Futuristic Insert cliche scifi title here.

He paused the rapid clacking on the keyboard. “Explosions? Space? Sounds bad, very bad. Would explain prosthetics. Would prefer to have attached limbs. Works for you it seems. Like I said in station. Could have requested multiple time for limbs and new bones.” He tilted his head staring at the prosthetics. “So they are good yes? No issues? Much…what is the word? Twisting? Twerking? Tweaking. Yes tweaking. Tweaking sounds right. Much tweaking to optimize them.”

He rested his head on his right fist, seemingly staring off into the distance. His lower arms at his sides and other upper arm was across his chest. “Hmm, must say. Prefer organic. Natural. Repairs itself. Though modification is possible. Albit is genetic. Genetic modification. Very powerful very dangerous. Mechinal augmentation easier. Far easier. Yes, not liable to turn your insides into goo. Very bad, very bad.” He looked at Jade “Mechanic, of course you like machines yes? Is it passion or obsession?”

Jade nodded slightly rubbing the back of her neck "yeah... borderline obsession... I tend to tinker more than anything else. Always been this way always will be." She smirked slightly. "They said I could have my limbs regenerated but it was very long and painful. Artificial seemed to be easier and quicker. I have modified my prosthetic a good bit. Added function and weapons to it... nothing energy draining more like tools and a blade." She demonstrated by making a fist and tensing some carbon fibers which cause a blade to pop out of the wrist it was razor sharp. Another twitch in the arm and the blade retracted. "It helps in a pinch. Other then my limbs the rest of me is normal... I have some carbon fibers reinforcing my spine but its more or less organic." She thought a moment trying to see if there was anything else she could think of that could be of importance.

He nodded, "Hmm fascinating...yes very interesting. Prefer pistols. 4 to be exact. Also, dense musculature. Scary in bar fights, 4 arms and medical knowledge. Also dense musculature. very useful. Powerful. not stealthy. Much noise. Then again stealth not...important to me, yes, not important. Odd for doctor yes." He wandered back to his computer and began his typing again.

"Alright, back to business yes? Prosthetics explained good, good. Now onto next part. any-other conditions? family illness? allergies? psychologcial issues? many many potential things. Cannot pull from medical files. Need to know if treatment is needed. hopefully not. Love using skills, though if I'm using skills. things have gone wrong, very wrong. Like helping, operating, bad if need to. Any rate, problems yes? Do you- wait no. not good way to ask. Do you have any...ummm..." again he blinked repeatedly before snapping then speaking slowly something he hadn't done really this whole time, "Issues that you would like to discuss for medical purposes, yes that is right, that sounds good. Not bad way of asking yes? Or is not good? am very Blunt."

Jade made a note not go get hurt or do anything that would require surgery since it didn't seem like a good idea. She thought a moment trying to remember if there was any thing significant about her family history. "Wh... my family was healthy for the most part. Had an aunt who end up with cancer but she smoked a lot as well." She shrugged slightly before gnawing on her bottom lip lightly. She did have one issue and it wasn't something that was easily treated or something she was really sure how to deal with. Part of her wanted to keep quiet while the other figured they would find out eventually. She sighed. "I do have panic attacks though..." she muttered. "Mostly from explosions. I also get anxious during take off and hyper space jumps from the bad escape and all. Sleep isn't something that comes all that easy either, which is why I spend most of my time tinkering or working.

He listened carefully to Jade, “Family healthy…aunt smoked probable cause of cancer.” He looked over at hade when she spoke about her panic attacks. “Interesting very interesting. Or to say, sad very sad. Am medical doctor not psychologist. Can’t do much, sorry.” He continued typing though the pace was substantially reduced. “Don’t think I would be good candidate to help either. Very obsessive. Very…energetic yes energetic, could not sit in chair listening for hours on end. Prefer to immediately help. Very disheartening when I can’t. Think it comes back from home. Sitting on hands. stupid medical council. Sit there do nothing. Do 12 ceremonies while person on table is waiting for medical attention…Stupid, Stupid! RAGHH”

He immediately launched into long series of curses in his native language. The he stopped a few seconds in. He turned back to Jade from his work station. “Sorry. Very sorry. Extremely sorry. Home is annoying place. Very annoying, wonder how survived when it takes an hour to do anything. Being generous in estimate.” He motioned to her. “You would hate. Mechanics do very good work. but, take long to do anything. Every other tool to pick up requires ritual. Invoke name of an ancestor. Sometimes us non-powered tools because, “Is tradition” 3 hour job take 15. Very annoying. Also a…what is word…spam? Stan? Wait no. Stan is a name. Hmm….Scam! yes scam! scam is the word! Yes, is seemingly giant scam. Sorry tangent again. Kept you here to long. Clean bill of health. Feel free to go about ship. Much repair to do. Very annoying. After last engineer, no one with good knowledge how to fix ship. Sik trys…” He lowered his head closer to jade, in an apparent attempt to whisper. “Is not very good. Patch jobs like blind doctor. Respect captain yes. But engineer he is not. If ship was patient, and metaphor was true, would spend long time operating, and have patient in long term recovery. Much work to do.”

Oliver left the bar, having paid for his drink, and headed towards the ship he had been asked to pilot. He hadn't really decided if it was even worth it, he'd figure it out when he saw the ship. He really didn't like people, he'd rather be flying cargo around, or back smuggling and making huge amounts of money, albeit illegally. He sighed and looked up, seeing the ship in question. His jaw dropped. She was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. He whistled and ran a hand along the bottom of the hull while he walked up the ramp into the ship. He called out, "Hey, beautiful ship you got here."

Jade shrugged slightly when he mentioned not being able to do anything about her anxiety but she honestly didn't expect him to have some sort of quick fix. It was something she had lived with since she left earth and could just deal with. It was a small price to pay for being a live. She stared at Connor as he went on his rant not eve her translator able to tell what he jabbered on about in anger. He really must hate his home planet, then again from the sounds of it she would too. Rituals and spirituality was never her forte. "It's fine." She replied when he finally quieted from his rage.

She tilted her head slightly as he started talking about Sik and the ship. The state of the interior made her skin crawl to say the least but it's something that was fixable. The outside was well taken care of, at least. Though it would be a while before the innards of the ship were up to her standards. She nodded over to Connor. "No worries, I'll fix it up. I've seen ships in worse condition and made them livable. So this isn't.. horrifically bad or anything." She assured. Though it would take a while for the ship to be completely patched up. She chuckled softly at his comparison to a blind doctor and believed it wholeheartedly. "I'll do my best." She nodded. "After I check out S.E.U." She muttered remembering she had to do that before setting to work around the ship.

"Jade looked slightly disturbed by the condition of the ship, what do you say about it?" She pivoted her head to look at him, eyes blinking as she formulated an appropriate response. She figured it would be best to just tell the truth. "In all honesty, although the exterior is nice, in a whole state the ship is in very poor condition. Much work will need to be done in order to get it up to par with the other vessels we may run into." She decided to turn her whole body to face him, glancing around the area she was in. "I sincerely apologize if that offends you, but I assumed you'd prefer honesty over something sugar-coated. She then looked at him again, searching his face for any sort of offense. Although... she really can't see his face. Shit, this was going to be problematic. Her systems immediately prepped for threat; she relied on face features quite heavily to judge emotion and the such. "However," she started, tensing up. "If you do not wish for me to edit the ship then I shall not." She heard somebody call out and turned to look at the entrance to the ship.

@Godman873

Sik looked around at the ship after hearing S.E.U.'s response. "-Its a patch job in all honesty. Most of the damages to the ship don't actually affect the performance, it isn't designed like other ships so what you are seeing, or scanning for you. Not trying to offend.-" Sik was always bad with talking to androids alone, on his planet they never grew up with 'artificial life forms' mostly due to the odd atmosphere that shut down all electronic devices. Due to said atmosphere there was a very complicated system required in order to actually get off and on the planet, it was one of the few reasons he never actually visited his former home. Hearing someone compliment the ship Sik walked to the ramp to discover the pilot he contacted. Finding a pilot at all was increasingly difficult since they were usually hired by planetary Navies were usually the first to recruit any good pilot that came across, second source was the IGEA, otherwise known as the InterGalactic Enforcement Agency, while their pilots were the best their foot soldiers and tanks were among the best. "-I see you finally made it to the ship.-" Sik said arms crossed slightly annoyed by the late appearance.

Oliver looked at the captain, the look of disappointment and minor disdain clearly showing on his face. He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sorry, I was busy. Can I get a look at the engine and the systems, I want to know what I'm flying with before I commit fully. I don't care if this thing looks nice on the outside, if it's not flyable it's not flyable." He glaced around, his left eye zooming in on those things that seemed detrimental. The exterior may have been nice, but the interior was so-so. He groaned. If he had signed on to fly a patch job ship, he'd be gone first chance he got. He shook his head.

@Godman873

Sik was now getting annoyed at the idea the ship might not be flyable. Not sure what to do with the rage he punched a dent in the wall and screamed "-The ship is flarking flyable!-" Releasing he put a dent in the ship he slammed his head against the wall at full force causing another dent only too kick the wall again in rage causing yet another dent. "-My ship is in perfect working condition! Get over the interior problems! Everything is still fine!-" He marched into the cockpit and began to launch the ship with no warning. "-See!? No issues so far! Now stop mentioning the interior of the ship!" While Sik was calmed down the ship was far from it, it had a bit of a rough start up due to smashing into a catwalk but it was actually leaving the hangar. After Sik turned back to the console to see the ship had only just exited the hangar. "-See? It works.-" And it did, it worked like it was fresh off the production line, with most of the issues being solely cosmetic on the ship. Sik set the ship to stall just outside of the giant station ready to turn around if anyone wanted off. "-If anyone wants off I will turn the ship around but right now I don't feel like dealing with all the fees and discussions at the moment.-"

Connor heard the commotion from his medbay and headed to where he heard the yelling and the loud noises. He shook his head, yup this was normal, he'd come to expect this from Sik after knowing him for years. He sounded exasperated His speech started of normalish but soon reached rushed and extremely loud, "Sik, dents? again? why do? More busy work! Much more busy work! STOP DENTING SHIP! DO NOT CARE IF YOURS. IS BAD. ONE DAY PUNCTURE FUEL LINE. DON'T WANT TO EXPLODE! CAN HEAL MANY THINGS! NOT THAT." He turned to notice a newcomer. "Who are you? what is this? more new people? more check ups?" He grabbed the scanner at his side and waved it infront of the newcomer. "Blood presure normal. Liver damage. drinking probably, yes much drinking. lungs under strain. Yes...much smoking. make doctor cringe." He walked off back to his office to type another report.

Jade jumped slightly when she heard the yelling and banging from out side wondering what the hell was going on. She followed along with Connor to see their "esteemed" Captain throwing a tantrum of sorts denting the walls needlessly. Jades eye twitched slightly but she stayed back letting Connor gone his own needed tyrant. What the hell did I get my self into... She thought to herself wondering if she agreeing to this manic quest was the best decisions. She winced slightly hearing the forced start up, another thing to check. Thought she didn't voice her concerns since Sik had just calmed down.

"-See? It works.-"

Just barely.... She thought again before shaking her head and looking over to the new comer. He looked more or less human as well with a cybernetic eye. Connor scanned him over finding some health issues and couldn't help a small chuckle at his antics as he walked off to the clinic once more.

S.E.U flinches as the captain rammed into the wall several times, then let out a 'terrified squeak' sort of noise. Another weird programming thing, she knew, as her system went haywire detecting threats from the abruptly moving vehicle. She immediately planted herself on the floor, hands grasping at the pristine surface. "What in the world!" She scoffed to herself, sending a sharp glare in the captains direction. Internally, she was cringing at the way the ship sounded, thinking that there was most certainly something wrong with that. She stood up slowly, monitors starting to decrease in threat levels, then whipped around. The doctor was busy giving the newcomer a scan and Sik was clearly upset by his tardiness. She let her hand form a small wave in his direction, then turned to Jade. "Hello, Jade." The words were flat and if one listened closely they might hear a bit of irritation etched into her words. "I assume you're ready?"

Oliver groaned as the Captain went on his rant and cringed heavily as he felt the ship shudder under him. He rushed to the console. "Get out of my way, you'll damage her!" He stroked the console and went through a systems check, whispering quietly to the ship, "There there, it's okay, I won't let the idiots hurt you." He glared at the Captain and the others. "From now on, let me handle the ship. Do we have a mechanic? I'll need him or her to recallibrate the controls to my specifications, otherwise this won't work right." He glared at the Captain one more time before returning to the ship's controls, mumbling to himself about idiocy and more money while he ran a full flight control check.

Jade looked over as S.E.U. spoke up her tone hold just as much irritation as she currently felt. "Yeah, should be fairly quick though." She muttered tapping away at the bracer on her arm. It wasn't the first time she gave an android a tune-up. In her time in space she tried to learn about every conceivable type of tech out there. She was far from learning it all but as an encyclopedia when it came to base level tech and engineering. A a light was projected from the side side facing S.E.U. shining brightly over the droid in a scanning fashion. If functioned much like the doctors scanner but didn't read any organic parts only mechanical. It was much easier than taking her apart trying to inspect ever thing. Plus it brought up related information such as any known malfunctions or recalls on the model.

She glanced over at the new comer as he rushed to the front of the ship spouting off about Sik's less than tactful piloting of the ship. She blinked a few times as he started talking to the ship finally able to see what other did when she was working. Why did the make such a big deal over it? Didn't seem nearly as disturbing or strange as other made it out to be. "I'll be there in a minute." She called over as he called for a mechanic, she was gonna have her hands full for quite a while. quickly scanning over the files and reports that came up everything looked green in terms of the Android. "Hm... Everything checks out physically. Just need to check your coding." She said pulling a small cord from her pocket plugging one end to her bracer and holding the other end. "That alright with you?"

Sik looked at the pilot who was clearly attached to the ship. He backed away from the console with his arms up. "-She's all yours!-" He nodded towards Jade after a moment signaling that she was the mechanic. "-She is the mechanic, as new as you are.-" Sik suddenly remembered something he was supposed to stop for before getting to Hiraya station. Running in the direction of the cargo bay he started to worry. If he still had what he thought he had they might have to leave sooner than expected. The motion sensor lights turned on the moment he entered the bay. Looking around the heavily defend and secured room he saw exactly what he was worried about. A medium sized Anubi totem sat in the cargo bay, secured and protected, still on the ship. Angered with himself even further for not getting rid of it he shouted for Conner not even using the intercom system built into the ship. "-Connor! Get in here!-" The Anubi totem was a dangerous relic to actually get not to mention it was treasured among the Anubi people. Worst of it all was that the actual trek to the relic and inside the ruins caused their previous crew to theoretically jump ship. Among all the problem that it caused nothing was worse than when the Anubi found out that Sik and his crew were actually successful. Upon returning to the city they attempted to take the totem at gunpoint and refuse to fufill the contract the crew was hired for. It was a horrible ordeal Sik did not want to go through it again but there it was in the cargo bay, sitting there, taunting him.

S.E.U. blinked as she was scanned, sensors feeding information to and from the other device. She waited patiently, glancing at the 'pilot' while she was scanned. It made her slightly happy when Jade mentioned that everything looked okay. It was when she asked to look at her coding that she felt a bit of uncertainty. Much of her coding was majorly incomplete, she knew that and recognized it every day. To this date, she hadn't bothered to get it fixed seeing as it provided no hindrance to her abilities. It was simply uncommon for a unit such as herself to not show more emotion, which S.E.U. supposed it made her more tactical in a way. Nonetheless, she debated whether she should let Jade take a look. It wasn't as if missing code would mean she was dysfunctional, but what if Sik didn't like that? Maybe Jade could fix it? She nodded her head yes. "Go ahead." She unhinged a small plate on her shoulder, revealing a set of ports and turning the shoulders towards Jade.

"Thanks" Jade muttered plugging the cord in and tapping the screen. It flashed black and green briefly before lines of coding scrolled across the hollogram there were a few small red glitches here and there but they were harmless and very common in all tech. More information came up about alterations, previous owners, and other historical information store with in coding. Everything looked perfectly fine up until several line of red came up. "The heck..." She muttered bringing up several screens separate from the original one to the point she had several see through monitors in front of her. She furrowed her eye brows as she tried to resolve some of the coding issues. So many ugly red lines interrupting perfect lines of green and white irritated her to no end. Coding was so tedious but a necessary evil.

Fighting the urge to try and resolve every line of missed coding Jade settled on finding out the origin. "Hm... Your emotion coding is incomplete..." She muttered softly examining further into the issue. "Nothing that will inhibit function or prove dangerous..." She mused aloud before closing out all the screens. "Everything else check out. You're pretty much fine save for that one minor issue..."

She nodded, already realizing it but at least now she knew for certain. There was the chance it was on purpose, but that would be rather odd. She flicked close the shoulder plate, 'sighing'. "Are you sure it won't hurt anything?" she questioned, turning fully to look at Jade, blinking once. Blinking was simply an automatic feature on her; she didn't need to, but it made her appear more human. Most people would be creeped out by something just staring blankly at them, android or not. It was odd, normally she wouldn't care about such a minor coding error, but it had been bugging her for a while now. It reminded her of the time when she saw another S.E.U. unit; it didn't look like her, but they all carried the same brand imprint on the opposite shoulder containing the sub-ports. The other unit had looked so happy, watching after somebody's children, most likely while they were away at work or such. She found herself thinking too deeply into things and blinked again, wiping the thought process from her running code. Any thoughts of the topic were pushed back and if any sort of mood change had been noticed, she was now once again passive and dull. "Never mind, I'm sure your judgement is correct," she stated, then turned away, going to explore the ship.

Connor followed Sik’s voice “Alright, what is problem? Why are you-” as he entered the cargo bay he realized what he wanted. “NO, NO, NO, WHY IS THAT STILL HERE!? VERY BAD WANT IT OFF SHIP! CAN WE SPACE IT? CAN WE PLEASE SPACE? IT, ANUBI SECOND LEAST FAVORITE PLANET.” He looked at Sik, “Why? Really can we toss? Space? Space it? Please? Forgot the event, was bad. Moving on never again please, would only take two seconds. slid into airlock. go to cockpit. press button! No problem, yes!?"

Sik looked to Connor who was just as worried about totem as he was. "-As much as I want to shove it out an airlock we spent way too much effort to get this for nothing. There has to be someone willing to pay us something for it, perhaps a collector will pay for it?-" Sik suggested having a feeling Connor would rather jump out the airlock himself then keep the totem on the ship any longer, not to mention who knows if the Anubi were following the ship. Sik felt his stomach hit the floor, the Anubi were all about the death sentence for any crime if you were found guilty. They used an 'ancient ritual' by selecting an appropriate item to the crime you committed and if it was heavier than a block of Kharzi metal you were off to jail, if it were lighter you were free to go. Grave Robbing was worth a bag of Yuni meat but the meat was so dense it actually weighed heavier than the metal. Crime syndicates found a way around the system though, corrupting the judges and using a special scale whenever they were caught so they could always go free. Sik's crew went to go find the totem for a buyer but once they did the buyer turned around to cheat them out of the money. The whole affair was something that wouldn't have happened thousands of years ago but when they found earth and achieved a pseudo 'god status' their way of life went a near total overhaul. Sik crossed his arms and sighed. "-I don't know what to do and I am sure they still want the totem but I want my draking money.-"

Oliver, sitting at the controls of the ship, felt rather uncomfortable with the excessive amount of movement required to steer the ship. He groaned and looked behind him, tapping his fingers on the side of the chair while he waited for the mechanic to finish. She finally finished and he called out, "Hey, can you come re-calibrate and reconfigure these controls, the sensitivity is far too low." He pointed to the controls, "How can I fly this at H4 with controls this slow? Hyper-sensitize them so that I can actually react at any decent speed... please." He added the last part, remembering that people don't like being ordered to do things. He groaned internally. He couldn't wait to just be flying through space, able to ignore everyone and everything on the ship as he focused all of his attention on space. He glanced at the mechanic again, "Also, run a diagnostic, tell me what kind of engine we have, the top speed, and what kind of coolant the engine uses. I don't want the engines to blow in the middle of a trip at H7."

(Okay, explanation of the space jargon. Speed levels are measured from 1-20. Standard speeds, 1-10, are prefixed with and S. For example, S5. Hyperspeeds, 11-20, are marked by and H. Standard speeds are proportional to the speed of sound, with S10 being equivalent to Mach 10, which is 10 times the speed of sound. Most large cargo crafts travel between SS3(Sub-standard) and S2. Hyperspeeds are direct correlations to the speed of light, with H1 being 1/10 the speed of light, H2 being 2/10, etc. The fastest any non-military ship is allowed to fly is H6, (however if you have a decent engine, you can go around H8 without trouble.) with Military being allowed as high as H8. H9 is extremely dangerous, and H10 is basically impossible, being equivalent or damn near to the speed of light. It has been attempted, but the crew in question was obliterated on contact with a small star, as their navigation system could not process the information fast enough.)

@Godman873 (Regarding the space jargon)

Connor rubbed his temples with his upper set of hands. "Yes, money, very nice, very useful, can use for therapy to forget being shot at! Being cheated is one thing! Being stuck with reminder is other! Also collector? you need either really rich or really stupid. If they know about totem, then they know that Anubi will get angry! That be bad very bad, more shooting because of hunk of crap. Only pay because to rich to care. Or collector needs to be so stupid they go OHHHH Shiny! and not know they wearing target on their back. Very not good, not very smart, or moral. Then maybe new enemy on our backs! Would be fun. Not really. Much explosions. Very not good."

Jade nodded slightly to S.E.U. “Yeah. Your programming is missing some emotions most of them are thing which promote aggression past a level of irritated…” She muttered softly. “It’s nothing dangerous per say, though I can see how it would be confusing or frustrating….” She sighed wondering what kind of hack made her programming. She looked over as the supposed Pilot called for her attention. She strolled over looking over the council as he rambled off his preferences. All easily done but she was always throughout when it came to her work. She sat in the copilot seat and plugged her bracer into the console. Several screens of information came up as she started tapping away on the various holo screens. “Mark 53.142 S8 class. with an overdrive of 20%. Four engines 95% operational. Coolant use is…” She trailed off “Oh for Christ sake … Nitetraoxis? There’t way better stuff then that..” she grumbled under her breath. "Operational system at 90% parts need to be replace and coding is old. Presets can be set. Do you just want one of a few for various speed settings…” She questioned not looking up from her holo bracer.
