deeply, he embraced the new morning and went about his day getting ready for his first day of school. He ate a simple breakfast of eggs, toast and ham while partaking in moments to read a few pages of the romantic novel he had acquired a few days ago. After which he returned to his room to get dressed for the new school. He found the school uniform rather tacky with their flannel style pants. He rather enjoyed the suspenders as he felt a bit old timey. Once he felt dressed to impress, he began packing the small belongs he found too important to give to the movers. Once everything was in order, he began to move from room to room turn off all the lights. Till he finally made his way to the shrine of his mother. He took the final moments in his home to give prayer to her and say his goodbyes for today. With an umbrella at hand he made his way to door ready to start his new life at Taiyou.

-------------------------------

Hitoshi walked through the corridors of the Taiyou a bit aimlessly. He wondered around the school for a bit to gathering the layout of the place. Trying to make himself feel more accustom to his new environment. After feeling satisfied with his exploration, he made his way to his class finding other students having arrived before him. He made his way towards the back of the room where his desk was located at. He glanced down at his seat with a heavy sigh, “Suppose the kid with the bifocals has the best vision nowadays.”

Taking his seat, he began watching the other students in the classroom and taking note of their physical appearances as to remember his new peers. He couldn’t help but remark yet again his distaste for the flannels especially on the women. Perhaps this was a tactic by the school to ensure everyone look so unsatisfying to one another. The sudden though caused him to have a mini melt down causing him to collapse onto his desk in defeat. “Forgive me mother, but this school may have bested me on the first day.”

He remained in this state of defeat until the teacher’s arrival and the orientation had begun. He listens intently to the headmaster nodding along occasionally. He couldn’t help but feel intrigued by the types of challenges that maybe laid out before them. However, before his thoughts could wander off to potential opportunities. The teacher had dismissed them to convers amongst themselves. This was the pinnacle point of every teenagers’ worst nightmares. Making a good first impression on your peers. Hitoshi took a deep breath mustering the courage to speak out loud but was cut short when another arose from the front of the room to introduce himself. He sighed heavily missing the opportunity to be the first one to take that bold step.

Suddenly a voice cut through his thoughts as the young man to his side spoke out towards him with an outstretched hand. Hitoshi smiled warmly and accepted the welcoming handshake. “I heard the first year is usually the best year. Names Hitoshi, it’s nice to meet you.”

After introducing himself with Uchi, his attention shifted towards the small girl tucked away in the corner next to him. She had a wonderful colorful array of hair and eyes that caught his attention. He meekly smiled at her feeling a bit disheartened at the state of her attire. These flannel skirts destroyed the natural look of the women for him. “I just want to say these flannel style bottoms and easily the most painful eye sores I’ve experience this year. And I apologize to you and rest of the student body that must wear these abominations. My names Hitoshi, nice to meet you.”

AYANO KUDO
W/ TSUKINO
She sat by a small, derelict window, watching as the morning sun crept into her small, derelict motel room. Her head leaned against the window, her mind slowly wandering off into nothingness as her ears were flooded by the light pitter-patters of rain smacking against the glass pane. "Pretty..." the girl whispered as her eyes began to travel upwards to Osaka's golden, morning horizon. It was a calming sight to see, and even when she had just awoken, Ayano felt her eyes grow heavy once more.

Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz!

"Wah!" The girl immediately jolted into an upright position, her hands scrambling to find her phone. Eventually her hands gingerly picked it up, the caller ID reading: "Saki♡". Ayano quickly swiped on the phone, bringing it closer to her ear.

"AYANO!" her sister began in a loud shout, practically blowing Ayano's eardrum out. "Are you heading off to class yet?"

"N-No, it starts in a couple hours! Geez, Saki..." Ayano stammered, giving her head a quick shake to recover from Saki's auditory assault.

"Ahh—okay. Well how's the motel, is it okay? I'm sorry I couldn't book anywhere better."

Ayano's eyes shifted towards her room before flatly replying, "It's good, no issues here." It was a bold-faced lie, she wasn't even sure how the motel could still be allowed to open yet she hadn't the heart to tell her sister the truth. While technically clean, the room screamed 'old and neglected'. Everything seemed as if it came straight from the 90s, and the entire room had this gross, flat brown tint to it. Despite being defined as a "no smoking motel" the entire building had a thick stench of cigarettes that made Ayano gag.

"Alright, well get ready for classes soon anyway. And make sure to arrive early, gotta set a good first impression, y'know?"

"I know, I'm practically at Taiyou already," Ayano replied, rubbing her eyes as she rose from her seat. "I'll be fine, Saki. Take care yourself too, okay?"

There was a short pause, and all that could be heard from the other end was a long inhale. "I know," her sister whispered weakly before suddenly speaking up again. "Oh! A customer's here. I need to go. Bye Ayano, love ya!"

Before Ayano could open her mouth the call was ended and the room fell silent. The girl let out a heavy sigh, her arms slumping as her eyes began to droop. As much as she didn't want to outright admit it, Ayano wished Saki could've been here with her in person. Though the distance between Osaka and Kyoto was relatively close, to Ayano they could've practically been across the globe from each other. Saki had always been there to support her, and with this being the first time Ayano would be living alone she couldn't help but feel...empty.

She rapidly shook her head. "N-No, Ayano—you'll be fine," she whispered to herself, mustering whatever energy she had left into those words. Ayano couldn't tell if that was her third lie in the span of only two minutes, though as the clock neared class time she would soon find out.

-----

One by one students trickled into the classroom. Each one of them seemed unique in their own right—Ayano could only wonder how she compared to them all. Though for now she didn't pay attention to any of them specifically. Her plan was to first grow acquainted with the teacher before interacting with the other students, and that was what she fully intended on doing. Quietly she took her seat, her small hands rested on the small desk in front of her as her eyes laid on the blackboard ahead of her.

"Good morning, everyone ~!"

Ayano's head perked up as she heard the voice of their teacher: Hasami Enkei. Though before she could really speak, the monitor beside her suddenly blinked to life, revealing a black-and-white woman that looked eight years Ayano's junior. For the majority of the allotted class time the woman flatly explained the relatively new "BH:TS" program, a program that would ideally encourage teamwork and friendly competition. As soon as she finished and Hasami was able to speak again, she encouraged the students to interact amongst themselves while she acted as a chaperone. More...naturally extraverted individuals immediately began to interact amongst themselves, and as time passed chaos soon began to brew.

Ayano's eyes shifted from left to right, rapidly trying to process exactly what was happening around her—yet it was a pointless endeavour. People were introducing themselves left and right, with one red-haired person even jumping onto his table, proclaiming himself as some sort of supervillain in jest. Ayano had grown used to adopting a short of cheerful, super enthusiastic persona, yet even for her this seemed to be extremely overwhelming.

What do I do, what do I do-

"Since we're gonna be stuck next to each other, I suppose I should introduce myself. Name's Horiuchi Tsukino."

It was the girl sitting next to her, one with a head of purple hair obscuring half her face. Immediately a wave of relief washed over her as now Ayano herself didn't need to initiate a conversation. A cheerful smile began to creep onto her lips as her body shifted towards the right, now face-to-face with the girl. "Kudo Ayano, nice to meetcha!" she grinned. "Didn't expect things to get so crazy here, is it usually like this in Osaka? I'm pretty new to this city." She was mainly referring to the redhead who had leapt onto his desk, though in general the room seemed more...lively than she had been accustomed to.

Kishiko Shinohara
Kishiko2.png

The first rays of sunshine greeted the Shinohara family as they approached Taiyou’s territory. The ride through Osaka had been a quiet one, the presence of a somber air infected the interior of the car more and more the closer they got to the academy. Mrs.Shinohara was nowhere to be seen, she couldn’t bare the thought of watching her daughter leaving them for a life filled with dangers and as a result opted to stay home. Even the once enthusiastic Kishiko was noticeably down, all signs of her previously displayed energy completely gone as she quietly stared into the outside world through the window.

“We can still turn back now, Kishi.” Mr.Shinohara’s words pierced through the air, his worry not so well hidden behind a stern tone. Kishiko faced away from her sightseeing adventure to direct an exasperated look at her father. How many time had they tried to stop her? Five, ten, over a hundred times? The girl had lost count a long time ago, but not once did the perceived cowardice of her parents cease to annoy Kishiko. “God, can you stop already? I don’t care about what you have to say, I WILL go to Taiyou, I need to do this.” Answered Kishiko who had grown tired of the conversation the moment it had began. “What is it that you need!? A life that could well lead to your own death at the hands of some wretched criminal!? Is that what you really want!?” Mr.Shinohara had finally lost his cool demeanor, but he wasn’t the only one: “Oh yeah!? Well at least I ain’t waiting around for that same criminal to come around and slaughter my family on a whim because I lacked the strength to protect them!”

Yet again the car fell into pure silence, both of its passengers now noticeably tense due to argument they just shared. As they pulled over right in front of the academy’s gates a melancholic wave washed over Mr.Shinohara “We love you Kishi, please understand that should you ever want to leave all of this behind we’ll receive you with wide open arms. We only want the best for you.” He said before pulling her daughter in for a bitter hug. While initially tense Kishiko ended up loosening up her stance and returning the hug. “I...I know, you guys always have and always will protect my back. I’ll take care. This isn’t goodbye, I swear that.”

[T i m e s k i p]

Despite her best efforts to arrive as quickly as she could Kishiko ended up being one of the last students to enter the class. She didn’t even have time to inspect her surroundings as the teacher, one known as Hasami Enkei, began introducing herself and her profession. Just as pleasantries drew to an end the image of a child appeared on a monitor in front of the class. Was this a quarantined student’s way of assisting classes? Oh wait, it’s the director. While Kishiko was in fact listening to everything Watanabe had to say the young girl had a hard time keeping herself from looking away due to the sheer boredom of it all. That was until she heard the words “friendly competition” escape the director's lips. Oooh, now it was on, by the time Kishiko was done with these activities it will be looking more like bloodbath rather than friendly competition. Kishiko cracked her knuckles as the director finished her speech, this would undoubtedly be a fun year. After Hasami allowed the interactions between students to take place Kishiko's attention was caught by the following statement:

"Since we're gonna be stuck next to each other, I suppose I should introduce myself, name's Horiuchi Tsukino."

She turned to face the source of the voice, there she saw the presence of two girls: The first was the one that had spoken, she displayed very cool and seemingly relaxed demeanor. Kishiko made a mental note to ask her if her hair got in the way of her sight later. The other was a pink haired girl, despite her overwhelmingly sweet appearance Kishiko wasn’t gonna underestimate her, for all she knew this girl wielded a world-ending power. ( afterrain afterrain Pyosimros Pyosimros )

“What’s up you two? Call me Kishiko, don’t worry about immediately remembering it though, if anything you can just call me Captain. How about you-” Before Kishiko could finish addressing both girls a tiny little red devil stated both his name and his villainous intents for the whole class to hear. What followed were the almost impossible events to properly follow that came in the form of a short scuffle between the rowdy shorty and Jin-Woo, a student's whose introduction barely managed to reach Kishi's ears. However, what completely caught Kishiko off guard was the sudden feeling of intense pressure pushing down on her. While the young girl barely even flinched thanks to her active quirk, it was more than enough to briefly surprise her the main feeling that overtook Kishiko was that of excitement. With powers such as this dude would definitely make for a good potential sparring partner to consider for the future. Still, what surprised her even more what that despite his attempts at suckerpunching his target the red gremlin proved to be more crafty than he looked, managing to dodge a collision against the floor via the use of his portal-based quirk. Now THAT was impressive, Kishiko couldn’t help but let out some loud laughter at the results of the event. “Good one shorty! With skills like that I wouldn’t mind being one of your so called ‘subordinates’!” Kishiko yelled at Hitodama before erupting in laughter yet again. ( MajesticCoal MajesticCoal poi poi )

With all that was happening Kishiko was absolutely fired up. The drama from the car ride had completely left her mind, she was fully back to her energetic self. Though, unfortunately for Kishiko’s desk neighbor she had noticed his quiet presence, and she was about to let her’s known too. Without thinking twice about it the girl delivered a light yet swift kick towards one of her neighbor's desk legs. Due to her quirk being active what was meant as a small call for attention almost resulted in the desk fully launching over towards the wall. Not that Kishiko cared about this show of strength anyways.
“Hello neighbor, what’s with the quiet act eh?” Asked Kishiko with a wide grin. While under any other circumstances Kishiko would’ve simply acted in a much more casual manner the fact that this guy was displaying such a fantastic scar on one of his eyes meant that the young girl had immediately placed him in a league different to that of the rest. This guy looked like the sort of badass she was hyped to meet at the academy. His quiet and mysterious demeanor did not help either. “So tell me mister, what’s your name? Cool earring by the way, I’ve never seen anything like ’em.” She finished before leaning over to her side and flicking the accessory with extreme care as to not cause the guy any harm with her quirk. "Hey." No response. Itsuki sighed and repeated himself. "Hey. Get up, dummy." There was still no response. She was knocked out. Looks like he would have to use another method to wake the girl up. Today was the probably the most important day in her life and she was unresponsive no matter what he did. "Damn. Probably wasn't the best of ideas to let her play in the night. Huh, now that I think about it, why did I think that was okay?" He thinks out loud. A little too loudly if you ask me.
"Quiet, you old geezer." The Teenage girl responds to her dad. "I'm trying to sleep." Her voice sounded very flat and pessimistic.
"Did you forget?"
"Forget what?"
"Taiyou. Taiyou Academy, Remember? You got accepted. Today is your first day."
She groans as she stretches her arms a bit before responding. "Taiyou? You mean that-"
"Yeah, that school. Now, hurry up and change before you miss it and trust me, you wouldn't want to." Itsuki leaves and goes downstairs to make breakfast. He wasn't the best at it like his former wife, but he had a few tricks up his sleeves. Alexis groggily gets up and exit her bed, the sudden chill hitting her skin behind her PJs making her shiver. "Damn it's cold. Okay." she heads for her closet and picks out a random outfit consisting of a clean yellow t-shirt and black pants and slips them on after taking a short shower and brushing her hair. She slips on her socks and tennis shoes and stuffs her bag with a few drawing utensils and a few projects she hasn't finished yet before brushing her hair a bit and leaving her room, walking downstairs. "Why did I agree to this again?" She mumbles as she walks down the stairs, preparing to leave. Itsuki wraps up Breakfast preparations and hands her some toast and bacon, which she starts to chow down. Itsuki stares at his daughter, grimacing at her obvious depressing aura. "You forgot, did you?"
"About what?"
"Why you wanted to do this. I was so proud of you when you came up to me that day and decided you wanted to become a hero, that you finally had a reason to become someone like me, a hero that I used to be. But..." He slows down, hesitant to say the next line. "You changed when she...went away. I know that you made it your duty to try and protect women like her from those monsters, but you can't save everyone, Lena. So please, try not to blame it on yourself. I, uh, already went through that for you." He ends. Alexis continues eating her breakfast, not once looking him in the eye. "Yeah. Okay." She starts to walk out before being interrupted by Itsuki again.
"By the way, Suou left you something." Alexis stops at her name and turns around. "What is it?"
"That's a surprise. Here" He hands her a box he pulled from the fridge. "Open it. I think you'll like it."
"You already seen it?" She questions.
"Yeah. I think it's nice."
She opens the box and finds a small cupcake with a note. "It's a cupcake."
"That ain't all. Look at the note."
"Alright." She opens the note and begins to read it.
Hey. Congrats girl! You're one step closer to completing our promise. Now smile. For the World. For the girls.

For Me.
The cheesy-ness of the note is enough to make her smile for a bit before taking the cupcake and eating it before leaving the apartment and to the parking lot. Itsuki follows quietly behind as they approach his car. It was still there, still standing out like a sore thumb with the other city cars in Osaka.

100% pure American Muscle, just the way they both liked it. They both gawk at it for a second, as if seeing it for the first time before Itsuki takes the driver's side on the right and Alexis takes the left. The Car starts and they pull away, the V8 producing quite a bit of noise as it drove off. The drive there wasn't anything special as they both knew the city pretty well.

KING CRIMSON! *Timeskip noises*...Taiyou Academy...

"This is the place. Are you ready?"
Alexis stutters as she answers.
"N-not Exactly."
"Listen. You'll do just fine. You're a strong, pretty and independent woman, probably exactly like many of the others in there, you hear? Now, go out there and kick some a-!"
"Okay, now I'm leaving! Wish me luck, goodbye!"
"Oh, okay. Remember, seat number 5, 'kay? Seat Number 5!" He shouts to her as she leaves her father's GTX and heads straight into the building. The building is a lot smaller than she anticipated, manuvering and figuring out the floorplan relatively easy. It wasn't hard to find the classroom due to the plethora of students entering into one classroom in particular, but that just made her all the more scared. She takes a deep breath and steps inside, finding most of the desks occupied by many other students the looked like they could be the protag of any anime out there. She quickly takes her seat at seat number 5 and immediately shuts everyone out, not saying a single word to anyone.

Hasami Enkei, probably a teacher, introduced herself. Immediately afterwards, the monitor at the front of the class turned on, revealing another woman. She looked...ill? She introduced herself as the headmaster and went on a slight monologue about the rules of the academy. Alexis listened to what they both hand to say before once again shutting everyone out to doodle something. She didn't feel comfortable in any school and the fact that these guys had as much hero potential as her didn't make things better. She seemed it would be better off if she didn't say a word at all to anyone and stay quiet the entire time.

@ Open for Interaction

ryu.png______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________1597074663942.png

Ryu knew that the noise levels would rise in a matter of seconds and thus was not able to pick up anymore names. He knew only had faces for the rest of the class now, and that somewhat bothered him. He wanted to avoid interaction as much as possible, but it seemed inevitable now. It didn't take long for a monkey to jump onto the desk and declare his name: Maneki Hitodama. In Ryu's mind, he was known as Monkey now. Both eyes looked the boy over as he claimed to be a super Villain and claim the rest of his class 'subordinates'. Closing his eyes, he sighed into his scarf, trying to drown out the noise. He barely heard a kid speak up to the Monkey and soon was met with Jin-Woo's voice, who told said-Monkey off. Cracking his blue eye open, he peeked at Jin Woo, watching as he chewed the boy a new one and obviously using his quirk before ending it all with a smile and kinder choice of words. "Tch." was all that left his lips as he remained sunk in his seat, man-spreading underneath the desk because his legs were just too long for it.

The girl next to him was chiming in with everything that was going on. Clearly adding more fuel to the fire with her words, but from her tone of voice, he could tell that she was playing around with the situation while being a cheerful girl in the process. So he decided to leave her be, his eye closing back up again as he rested in his seat. Unfortunately for him, his peace ended as soon as his eyes shut because his desk was suddenly kicked forcefully into his leg, which made him quickly snap his eyes open and lean forward, slamming his hand onto the surface while trying to regain his focus from the pain running in his leg from the legs of the desk slamming into him. It was no normal kick either and knew he would have bruises later. When he looked to see who did it, it was clearly the dark-haired girl. What was her name again? ...He didn't catch it. But he asked her what was up with his quiet act and he slowly narrowed his eyes while he looked at her. Does she not realize she kicked the damn desk right into my leg? With force that was not an ordinary kick. his jaw tightened, and his expression had 'annoyed' written all over it. Ryu was minding his own business and she decided to just kick his desk out of the blue. Was that a way to get attention from him? If it was, then she surely got what she wanted.

The grin on her face didn't make the situation lighter. Though Ryu didn't feed into her question and looked ahead of him at the woman in front of him. His hand that rested on the desk slowly turning into a fist. It's just the first day. Don't start getting annoyed now. It'll eventually die down and I'll get used to it. Just like I got used to Chika. the teen thought to himself, only for the girl to continue bothering him, asking his name, complimenting his earrings and proceeding to flick them. Today was an off day for him and he just wanted it to go as smoothly as possible for him, though that would never happen. Not for the next week at the very least. Shoving himself forcefully up from his seat, he moved right up onto Blueberry's desk, his hand slamming on the surface while the bandaged arm grasped the back of her chair, leaning down close to her with this look that could kill, though for some girls it could be considered hot. His voice deep and low enough for her to hear "Not only do you kick my desk into my legs at a force greater than your average kick, but you also don't apologize for doing so. You're lucky I can still walk." his odd colored eyes were locked onto her blue ones.

"Then you proceed to flick my earring as if it's some sort of toy." though he couldn't be mad at something like that for too long, so he didn't bother to continue onto it. So then he moved onto his name, might as well tell her his name just so next time she wouldn't kick his desk through his legs. "Ryunosuke Nakagawa. Ryu for short." he said, not bothering to move from his position till he heard some sort of apology...Or anything for that matter.

This school was going to be… interesting, that was for certain, Tsukino thought with a snort as the kid in the seat in front of her jumped up on his desk and loudly declared himself a supervillain-in-training (in a hero school). She smirked and cocked an eyebrow at the kid, silently approving. Turns out this place wasn't as stuffy as she'd thought.

Pink Hair to the left turned to face her with a smile. "Kudo Ayano, nice to meetcha!" the girl introduced. "Didn't expect things to get so crazy here, is it usually like this in Osaka? I'm pretty new to this city."

Tsukino drew a momentary blank. She was… not the person to ask about normal social interactions. "I'd… say today's pretty standard, yeah. For me." She gave a one shouldered shrug, face turned slightly toward Kudo without directing her attention fully there. The corners of her eyes kept a watch on the wannabe villain, but she observed the other girl, too, making rapid notes. Kudo looked small. Sweet. Innocent. Low-threat level, supposedly, but she'd seen plenty who pulled the sweet and innocent con and knew better than to write the girl off. Still, the kid looked… like a kid. Not the kind of person who should be prepping for a premature death in the line of duty.

“What’s up you two?" The girl to the right said. "Call me Kishiko, don’t worry about immediately remembering it though, if anything you can just call me Captain. How about you-” She cut off, her attention on Crazy Kid.

Captain, Tsukino noted. Maybe just a nickname, but a possible hint to her quirk— something to do with water? Flight? Control over ships, or people? Tsukino shrugged, filing away the information for later, and turned back to Kudo. She could at least subtly grill the girl, probe for more information—

She froze as an oppressive weight fell over her. Her nails cut into her desk as an unseen force willed her to smack into it, and she hissed through her teeth and locked her arms, forcing herself upright. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears. The f— was this?

A low thump as the excited kid who had earlier sprung out of her seat and waved hit the ground with a cry of "What, hey??" alerted her that she alone didn't feel the pull of the weight, but that didn't explain what it was.

The voice at the front of the class did. “Sorry to interject,” Mr. Formal Bow said, “but you don’t seem to understand the gravity of your words. Allow me to grant you insight into the weight of the path you have chosen."

That— that Gravity punk was using his quirk on them? Tsukino's nostrils flared in anger.

You see," the punk continued, "this is an academy for Heroes, not a school for delinquents and vagabonds." He levitated himself in front of Crazy Kid, just close enough that Tsukino wanted to shoot up and strangle him. "Villains…well, all villains will be crushed by my own resolve. ALL. VILLAINS. Even petty ones such as yourself. There will be no mercy. So, tell me, Hitodama, are you truly a villain?"

The weight in the room strengthened, and Tsukino could practically feel her teeth crack as she clamped them down hard. Don't panic don't panic don't panic. Her quirk cried to be used, to knock that prick down to size, but she resisted. The kids didn't deserve to be hit by collateral damage.

"There is a time and place for disruptive behavior and obnoxious jests, but this is not it. This is not a zoo, so do not act like animals and conduct yourselves in a manner befitting a hero while in this classroom. I won't have my own learning disrupted because some of you feel the need to howl." The punk glowered at Crazy Kid for a moment, and then Tsukino slumped as the invisible weight lifted. Dimly she heard him return to his seat with an apology, but for the moment she ignored it and let herself breathe, tightening her limbs to keep them from shivering.

You're fine, she told herself. You're strong. You are not helpless. And you are going to Kick. His. ASS.

"Just a minute," she gritted out to Kudo, before shoving herself off her desk and standing up. "HEY, what the actual frick was that!?" She demanded, storming up the rows to the front of class and planting her hands on the punk's desk. "You wanna talk about acting like animals while pulling a stunt like that, huh? Psycho Shorty didn't bother me half as much as the punk who thought it was ok to use his quirk like a spoiled child pitching a tantrum."

It was a quiet morning in the Naosawa household and Hajiro finally got up...from his red alarm clock's fifth time of clamoring. He was supposed to wake up an hour ago to show his grandmother that he can take initiative. Though that idea went out the door when his bed convinced him that he needed more time with it especially with knowing that today would probably be a bit hectic. Too lazy to turn it off with his own hand, he conjured a small red helper to silence the annoying device. Hajiro opened his eyes and looked at the only window in his room, he let the small hand lift up the crimson curtain that covered the pane. He caught a glimpse of what the morning looked like, cloudy and rainy, though he had already heard the pitter-patter of the spring rain long ago. Khhh...Here goes nothing...

Reluctantly, Hajiro got up and found his uniform which was a bit crumpled due to him just unceremoniously throwing it wherever in his room. He went into the bathroom, quickly changed and headed downstairs to the kitchen. He encountered Aika, his Scottish Fold and Rikuu, his Shiba Inu, on the way over there and petted both of them. Upon approaching, he heard the familiar sounds of sizzling, pots and pans making noise. The delicious smells he'd come to expect every morning. It always made him hungry, regardless of how much he ate the night before. He was a bit saddened that he'd only be here in the weekends, and that's only if he had the time to visit. He'd miss many things in this place, most importantly, his grandmother. Her warm voice filled the room. "Arakan-dear! I thought I was going to have to dump this bucket of cold water on you if you'd stayed a little bit longer, it was your idea after all to make sure you wouldn't oversleep~"

"W-where?!" He scanned the kitchen for the dreaded bucket and to his relief, there wasn't any of the sort. "My, my, I was just playing a little joke on you. Now you haven't looked at me at all since you came here. I'm waiting for my good morning~" Hajiro looked up at his grandmother. She had her hands on her hips and was at the stove. A frying pan was on it and cooking were eggs and mouth-watering bacon. Though Matonabe Naosawa, called as Madam by most, was seventy-five-years old, she looked as if she was twenty years younger. Not to mention that she was still in good shape and her silver hair would make people think that she just had it dyed. She could have easily passed as Hajiro's mother. "...Good morning. Sorry Grandma, I was gonna get up an hour ago but I was real tired. I should have helped with cooking. Ugh, I'm such an idiot."

"Arakan, Arakan. No worries, I had it under control and I wasn't really going to dump water on you or anything~" She smiled at him and finished cooking their breakfast. "I don't blame you, you did stay up reading info about the academy until midnight. Usually I would have said something but it was your birthday yesterday." Riiiight. The birthday party. It was completely different from last year's. Where laughter and many of his so-called "friends" were part of the bash, his sixteenth birthday was just a quiet celebration with his grandmother. She was going to buy him a cake but he declined and ate like normal, which only made yesterday more depressing. No friends, no parents, no cake. Though he was glad, all of those crazy people from his past were out of sight, he hoped. At his new school, he'd be encountering all kinds of new people, not that he was excited about meeting or getting to know any of them or anything. It was just that the people over there were ALMOST at his league unlike the pathetic backstabbing group in Akatana Junior High. A teacher with a lethal touch? A strange principal with an undeniably mysterious Quirk? He couldn't wait.

He shook off the thoughts and joined his grandma at the dining table. They said their thanks and Hajiro immediately went at it. He started to rapidly eat but then his grandmother gave him a look. He stopped and began to eat at a slower pace. It wasn't only because he was hungry but he wanted to get to Osaka early despite the fact that he got up late.
"Eat slow and have a conversation with me while you're at it. How're you feeling about this change? I know you'll miss your pet friends. Not to mention me and my cooking teehee~"

[Timeskip 45 minutes]

He could have taken the time to admire the building but time wouldn't allow it. Rushing, Hajiro flew up the flights of stairs. He underestimated the time it took to get to the academy from where he lived, in fact he just dropped all of his dorm stuff and immediately left. Tch, I'm never gonna take that smelly, cramped train again, next time I'll just fly on a big hand. He finally found his classroom and barged in. He was one of the last people to arrive though it didn't matter to him since he made it in time. Everyone was either standing or sitting at their assigned seat. As he was looking for his, he saw a few eyes glance at him. He glared back at no one in particular and sat down.

[Timeskip to after the Headmaster's announcement]

Many of his fellow classmates had already began to interact with others. Some introduced themselves and enthusiastically explained their quirks. Hajiro didn't even bother to join in what he thought was senseless commotion, he knew who was who and what their Quirk was. Telling others about his own quirk might just make him more vulnerable, not that he wasn't confident about his own abilities.

Instead, Hajiro looked around for someone he could pick on until the period ended. He smirked and looked at the girl in front of him and another one in back of him. The demon quirk user and the self-proclaimed puppeteer.
"Hey what're a bunch of delicate little girls doing at a place like this?" He shouted it loud enough for all to hear, though he knew the two of them were probably as powerful as he was. He just wanted to be intentionally annoying and abrupt, surely this would make people steer clear of him. So what if he's hated, he'd be fine going solo for the rest of his Taiyou years. Heck, even after that. He waited for their reactions, even if it might earn him a slap on the face or a black eye. They could try.

-- On Ji Kyoke --

All of this was... a lot to take in. It was as though On Ji's head was constantly swiveling around the classroom as numerous students would stand up, announcing themselves, along with a few showing off their quirks. Nervously as she watched, On Ji reached forward to grab her water bottle sitting on the edge of her desk to take a long nervous sip. Now, not to flex or anything but On Ji's water bottle was one to be jealous of, having a pleasant soft lilac-y pink color coating the outside reflecting the girl's soft and pleasant personality. However even a small tap of the bottle would result in a small metal clinggg as a result of the water bottle itself being metal so not only could the water keep a nice pleasant cold temperature throughout the day, On Ji could also use it to her quirk's advantage if needed, using the sounds bouncing off the water bottle for her to absorb and later use as a blast if there ever was an emergency.

Setting down the water bottle, a certain student's words caught On Ji's attention, causing her look up and an upset look forming in her face as her eyebrows furrowed. Hitodama announcing his plan to become a villain.. On Ji shook her head as her frown deepened even more into her face.
"Villains destroy lives and tear apart families... nothing about them in any way is cool, and there is nothing funny about claiming you're going to become one even if this is a joke... but if you're serious I truly pity you." Although her voice was nothing more then a whisper and could barley be heard past the few students seated near her, On Ji's stern gaze could tell a thousand stories. Luckily for On Ji, another student stepped up to take on the 'villain'. Jin-Woo, the boy who had earlier jumped up to announce himself, seemed to announce a few words to Hitodama before using his quirk that not only affected who he was aiming for but also made On Ji feel a bit of the weight herself. The girl couldn't help but smile, impressed by Jin-Woo's quirk that not only was powerful enough to for a whole person down, but could still make an entire classroom feel it's affects.
'He seems like someone to be friends with... both personality wise and strength wise'.

However as more and more students seemed to shout at each other or simply congregate amongst each other, the sounds bouncing around the walls constantly seemed to suck back to On Ji, making the girl begin to feel sluggish. Groaning softly, On Ji would place her hands on her forehead while her coiley hair falling around her hands to help hide her face, the sounds figuratively hanging a weight on the girl and blocking out everything else going on in the class around her. 'water.... water will help drown out this feeling' On Ji reached out blindly to grab her water bottle sitting at the edge of her desk, but as the girl reached out for the bottle, her fingertips aggressively hit it and sent it ricocheting off her desk's edge and smashing to the ground with a loud CLANGGGGG!!! Embarrassed, On Ji quickly scrambled out of her desk and kneeled down to grab her fallen bottle, a strong pressure seemed to force it's way to her out stretched palm and as her hand made contact with her water bottle a loud popping sound exploded around the room and the water bottle shot into the air and went zooming through the air until it made contact with the wall allllll the way at the front of the room sounding yet another loud crash to echo across the room as it finally clattered to the ground. On Ji, still kneeling on the ground, stared at the whole spectacle, her eyes widening even more till her face reached an absolutely horrified look as the bottle rolling to a stop just a few inches away from where the teacher had stood earlier when announcing herself.

Nightingale
Saegusa Yasuchika
as I continue to bloom in that artificial flower garden
“Good thing mom and dad let you attend that school for freaks. Bet you’ll fit in real quick with those monsters.”

Chika’s hunched back showed neither a flinch nor a hint of dismay. Behind her, her brother’s look of disgust bore down at her haughtily, his lips curled into a sneer. When his sister showed no signs of diverting her attention away from her task of lacing up her boots, the boy huffed and stormed back down the foyer and into the hallway. In any case, she wasn’t someone worth wasting his breath on.

The moment Chika felt the house tremble as her brother shut his room’s door violently, she gave her laces one final tug and lifted her head. Her eyes, one red and one amber, briefly flashed with hatred before it disappeared without a trace. Had it been eight years ago, she might have shrieked in anger at his provocative slander. However, she’d learned over the years that the person who revealed their rawest emotions first was the loser. Even if it weren’t for the sake of keeping her brother from derisively gloating over these petty victories, she hadn’t spoken in the presence of her nuclear family—if they could still be called that—in years.

The only reason why she’d even stayed home an extra night was to bask in the hateful glares of her parents as she mutely insisted on eating one final meal together.

“To Osaka,” she mouthed silently to herself. After picking herself off of the floorboards and dusting off her skirt, Chika turned towards the interior of the house one last time. In the end, her parents couldn’t even bear to see her off. Well, even if they wished to take this opportunity to forget about existence, she was determined to make it big. Her quirk wasn’t offensively strong, but it had its merits, and, to top it off, she was resourceful. If she appeared in broadcasts frequently enough, it would be impossible to ignore this hateful face of hers. She’d make sure of it.

Chika’s skewed, almost villainous grin heralded a cold laugh sounded low enough to remain barely audible even within the silence of the genkan. And with a light creak and click of the door, the petite girl made her way to the train which would perhaps finally whisk her away to the school that would break her fetters.

---

Roughly thirty minutes of watching raindrops roll and melt off of the train’s windows later, Chika carted her luggage into her dorm. Checking the time, the girl opted for leaving her suitcases unpacked in favor of heading to class early. First impressions were important, and the excuse of being late due to getting lost was the lamest way to start the year.

Observing the students in the classroom while pretending to be disinterested, Chika grew pleasantly surprised to find out that not only was a classmate from her old junior high present, but her “beloved” cousin was also seated in front of her. On one hand, the vertical disparity would prove to cause problems with seeing the blackboard, but at least sitting directly behind him would give her more opportunities to observe him closely.

After patiently waiting out the homeroom teacher and headmaster’s speeches, Chika leaned forward in an attempt to poke Ryu on the back to catch his attention. The boy to her left, however, spoke up first, introducing himself as Hitoshi.

Flexing her fingers once but nonetheless choosing to retract her hand, the girl turned to return the greeting. No matter, she could address her cousin later. If anything, it was more important to become better acquainted with her classmates and potential future coworkers. The boy also had a good point: the uniforms of the school truly were a bit of a disappointment. They were decent, but they certainly weren’t the cutest around.

"They aren't my favorite, but, well, I look good in anything, so I suppose it'll do," Chika said in a joking tone, giving herself a light twirl for emphasis. She didn’t forget to give Hitoshi a once over and nodded at the orderly state of his attire. “You wear it pretty well yourself.”

Seeing that there was no one to her right and her cousin was currently busy involving himself in a silly argument with another girl, Chika leaned on her tiptoes to wave and give a friendly smile to the boy behind Hitoshi.

"Anyway, I'm Chika. A pleasure," she said, "My quirk isn't suited for combat, so I'll be count-"

Chika found herself cutting her words short when the altercation on the other side of the classroom reached its vertex. Her right hand dropped down and balled into a fist, though her irritation had yet to show itself on her delicate visage. The smile frozen on her face quickly turned strained as she listened in on the words tossed between the three rather noisy individuals.

Oh, she hated being interrupted.

“As I was saying,” Chika finally continued, “I’m not quite so aggressive like Jin McEdgelord over there, and my quirk is only good for quickly patching up wounds, so I’ll be supporting you all from the back. I look forward to our cooperation.” Though her smile was back in place, as if nothing had occurred, a slightly frosty quality remained within her eyes.

How foolish, she inwardly scoffed. No matter where she went, humans still insisted on oppressing their viewpoints on those considered weaker or below them with force. Not only that, but the Jin boy was an ignorant fool. The world was never cleanly black and white. More importantly, “villains” and “heroes” were simply labels that the public decided to slap onto individuals arbitrarily, regardless of their true moral values. Besides, there was no reason to disrupt the class by taking a child’s delusions so seriously.

AYANO KUDO
W/ HAJIRO
"I'd… say today's pretty standard, yeah. For me."

"Really?" Ayano's replied with a slight tilt of her head. Though she maintained a smile and still seemed upbeat, her eyes told a different story. They were filled with concern and worry—as if she came to the realization that she had perhaps bitten off more than she could chew. Ayano had expected a more focused and calm learning environment when she had enrolled to Taiyou, yet not even an hour had passed and she had already experienced more chaos than she had ever experienced in her entire life thus far.

Before she could continue with more questions, the girl to Tsukino's left chimed in. She was just a smidge taller than Ayano herself with a head of short, black hair. Ayano's eyes shifted to the newcomer, and her welcoming smile followed suit. “What’s up you two? Call me Kishiko, don’t worry about immediately remembering it though, if anything you can just call me Captain. How about you-”

A sudden intense force cut Kishiko off. It felt as if the weight of a dozen bricks pressed against the small Ayano. Her body snapped back towards the desk and she slammed her palms against the hard wooden surface. Her eyes narrowed, her lips began to slightly quiver. Though as quickly as the effects of this force began, they suddenly...stopped. Immediately a sigh of relief left Ayano's lips and she was slumped against her desk, her eyes left half-open and her face pressed against it. The only words escaping her lips were, "What was that...".

"Just a minute," Tsukino said to the pink-haired girl, and all Ayano could return in response was a feeble attempt at a thumbs-up.

As Ayano laid there she could hear the ensuing chaos around her. Particularly from Tsukino—the girl Ayano had originally pegged as a quiet and reserved person suddenly blew up, harshly scolding the person who had presumably affected the entire room with their quirk. By this point Ayano was simply glad she hadn't been specifically targeted by any of this craziness—yet.

"Hey what're a bunch of delicate little girls doing at a place like this?"

"I'm not sure," Ayano responded rather simply, her voice muffled by the desk under her. Truth was, if this chaotic environment was a persistent occurrence she wasn't sure how she would survive. Followed by a short pause, Ayano looked up from the desk to face the boy who had said the comment with a frown. "And who're you calling a delicate little girl? You don't look that strong either, y'know." Normally she would've amused the slight towards herself and rose from her chair, acting more upset than she really was—though now all she wanted was a nap.
