"Ignoring the voices is no longer a possibility. Their constant stammers and whimsical speeches, well attempt at whimsical speeches..." I trailed off looking at the doctor with a spark of confusion. I hadn't noticed through my ramblings that the doctor at dissolved himself in his patient notes, leaving me to fizzle myself out of talking.
"He's not paying attention to you.." Chaz, the angry voice started. I twitched.
"See! Look at him sitting there with his fucking notes! Probably bad mouthing your whore wife!" Chaz continued incredulously.
"You should reach across the fucking ta-"
"Enough!" I hissed, bringing an awkward gaze from the doctor to my person. He arched his unkept brow and shifted in his leather chair.
"Detective, maybe we should pick this up next week." The doctor spoke to me like I was some child who needed the world explained. I feel embarrassed, cursing Chaz in my head. I wanted to protest the doctors request, to mention that we hadn't gone through a full session, but then I realized I had been in his office for more than an hour already. I couldn't find anyway to defend myself so I got up and left the office, feeling more defeated and confused than I had when I walked in this afternoon.
Just a bit of something I was cooking up for a character or maybe a short story. I know its not much but I'd like to know what you guys think of this segment. The idea so far is that it's detective Ohio Wolff and he has a bunch of voices in his head that represent everything from the human mind such as anger or lust..so on.
