For "ignored users," I was wondering why there isn't an option to ignore status updates as well.

if you want to ignore someone would you not unfollow them anyways? then you wouldn't get any notifications

It's not really a matter of notifs., it's about just seeing them in general. It'd be nice if they could be "hidden" in preferences.

Well, they still exist for the many people on here... Maybe that can be added in later updates and such. Until that point, all you can do is ignore the person's responses and updates that are directed to you.

That's mainly the point I'm bringing. It'd make sense to add status-update hiding in the next update.

This would be good for status updates that get changed every five minutes, about the same thing no less.
I share your opinions and annoyance with the way status updates are and how they spam you/interact with the ignore functionality. Unfortunately it is built into the software that way but I will see what can be done !
