Intolerance in the Public Forum - critiques welcome

Red Thunder

Two Thousand Club
Once there was a posting board

That many in the square

Would often attach notices

Of pers'nal nature there

For some would place ideas

To inspire great debate

Or they might share some good advice

So none should learn too late

Others, proud of something done

Would share that friends might know

Or sometimes jokes or funny sketch

Someone might like to show

And for a time its purpose

Was maintained well indeed

About each thing respectful speech

Was strictly guaranteed

But on a chilly morning

The townsfolk waked to see

Upon a former posted thought

Mud smeared haphazardly

The general consensus

Held true among them all

Twas such a disrespectful thing

But none would take the fall

Though the dirt had left a stain

The board was soon thus cleaned

And deed was forgotten that day

For twas over, it seemed

But as the days continued

So did the disrespect

For every morn more plastered mud

Was found on pages wrecked

In time it mattered no more

The hour in which twas done

And mud began continual flight

Neath Moon or under Sun

Until at last a poster

While placing up his thought

Did in his unsuspecting face

A slab of mud he caught

And woe upon the small town

For deed unjustly wrought

What started disapproving mud

Became a battle fought

And families were sundered

Dear friends with fault each found

En masse they became too concerned

With tearing others down

Until at last a small voice

Was heard above the din

"Why not," she said, "let others be?

"Keep disapproval in?

"No one asked for approval

"On thoughts or achievements

"You cannot be polite? Than pass!

"Respect is common sense!"

But none would deign to hear her

For so concerned were they

Their opinion be heard by all

So continued the fray

In time upon the village

At last a silence fell

And no one stirred, twas peace in town

For all Death did compel

Hm, that's interesting. Could almost be a folksong.

There are some grammatical and syntactical errors, but aside from that it's... fine. Nothing mind-blowing or terribly ambitious, but with a bit of editing it'll work just fine.

I love it, I love it, I love it!

It sounds like something from a movie, or something that a fortune teller would say, which I love!

(Basically, it's awesome.)
