Also, I have a fun question regarding Lunars.

So, in a hypothetical world, a little lunar girl is casteless, and refuses to be tattooed. She messes up a time or two and now has a few mutations. Specifically natural perfume, and night vision.

I would just like to know people's opinion on mutations of her true forms effecting her hearts blood forms?

If she takes shapes of other humans do those people now have her mutations too or can she temporarily escape her own mutations?

That is an excellent question, that I don't remember seeing an answer to before. I could see it going both ways honestly. Knee-jerk, I would rule that stolen forms remain pure, because even the tattoos don't show on those, although I also see how it could be ridiculous for the horribly mutated chimera to just turn into a person and you can't tell.

I remember reading that true chimerae can't really hold any form, and that false shapes remain unmutated 'til you reach that stage.

The section on gaining Wyld mutations while Casteless says they "become a part of the Lunar's true forms."

On the one hand, it wouldn't be unreasonable to apply the mutations to all forms she takes, because that's partially the point of encroaching chimerism: out-of-control shapeshifting body horror. To be able to just leave behind these strange tumors by taking any shape you please, which is really pretty easy, undermines the loss of control.

On the other hand, it also wouldn't be unreasonable to limit the effect to true forms, because it could help to promote the other point of encroaching chimerism: loss of personal identity. Enough of the right chimeric mutations can also potentially devalue shapeshifting altogether, with varying speeds depending on the character's concept.

On the foot hand, however, form lock and unretractable shapeshifting kind of undermines the whole idea behind giving out all these shapeshifting toys to play around with.
