Personality

Riley is a kind-hearted, compassionate girl who hates to see others in pain or hurting. She wears her heart on her sleeve and tends to put other people's needs before herself. She is the type of girl who would take a bullet for her family and friends without so much of a second thought.

Riley can come across as quite naive at times and tries to see the good in everybody. Trust and loyalty are very important to her, She trusts easily but if you break them you may never be given the chance again.

Riley is brave, rebellious, reckless and extremely stubborn. She will never back down from a fight and tends to disregard the consequences of such actions. Whilst she would never knowingly put her friends in danger, she is not afraid to do so herself, especially if it is to help out someone she cares about.

Riley, especially since her final year of school, is carefree, fun and doesn't take herself or life too seriously. She wants to live her life free and her own way. She enjoys partying with her friends and is always up for a good time. She is reliable in the sense that she is almost always "down to do whatever."

History

Riley was born to Carson and Fiona Rivers, two secondary school teachers.

Riley's parents were always strict on her growing up, valuing education and reading. This meant that Riley was rarely allowed to watch tv, go out with her friends or even just relax. She was expected to be the best and to give everything she did her all. It was almost as though her parents viewed her as a prize rather than their daughter.

Riley's parents separated when she was 9 years old and she spent the first two years of their divorce moving between her parent's houses. She eventually decided at 11 to stay solely in her mothers so to have some sort of grounding.

Rileys mother is a control-freak by nature and has always been very overbearing and too involved in her daughters life. She tries to control her clothes, friends, studies and activities. Riley had a curfew, was not allowed attend parties and always had to let her mother know where she was and who she was with. For most of her life, Riley followed this rules and lived within the boundaries her mother set., that was until senior year.

After finally having enough of her mothers controlling ways and wanting to live her life like all her peers, Riley finally listened to her best friend (girl 2) and began to rebel against her mother, whilst she would never actually do so with her mother knowingly, Riley became a risk taker and began sneaking out to parties and doing what she liked ... well in secret anyway.

Riley turns back into the shy, quiet and controlled girl around her mother and so she is beyond excited to finally be getting away from her clutches to a college a mere 6 hours away.

There's only one way to really put it, Zoey is a bitch. She's cold, manipulative and cunning. She can be quite possessive of things or people she deems as her own and will step on anyone to get what she wants.

Zoey can be quite arrogant, believing herself to always be the most important in the room and she carries herself this way, there is a reason she's the leader after all. She is extremely confident in herself and her abilities and tends to hold herself in quite high regard.

Trust and loyalty are very important to Zoey. She does not give them easily, experience has taught her that not everyone deserves it, in this regard if she gives you her trust and you break it , well you will regret it. She can go from your best friend to your worst nightmare in seconds.

Zoey is brave, bold, stubborn and brutally honest, she doesn't believe in sugar coating things and will just say it as things are. She is strong-willed and will never back down from a fight, no matter the odds.

Zoey is a flirt and a tease, she enjoys the action and going with her self confidence she believes everyone wants her or is lucky if they get her attention.

Zoey was born to Charles and Jane Williams.

Her parents were drunks and drug addicts who never really took any interest in their daughter. Zoey began to look after herself from a young age, she began stealing food when she was only 6 years old to survive and later turned to bigger crimes to make quick money.

It was during this time that Zoe made her way onto the Mobs radar after unknowingly stealing from them. Instead of killing her, they decided to keep her on and train her finding potential in Zoe. Zoey officially joined the Mob at 14 years old, first as an errand girl but quickly made her way up into the ranks. Even though she was a girl, she made a great enforcer and was allowed help in the planning stages.

Zoey is the only person to leave the mob and survive. The endless brutal and unnecessary killings began to take a toll on her but the final straw was when she was tasked to kill a girl that Zoey had previously been made spy on and become friends with. Zoey packed up in the middle of the night and left, deciding she couldn't take it anymore and afraid of what she might become if she stayed, leaving however was not easy and Zoe spent 2 years on the run fearing for her life. "No-one leaves the Mob" Zoey was well aware of this but she had no choice.

She eventually began the "Friends" and the Mob left her alone. Whilst not as powerful as the Mob, the prospect of her being in a rival gang was enough to spare her life. Once Zoey and her "gang of misfits" left the Mob's business alone they were left alone to do as they pleased, within reason of course.

Zoey would know Boy A and Boy B since she was 14 years old. When she found out Boy A left the gang, she immediately came to his aid, while that meant putting her gang now in the firing line she would always help her friend.

Addison always has, always shall, and always will be the life of the party. She’s extroverted, boisterous, but not as aggressive as her best friend. She loves being the center of attention, which can put her off as a bit selfish or vain, but she means well in the end. She hasn’t really cared about herself in general, always putting her friends first. However, this has caused lasting mental issues, including always being suspicious of new people. Especially guys. Especially.

Addi is a pretty rational person, when she’s not drop-dead drunk. She’s creative, but prefers to think with the left-side of her brain. She’s not someone to get fazed easily, despite being one to gossip, and it takes a lot to rattle her. Supposedly. She does have trauma issues, so if you hit a nerve, she breaks down. But like that would ever happen? Addi feels like she has to be the perfect Asian stereotype for her parents, and as a result deals with a lot of peer pressure/parental pressure.

If we had to do pop culture comparisons, she’d probably easily comparable to Heather McNamara from Heathers. She’s the hot, popular, cheer captain. She thinks she has it all. However, she is aware that something is brewing underneath the surface. Her indecisiveness and hubris has severely impacted her, both believing that she must let her parents choose for her, and that she has it all. Let’s see how much father she can go…

Addison was born to Morris Summer and Jiyuai Hou, a religious pastor and an accountant respectively, who had both immigrated from China at a young age.

When Addi was 6 months old, the family moved from Shanghai to here, where Addi soon became friends with Girl A (Riley). She moved to push people outside of her boundaries, much to the chagrin of her parents. She got along extremely well with the other children, despite perhaps having a slight preference for watching Terminator on Saturday nights with the lights off and headphones on.

Her father worked long hours at the church, which Addi soon became the religious face of, and hated every second of it. She tried to hang out with Girl A more and more as they went into middle and high school, but her parents wanted her to focus more on her academics. Unlike Girl A’s parents, they did not ground her, give her a curfew, or anything like that. They considered her a lost cause, which would have severe mental impacts on Addi come senior year. While she did finally convince Girl A to rebel against her mother…she’d hit a breaking point.

One weekend before the end of high school senior year, Addi tried to commit suicide by overdosing on painkillers. Obviously, she survived, but her mental state would never be the same.

Soon thereafter, college seemed to be a breeze for her. She was still popular, quickly rising up the social ladder, and loved to party. She started to dabble into writing horror movies, and even just recently got one for a pitch meeting in front of a major streaming platform’s executives. It seems everything’s worked out well for her….until now…

Vices:
Colby is a very complex individual with many different layers to dissect. Underneath all of it, a deep-seeded anger has been rooted inside of him, burning on even if it doesn't seem like it. Layered on top of that anger is his jealousy. Everyone seems to be having a better life than him, and he's envious of it. He's dissatisfied with his own life, and it takes form in his jealousy. The most noticeable vice that Colby has inherited is his opioid addiction. He got himself tangled in the world of drugs from a very young age, and now he's struggling with his dependency on opioids.

Virtues:
Colby is authentically himself - his integrity and loyalty to the Friends transcends all of his vices. His compassion and kindness takes center stage when his medical expertise is needed. He's confident and assertive, knowing his role in the gang and filling it well. His boldness counteracts his anger and jealousy - when he's off the drugs, of course. When Colby's on opioids, that all goes flying out the window. He's determined to make something out of himself, and if being part of the Friends will help him do it, then he's going to do exactly that.

Deepest Fear:
Overdosing on opioids - he knows that it's a very real and terrifying possibility.

When single mother Katherine Woodard gave birth to her first and only child, a boy she christened Colby Lee, she never pictured him one day being part of a gang. She also never pictured him addicted to opioids after a brutal car accident, but yet, Colby ended up following his mother's worst nightmares.

It was a snowy winter morning in Buffalo, New York. Katherine Woodard held her newborn baby boy close to her bosom, watching the snow fall from the window of her hospital room. She was worried about both her and her son's future - she had just lost her job as an administrative assistant for a well-known publisher, Colby's father had walked out on her, and she was extremely close to losing her shoebox of an apartment. It seemed as if her luck would run out completely, but instead, Katherine would soon find out that she had a little luck left in her.

The very day that Katherine and Colby left the hospital, she received a call that would change her life. Her elusive, wealthy aunt had recently passed away, leaving a humble home and a few thousand dollars to Katherine in her will. It was bittersweet, but a relief nonetheless. She would be fine while she recovered from giving birth. She would be fine while she began the job hunt.

A few years went by. Katherine found a new job, Colby started to grow up, and things seemed to be going good for the mother and son. Ten years later, at the age of fourteen, tragedy would strike. While traveling home from a birthday party, Katherine and Colby were hit head-on by a drunk driver, totaling their car. Colby ended up in a coma for two weeks following the accident, but he didn't get the worst of it, by any means. Katherine was paralyzed from the waist down after the accident, leaving her to live life from a wheelchair. The pain that never seemed to end stemming from the accident would haunt Colby. It led to him stealing opioids from his mother, which helped his pain but hurt his conscience, then joining the Friends gang years later.
