Hello, I'm Kairnoct, and while I'm a long time writer and role-player, I am new to this group. My first RPG video game was the original Zelda, back when it was amazing high tech that it allowed you to save the game. I was introduced to tabletop role-playing in high-school when some of my friends were excited that the 3rd edition of Dungeons and Dragons would be released soon, and I wanted to know more. My primary experiences with RP has been through tabletop RPGs, with a healthy dose of being involved in MMO RP communities off and on, along with just a dash of LARPing. I also have solo written a fair amount of Fantasy and Sci-Fi fiction over the years under the Kairnoct pen-name, as well as under my birth name (a few years back I indie-published a young adult urban fantasy novel under my birth name, to no success, but hey, I finished something!)
My experience RPing in a forum environment myself has been limited, however, I have had a huge amount of exposure to forum RP through friends and loved ones deeply involved in various forum RP communities. I'm dipping my toes into this now because, especially now that I'm in my 30s, keeping together a solid face to face gaming group is rough, and working weird hours it is hard to really engage with most MMO RP communities.
Anyways, that is a first intro to me, and I hope to get to know more about all of you as time goes on!
