Hello everyone, brand new to this site, so bear with my learning curve. While new to the site, I am not new to Roleplaying. I have been playing since 1998 in the age of AOL (back when it was still a thing!), and it has only since progressed. My goal in life is to publish a book, so that being said I am a bit on the wordy side with my posts. I'm hoping that won't scare you off.
Who I am:
Gal in her 30's, working professional
Posts 2,000 to 8,000 character posts typically if doing in e-mail or forum format (shorter obviously for IM style RPs).
Posts in 3rd person, proper spelling, grammar, and written in novel-style
Will do just about anything, and cover most content within the genre I am playing. I have some exceptions, but those can be discussed if they come up during our meet & greet
Who I'm looking for:
Looking for at minimum 1 post per day, or every other day to keep me interested, of equal caliber and similar length to my own posts
Prefers email or IMs like Google Hangouts or Skype, but will do forum RP if that's your preferred medium.
Will only RP with someone 18+, and preferably 21+. Since I'm in my 30's it can be quite the age gap, and I've found it doesn't usually mesh well stylistically to pair with someone half my age, sorry!
Looking for someone who is not afraid to write, and write a lot in one go. I'm patient, and would rather have quality over quantity. I need someone to match my muse.
You must write in proper grammar, spelling with no 'netspeak' abbreviations during gameplay. OOC stuff is perfectly fine.
When writing, you control your character and their actions, I control mine. No puppeteering, maneuvering or assuming actions.
We all play NPCs or side-characters, and dually contribute to the plot.
The Setting:
I am willing to try anything setting-wise if you have an idea and want to go with it. I'm good at coming up with characters and concepts. I prefer deep emotional characters that are complex. I can do upbeat, angsty, you name it. But I prefer a blend or balance. I'm not into too much fluff, or too much angst. Must find common ground to balance it out.
That being said, I have a world in mind that I'd love to float your way, if it interests you:
- Low fantasy setting - there is magic and fantasy, but it's not prevalent, and is fading, forgotten and mostly stories and myth. Few people know anything about magic, other than the mysterious tales told around campfires, few have ever seen it. Magical creatures are stories, and not reality to most, and anyone caught with a magical artifact or practicing is usually hunted down and imprisoned or executed. Think Game of Thrones, but more totalitarian and paranoid. The world is on the cusp of a revolution, and ruled by a family who essentially hunted down and killed many of the mythical people and creatures. But some still exist, and are rare, but found. Some races escaped the purge and hide. Some know the art of magic, and carefully protect it.
Anyone seeking to partner up in this world has to be OK with it being low fantasy... with the potential to become Higher fantasy as the story moves forward. I'm open to ideas for your character, however, so we can discuss.
My character is male, and as of such I would prefer a female partner if we are going to pursue a romance. If you have a stellar male character however, I can make mine female. I'm not afraid of writing for either. However, while I support the LGBT community, my characters are typically straight because (lets face it) so am I. Supporting characters of all orientations are welcome, however. And if we are not pursuing a romance, then all of those restrictions are gone. I'll take pure adventure too if that's your cup of tea.
I have an overall plot in mind, but much of it is also depending what ideas YOU have! So we can play off each other and see what we come up with.
Any questions please inquire. As I am new, I believe there is a post limit before I can PM you, so please reply with inquiries as to what you want to know, and your ideas.
Thank you!
~ Jen
