Ever since the new update, things have been sent to my email without my permission. I checked the settings, and the box is still unchecked. What settings should I check to have notifications not be sent to my email?

All threads followed before the most recent update will send emails unless you unwatch and rewatch them.

What about PMs? I can't unwatch those.

If you want to unwatch a PM then just leave it

You can turn off email notifications for PMs here I believe:
https://www.rpnation.com/account/contact-details

Try checking and unchecking it to see if that helps. If not, there might be an alert preference somewhere that can fix it. (Or if you don't want to receive any emails at all on the email account you registered with, you may have to change your email to one that you don't use.)
