Hello, Dark here. Today I bring upon a question that affiliates with the combative side of roleplay. I am curious to hear from the community what they think is the deadliest weapon around within roleplay and what would be their reason behind it. Perhaps even share some experiences?

Not too experienced with RPing, but I can't imagine anything being more deadly than magic. It isn't bound by physical limitations. It's fookin' magic. The scale of the power, of course, depends on what limitations the DM puts on a spell book. But it definitely has the highest capacity to be deadly, in my amateur opinion.

... I think the most deadliest weapon is the person themselves. Sure, they can have all these great, killer arsenals at their disposal, but it takes a living person to go through the thought process of wanting to inflict harm on another... and come to the conclusion that a little homicide is alright. The very notion that someone can accept this is fucking crazy and insane! On top of that, who knows how unhinge they are and what other behavior they have to back up this determination to hurt... and kill.

Quite true. There's also the fact that you can, in real life, have your body be registered as a lethal weapon. Lol

Godmodding. ( :P )

...Wait, you mean actual weapons? Ah, alright. I'm gonna go with a bullet. Really any kind of bullet. It's reliable unlike a blade, quick to cause death unlike a fist, and it doesn't waste time being flashy like magic does (Sorry magic, you know I still love you (:'()) It just goes in, gets its job done fast, and sometimes comes out afterwards. And it all happens in an instant so no normal character could ever avoid it if caught out of position (I'm not counting Superman here ( :P ))

So yeah, that's my answer xD Deal with it.

I'd say in roleplaying as @LegoLad659 said the deadliest weapon is the God-Moder. The kind of players the bend reality and circumstance to allow their character to defeat all enemies with anything from a gun to their pinkie to the pure power of their epic snowflakeness.

Depends entirely on context. In some settings a gun would beat magic, in others fists might beat swords. It's not really a question that can be answered universally for the format.

Although I'll third god-modding if that's an acceptable answer.

Poison. If absolute no metagaming happens, or no decision for the roleplayer to have their charcter not drink or whatever. But then again, very rarely do roleplayers' let their charcter go be poisoned without plot intention, or do so in the opposite way. *slight self reflection cringe* I want to poison one of my charcters in a rp just for the pure sake of realism.

Words. Letters. Information.

If broadening up is power, as seems to have been suggested, then certainly there is no stronger than these. Until they are made into words, thoughts and intentions will not have any effect. After they are made into words, what can challenge them?

lol I am positive you didn't mean it this way. But I mostly just saw that as - Owls or Pigeons flying over head with envelopes in their claws.

Do you mean when a player uses words to effect an outcome? When someone uses information from the roleplay / OOC? Cuz that was a little unclear.

I mean any and all writing the player does. Heck, even OOC can affect the outcome of a Roleplay dramatically.

Self-centered and unreliable participants. I've never seen anything getting murdered as quickly as a ton of RPs and a lot of motivation.

There's always the jerk who wants to ruin it for everyone. Good thing GMs can "unperson" them in thread. Delete and edit posts as needed in thread. OP has that power last time I checked.

Hail the power of the mighty Banhammer!

Clearly, love is the most powerful weapon. It trumps all; normally fatal wounds, brooding loner types, a sense of realism. Nothing can stop the power of love, especially in a roleplay.

If we’re talking about freeform, it’s the weapon being wielded by the character whose player the storyteller likes the most.

If it’s rules-based, and the system is combat-focused, every weapon available to players should be roughly equal in power, or at least have sufficient advantages to make it worth choosing. Otherwise, the system’s imbalanced and you should play something else.

The deadliest weapon I've ever observed was a meathook on a chain. I mean, it was wielded by an eldritch horror but y'know. It was brutal lookin too.
