Not All of Reality is as it Seems...
This world is strange one. IR Slogan |
Impossible Conspiracies. Flat Earth. A Corrupt Government. Nowadays, most things in the world (though specifically in America), have been very negative. But nothing could be worse than those things, right? To most civilians and everyday people, no. Yet to the officials that run the law in the four corners of the USA, there's something else going on. Cultic rituals going awry, strange creatures, and unexplainable events have begun to plague the U.S, and the International Police Department has been keeping quiet. Finally, with incident after incident having slowly broken them down, they snap. The I.P.D. decide to found and create a new branch of the law who are specifically occupied with dealing with these strange events, creatures and objects: The Investigative Reporters.
As stated before, the main purpose of the IRs are to deal with supernatural or just strange things that happen around the United States. But you aren't just recording them. The Investigative Reporters research the events and objects they investigate, looking up backstories and finding reasons (if they can) behind the things that happen. They make case files, interview witnesses and explore "haunted" locations for evidence. Unlike other government groups, think of the IR as an indie-version of a mix between the X-Files and Supernatural.
You, will be a journalist hired by the I.P.D. to be part of the I.R. Your character will most likely have encountered some strange thing in the past that would encourage them to accept the job opportunity. In your line of work, you will first get acquainted with the rules of the job, your co-workers, and the building and expenses you will receive. However, after this, the story will be in sort of an episodic fashion. I will create events and disasters that you and your buddies will be working on, with an overarching story and interesting characters. At first, it will be a bit easy with the I.D.P. forwarding you info and details about cases and files, but sometimes the ones who are superior aren't always the most trustworthy.
