The world of Astral is a dangerous place; there are creatures and criminals as there are people. At the same time, this world has safe cities, a flourishing economy, and the ability to control life energy deep within oneself.

This is Aura, energy that all living beings possess. Of course Aura is not common knowledge as most populations aren't even aware of it's existence. To those that learn of it as well as seek to gain the ability of control, a new world opens up new possibilities.
Probably not going to be a Kamen Rider but c'mon you have to admit that does look cool.
A natural first-step would be to acquire a Gear License. This simple piece of plastic allows access to Gears, specially made equipment that even the general public know about. There is much more to the license than simple weaponry. One also gains access to the Gear Collective, a large conglomerate of researchers, scientists and many other professions alike. The job market is also always in need of Gear Holders as the world is, as established before, a world of adventure and danger.
