2020, that was when it all started. In one night the entire planet became a place of ruin and chaos. It started with the plague, GIIX, also known as the "hollow affliction" the first cases, drove the infected mad within two days. causing them to either lash out violently or find a place to hide and sleep. after a few weeks the plague began to change most people, facial feature's disappearing; skin tone whitening and loss of the ability to use their legs. after a few months, most died off. Although their body's remained, their lower torso gone, replaced by what looked like a void of black. their facial features completely gone, replaced with an eerie pale white, rips and tears in their face revealed the void of black, that also resided in the thrashed lower abdomen. They used their enlarged arms to pull themselves around, their torso floating as if it weighs nothing. These were dubbed the hollow's and how GIIX came to be known as the "Hollow Affliction"
Not all afflicted turned into this final stage, some stayed at the psychotic stage, and some only paled, their eyes turning black and their will to do anything destroyed.
Now at first these hollow's merely walked around aimlessly, and around 65 percent of the population had succumbed to the Hollow affliction. But as the months dragged on, hollows began attacking any humans that were left. Chasing them down and then dragging them into any darkened place, before feeding of their life force.
Survivor's of a Hollow attack changed, their eyes would become black, and blood Thick and black as well. most would die after two or three days, but the ones that survived became different, able to do things outside the bounds of reality itself. These people were dubbed "The Afflicted" Hollow's would chase after these "Afflicted" more then normal humans.
Now around this time an organization started called "WatchfullEye" they were the last of the United states government, these ''Watcher's" as they were nicknamed, would collect any "afflicted" as well as try to contain or kill any hollow's they came into contact with. any "afflicted" that were captured by the "WatchfullEye" never came back, and were never heard of again. The watchful eye would have broadcasts on any radio stations playing about the current whereabouts of "afflicted and their WL" which stands for watchmen level, watcher level ranged from one to five. five being the highest and most dangerous. this caused normal humans to be on the watch for any odd behaviors.
Rumors about where this all started and how it started, always refer's to a lady in black. There is also rumor's of other creatures like the hollow's...lurking in the dark. It is now 2025, five years since the outbreak has occurred, you are in Oregon, mcminnville. Either as a watchmen, or an Afflicted. you are trying to survive, if you ware a watchmen you are trying to collect and examine any afflicted, and contain or kill any hollow's. as the story progresses, i will update the lore.
