Good Morning Sunshine

The Loving Spoon was open, and it was a good time of the morning. Only a couple of customers were inside at the time Jay arrived. As soon as the bell over the door signaled someone entering, Tilly gave a cheerful, "Good morning!" Miranda wasn't there yet, but Tilly seemed to have things already in full swing.

On each table there was a complimentary plate of six freshly baked cinnamon rolls, drizzled with a sinful amount of icing. One booth by the front windows was occupied by an older gentleman who was usually there most of the time, Marius Ryder. This morning, he wasn't alone. A younger, dark haired man with a short jawline beard and mustache sat opposite. Facial features were pretty similar, making it an easy assumption they were related.

The plate of rolls on their table had dwindled to three left. The older man, Marius, was already looking out the window with a near glossy eyed stare. The other man was talking quietly, trying to get Marius engaged in conversation, but failing. "Pops, you've barely touched your coffee. Do you want some hot cocoa instead?" The expression on his face hinted at his desperation to get the other man to respond, followed by a dive into disappointment each time he failed.

Tilly handed Jay a small saucer with some freshly roasted peanuts, sliced up fruit and cheese, obviously a plate for Yun. "Take a seat anywh're, loverly. Let me know when yer ready t'order."

OOC Information

Jay xAlter xAlter : As you enter, there is a strange moment where Marius' gaze seems to follow you. Or rather, your neck, where Yeung remains coiled comfortably. The moment you continue farther inside the cafe, it returns to the view outside the front window. You're somewhat familiar with the younger man with Marius. Max, the man's youngest son. Sage is usually the one who gets Marius settled in, but today it's apparently Max's turn.

Shells

Augie was slow to wake, and once he did, there was still an obvious sluggishness to his movements. He wiped at his face more than a few times as he sat up and stretched arms to the side and over his head. Even then, it took a few more minutes before he noticed the pile of rocks and shells beside the mattress. "Wha.. what's this?"

He shifted around so he could recline on one side and examine the items closer. There were some very pretty shells and rocks, including several Augie could tell did not come from the shore, but from the area closer to town. "Wow, these are great." He looked up to find Boy and had a confused, but grateful grin. "How did you get these, Boy?"

Augie sorted through several more, still wondering how Boy had managed to collect everything, and not a bad one in the bunch. Augie had noticed a few things, but ignored them as just wishful thinking. However, this was just another little nudge. He picked up one of the rocks, and without warning, let his hand dart out to one side. All while keeping a close eye on Boy's face, and the dog's reaction to the movement.

OOC Information

Riley KodakWolf KodakWolf : Augie picked up a rock and the arm shot out suddenly to the side, almost as if he was going to throw it for you to chase, only he never let go of the rock.

Memory Lane

"Papa!"

The voice was so familiar, and yet sounded so far away. Turid wasn't seen, but felt. The fire glass hearth seemed to silently mock Leif as he actually looked around at the sound in his mind. The flames flickered like tongues waving in the air, even as her voice echoed, growing softer and older with each repeat. Eventually, it sounded like a young woman instead of a child, and the emotion behind the word was heavy with fear and sadness.

"Papa?"

It faded away, just as Leif thought he could see her face in the jeering flames. And that's when the wuffling began. The sound reminiscent of the Chase from the last realm Leif could recall. The one where he was known as Chases-Death, the wuffles meant for his ears only. Like Turid's voice, it was everywhere all at once, and then began to fade away, swallowed up by that same mocking fire.

Wuffle wuffle.

OOC Information

Leif KodakWolf KodakWolf : You can physically feel the presence of Turid and Chase. From a small tug upon your pant leg from the younger Turid, to a face nuzzle against the back of one shoulder from Chase. It's highly disconcerting, and it lingers in the air of your room. Your head starts to hurt, as if the memories were dragged out from where they resided.

With the sudden appearance of all the people he had acquainted the day before, Aódh found himself a tad bit overwhelmed. The notion that it was to be a fairly customary chat to Seraphim was quashed not only when Bernard intimated the idea of them having a gawk around the town together, but through Hatsu & Bill making their appearance as well. Owing to the incident in the forest, Aódh tacitly acknowledged the Scotswoman's greeting, lest he find himself welling up with the awkwardness that shame brings. But Hatsu, given the day he had yesterday, seemed to be in something of a better, if not more tired, mood, so Aódh replied a 'good morning' back to the former homeowner, with it being implicitly said towards Bill too.

"I don't really, no," Aódh said, turning to respond to the Dane's question, "But first of all, I need to get some food into me. I don't know what sort of dream I was tipping about in last night, but it's left me starving." Indeed, were he to leave it any longer, the youth might end up going without food for so long that his stomach might not be too fussed about being hungry anymore. We can't be having that either, Aódh thought, shuddering at the thought of that envisioned scenario.

Picking up the two vouchers, thanking Seraphim at the same time, he turned to Bernard, saying: "If you want to talk about going around the town, that's fine. But it'll have to be at Tilly. So, I'll see ya there?"

The greeting had no sooner left his lips than he was out the door, waving a hand back at the bedraggled group of people at the counter. There wasn't too much activity going on about the town, though perhaps in the aftermath of all that occurred the day before, Aódh's perception of busy had been driven up a few notches. Still, he said 'hello' to as many people as he passed, most reciprocating the gesture, others returning a nod of the head whilst one particular woman gave him quite the mean look. The young man didn't lean into it too much though; there was a lot of grouchy people around the parish back in Ireland as well, but he'd have a bit more gall to ask them why they were in a hump at home. But, like a bird that instinctively knows the migratory routes it needs to take, likewise will Aódh find his way to the Loving Spoon or any establishment serving food.

Opening the door, Aódh found both Jay and his fox Yun, as well as Marius, amongst a bunch of other customers whose faces he didn't recognise off a first glance. He waved at Marius, who was being attended by a younger man, possibly a relative of some sort.

"Hello there Tilly, Jay," Aódh said, settling himself in at the counter, "How are the two of ye keeping today?"

Fees my ass.
Indy's tail snapped from side to side as she paused, still stretched up along the door as Silver jumped out of bed. Flicking her tail with determined purpose, she dragged her nails back down with another loud screech until Silver finally came and knocked on the door instead.

The blast of warm steam blinded Indy as Roje opened the door, disorienting her as she could feel her feet being lifted from the ground. She scrambled, paws slapping against bare skin as it quickly became apparent Roje was only wearing a towel. Fuck's sake, can you at least throw on a sweatshirt?!

Roje was saying something but the words we already starting to blur again. Indy felt like she was reading lips, only catching a small portion as she scrambled to be released from her sister's iron grip. She hissed her displeasure at the entire situation loudly. No one ever picks me up when I'm a human, but suddenly you've got four legs and it's open goddamn season.

She bent backward in Roje's arms, wide eyes searching for Silver as she tipped her tail pointedly at the note in Roje's hands. We need to meet these people and figure out what the fuck is going on. We should go. Especially if the others wandered over that way already, fuck knows what they've been dealing with--considering we already had a lady scream loud enough to sonic boom our hotel room.

Jay walked into the Loving Spoon, the comforting warmth of the café instantly easing any worries the druid might have. It was as if a blanket of warmth was wrapped around him, turning him into a comfortable Jay burrito. However, that feeling of warmth was stuttered by a quick chill that had run down his spine. Looking around, Jay’s eyes connected with those of Marius’. The older man was… feeling odd. The chill quickly vanished as Marius once more turned to the window. “Morning Mr. Ryder, morning Max.” he called quickly to the pair.

Finding a quick seat at the counter, Jay waved towards Tilly, his hand drifting towards a cinnamon roll. “Morning Tilly! Miranda not in yet?” he cheerily called back. He leaned back in comfort. A plate of food for Yun was all he needed to be settled. Jay had his order in mind, already having a craving for something different for breakfast. He picked up an apple slice and fed it to the vixen, who purposefully nipped his finger as well. He snuck a piece of apple to Yeung as well, but the serpent refused as usual. Sausage or something else would have to do.

Yeung’s tongue flicks the air. His eyes locked onto Marius, the serpent more intrigued than suspicious. In all his time with Jay, most people focused on Yun instead of his concealed presence. The obvious fox was always noticed more than the serpent. ”Interessssting, very interessssting.” thought the snake as his eyes remained on Marius and Max.

Jay, oblivious to Yeung’s inner thoughts, was busy stuffing his second cinnamon roll into his mouth. He would never admit it, but he only ever ate the rolls served at the Loving Spoon. Other cinnamon rolls he never liked. Maybe it was the frosting. “Wet dog inbound.” Yun spoke calmly, her words sounding like a yip to those not aware of her true nature. Turning, chewing slowly, Jay waved to Aodh. “Hello Aodh.” he said in greeting, but his words were nearly unintelligible due to the cinnamon roll in his mouth. Swallowing the cinnamon roll, he hit his chest to get it to go down. “How was your first night in Marasong?”

Hatsu Black

"Two or three hours give or take." Hatsu responded with a shrug; it wasn't unusual for him to not get a proper amount of sleep. However, since his arrival to Marasong, his sleep schedule had started to become a bit "normal". And by normal that meant he crashed at some early hour in the morning and then woke up past noon. Either way, he knew that he didn't get the 9 hours of recommended sleep the previous night. If he were to have a wild guess it was well before noon and he probably feel asleep around 3 or 4 that morning.

With Bill's sudden arrival it did make some things easier for Hatsu. One, he didn't have to leave his room for long. He was worried that something could happen between the time that he went to the Loving Spoon and made small talk. There was a good chance that everyone who was currently in the lobby were about to head that way too and there wouldn't be much room to avoid conversation. And secondly, he had successfully avoiding having to interact with everyone in the lobby. He did have plans to try to make friends- but that can't be help when there is a mystery safe in your room. It'd probably be easier to make friends with one or two people at a time instead of the entire inn all at once anyhow.

“Are ye ready for us tae have our ah…chat? I’ve coffee if ye want some and dinnae mind sharin’.”

"Sure." Hatsu said turning to go back up the stairs and showed Bill to his room. He didn't really think much with Seraphim watching them. It was her lobby, besides he was certain that the interaction that Bill and him just had did appear weird. He unlocked his door and walked in holding it open for the other to enter through.

His room was the opposite of Bill's. His bed was made and his extra pairs of shoes were pushed up against the wall by the door. There was a basket of fruit on the fireplace, a gift that was he given the day prior. His pajamas were folded and put on the foot of his bed. Everything had a place and and everything was in its place. The only thing that could be described as messy was the mug of untouched cold coffee by his laptop with a notepad and pen. For someone who didn't dry their hair properly, he sure took enough time to make sure everything else was neat. "Make yourself at home, you're free to any of the fruit in the basket," Hatsu said as he closed the door locking it behind them. It was a force of habit at this point, the motion was engraved in him since he was a kid. He took the time to take off his shoes and place them by the door, hoping that Bill would follow suit.

He walked over to his bed and pulled the safe out and pushed it towards the middle of the room. "Did you know that Marasong was founded in the 1800s as a home for the Uskah Community?" He then walked over to the fruit basket and grabbed an apple. He took a bite out of it before adding, "And that Google has nothing abnormal about this place."

Bill snorted at the careful tidiness of the room, feeling a little self-conscious about the state she’d left hers in. “Nice room,” she said.

Hatsu took off his shoes, so she sat down to unlace her boots as well. She never wore her shoes inside anymore anyway - a few months in St Petersburg, followed by a year in Mumbai had been enough to stamp that habit out of her.

"Make yourself at home, you're free to any of the fruit in the basket," Hatsu said, locking the door. That was probably wise.

“Ta, appreciate it,” Bill said, and took a long drink of her sweet coffee. She pulled one boot off and dropped it carelessly next to her, and started on unlacing the second one.

She watched as Hatsu pulled the safe out from under the bed.

“Did you know that Marasong was founded in the 1800s as a home for the Uskah Community?" he said, crossing to the fruitbowl and grabbing an apple. He took a bite, and added, "And that Google has nothing abnormal about this place."

Bill sucked at her teeth a little, thinking.

“I didn’t,” Bill said, “I dinnae know who the Uskah people are. And tae be honest, I doubt google would have too much in the way of information about the place.”

Bill chewed at her lip, unsure of how to continue.

“I grew up in a wee town near Inverness, one that were on the intersection of two leylines, oh leylines are uh, underground channels that have…like, raw magic energy runnin’ through them, and when ye cast a spell-ah, ye dinnae care. My point is that ye’d never know that unless you were magic, or ye talked to the locals. It’s nae on the wikipedia page for Kiltarlity. I think Marasong is probably similar - I cannae imagine they get a lot of tourists through here who notice stuff like this. Things like this ye really need tae talk to local folk about.” She paused, getting to her feet and pulling out a stick of chalk. She made her way over to the safe and started carefully drawing a circle around it, doing her best to make it as round as possible, and started carefully writing in the runes of the containment circle. She took her time over it, double checking the runes against the notes on her phone.

They’d both probably need to get close to the safe to check what was inside it. Or, at least, she would. She didn’t have the time to properly translate Hatsu’s name into runic. She added the inscription that she was free to come and leave the containment circle as she liked, but nothing and nobody else.

“So. Next thing tae solve the mystery of this fuckin’ town. Talkin’ tae folk. Maybe folk who know things and aren’t…y’know. Alyce.” She laughed to herself. “Ah, that was mean. But still. Ye could chat tae Tilly or somethin’. Maybe that lady who runs the clinic. Maybe Seraphim at the desk - weird name, Seraphim, don’t ye think? Anyway, go and be…” she waved a hand vaguely, “charmin’. Charismatic, or whatever. I was never any good at stuff like that.”

She stood back and admired her work. Much less wonky than she usually did. And the runes were straight too. She almost wanted to send a picture of it to Murdnia.

“Right. Let’s see what’s in here, then. Oh, stay out of the circle if ye can help it, Hatsu. And don’t smudge the chalk. Please.”

Bill carefully stepped into the circle, drawing her wand and tapping it on the lock.

Fosgail,” she said, and reached for the handle.

Mood: Aghast at the youth's hunger;

This irishman... THIS DOG!

The Dane thought, it may have been his perturbed mental state. Or the widening maw of his hunger, that seeks to consume all the bioelectricity from this very room. Whichever, he was angered. It was clear though, despite the almost aloof nature of the young Irishman, there had been more to him. Nay, the people in this very room. Pardoning Seraphim, though only partially. The accented woman and Hatsu (who Bernard had only properly introduced himself to, yesterday) knew each other. Their greeting and almost business-like attitude towards each other meant that they had pressing dealings that they simply must discuss. Whatever the circumstance, Bernard nodded his head in acceptance of their hello's, good morning's, and such. Though he'd very much liked to have been a fly in their room, he had more pressing matters to attend. His attention returned to Sera as the Irishman walked out. The clinic... Alone, potentially vulnerable... The Dane noted that it could be an ideal place to feed if his need grew great. But not now, he still had enough of the proverbial fumes.

"Any contribution helps as they say," Bernard nodded his appreciation towards the receptionist. "But I'll be fine for now. Thank you." His hand trailed over to the vouchers atop the counter and slid them away into a pocket. While walking, he decided to also take a brochure about the Negligent Fish Bar. No, wait. Upon further inspection, it was revealed to be the Careless Shark Pub. An honest mistake.

With a wave, he too departed the Inn and began heading off to the Spoon. The mirrorlike view of Marasong between the evening and the dawn had an edifying effect on Bernard, as if all the mysterious of the world could be solved right this moment. For all its' incessantly amplificative abilities, Bernard would not mind this one to remain. Though the people did wonder why this tall man stared at the sky for too long. He continued onward, plotting out his day.

Arriving at the Spoon, Bernard had taken note of Tilly, Jay, and Aódh. Along with an elder man accompanied by a youth, they sat in the booth and discussed or seemed to. "We meet again." The Dane exclaimed as his preternatural sense began to sniff area but was silenced before anything of worth could be discern. Normally, in Denmark, he'd allow his sense to roam freely but in Marasong, he felt it prudent not to use his sense freely. Lest he suddenly tip off another entity. He ordered a coffee from the diner and grabbed a cinnamon roll to feign the idea of eating again.

Leif Hjalkarssen

The voice made Leif freeze in place for an instant, before he quickly looked around, trying to locate it. Only there was no one there. Or no one he could see. The voice was distant and yet so clear, it was hard to believe he was imagining it. And he was sure he wasn't when he heard it again. And again, and again, each time a little different, each time heavier, each time older. Even if at this point he knew he'd see nothing, he kept looking around, one hand anxiously rubbing against the side of his head as it started to hurt.

He thought he saw her face in the flames, briefly. For a fraction of a second only, the dancing flames seemed to mock him. The ears of whatever was behind the magic of that place, maybe also the eyes, even the mouth.

Marasong was messing with his head, that much he knew. Yet knowing that didn't stop him from instinctively looking around again when he heard the wuffles, and felt the nudges on his shoulder. Wuffles he knew exactly where they came from. Looking back at the fire with a considerable level of anticipation, he saw no more faces there, nothing.

Yet his mind was flooded by a whole new set of memories. Similar, yet different than the ones he revived in the shower. Bloody battles, stormy seas, rough winters, crop harvests, hunts, long celebrations and losses. Those were the ones he considered to be the real ones. The original ones.

Yet as memories of the village by the water flooded his mind, of Chases-Death and a child Turid, they were so vivid Leif started questioning which set of memories was the real one. If there even was a real one. And which were the chances of the realm he was in right now being the real one. What were the chances of him being truly awake?

Such thoughts did nothing but increase the pulsing pain in his head, and he just had to step back and sit down on the bed for a moment, a clenched fist hitting the mattress as he let out a long sigh between clenched teeth.

He took a moment to refocus his thoughts on what was his current reality. The realm he could at least try to influence in one way or another. And once the pain had decreased in intensity just a little bit, he headed downstairs.

The first stop would be the store to try and get his phone fixed or at least drop it there before the sun was too high in the sky, even if it meant he had to resist the sudden urge to head straight to Levi's house. On the way, he made sure to stop by the front desk, and request Seraphim the fire be put out in his room, if that was possible.

Rhyme Rhyme Out Of Words Out Of Words Silver- Silver-

Roje knew that Indy would have freaked out, especially now since she was squirming every which way to get away. Despite this, she quickly put her sister down and moved back into the bathroom to get the only set of clothing she really had to wear, and put them on. Silver had to translate for the Vampire, just so she was able to understand what her feline sister needed, or perhaps wanted. After being informed of the fact, Roje agreed, but there was an issue: Silver needed clothes. That was another obstacle the Girl Squad had to go through, luckily they were able to get something for the wolf and was able to dress her in something else. Once that alone was settled, they gathered whatever they needed on their small trip -Such as Roje's (maybe dead) phone- and started to head out. The trio went down the old hallways, down the stairs, and then out of the Inn. Unlike them, everyone else seemed to be up and doing things, causing her to wonder how early these people woke up...

The trio walked past plenty of shops, and luckily the Loving Spoon itself was right nearby. Nestled right in between a craft supply shop, and a grocery store. "This was closer than I thought, if I knew that, I would have came out here myself last night." she then glanced at Silver, then to her sister who was still on the ground "You're not gonna like this Indy but I have no choice." she picked her up and opened her sweater a bit to allow Indy to be snuggled inside. Of course she left the zipper opened just a bit if she needed to breathe "I'm sure they don't allow cats in a restaurant, so you're going to act as...well..the more logical excuse would be being pregnant so..." with a shrug, she held her arms underneath her "belly" and proceeded to walk inside with Silver. Only then she was hit with the mixed scents within the building, followed by that stronger smell that belonged to a mutt. Oh for fucks sake Scrunching up her nose, she spoke a bit quieter "I smell wet dog in here, and it's not you, Silv..." her eyes began to gaze over not only the staff members, but the customers within it.

Morning Discovery

Boy'd been lying down beside the pile of pretty rocks and shells, chin on the rock floor as he waited to Augie to wake up. He'd pretty much exhausted himself running back and forth all around as he collected the rocks and shells from each area, piled them up in a spot, then moved them all closer to the cave, then eventually moved them all into the cave and their secret chamber.

It was a lot of work without the aid of thumbs or anything to help carry the stuff around, such as a backpack or even a piece of tarp. It was a lot for just a dog to collect so many nice things and pile them up like that. Most, if not all dogs wouldn't be able to do it, not without training, so perhaps Augie could get suspicious and Boy was okay with that. It was about time he got suspicious anyway. But Boy knew he wouldn't feel comfortable at all if Augie caught him using a blanket or a towel to move a bunch of shells around. So he had to resort to the less efficient method of carrying them around in his mouth, back and forth till he moved the whole pile.

When the man seemed to be finally somewhat ready to start the day, the dog lifted his head up as he watched and waited for Augie to notice his little gift. The tail thumped lazily against the rock floor, increasing the speed as Augie reacted to seeing the pile.

Then Augie made a sudden move, pretending to throw one of the rocks for him to chase. Boy didn't fully get up to go after it as he was pretty tired, but his instincts still had him sitting up and looking in the direction the rock should have gone.

Then he looked back at Augie, wondering why he'd suddenly do that. It took him a minute to realize what Augie was really trying to test, but when he did, the tail wagged harder. Thump thump thump. I can see!

Augie stared a bit dumbfounded at Boy, though he did make a few more motions, trying to keep them as silent as possible so he could confirm the dog was following the motions, and not the sounds. He stretched out one arm this way and that, wriggling fingers meant to draw someone's visual awareness.

And the more Boy followed the motion, the more confused Augie was. "You can see? How.. how is that.. I .. what?" He made a hand gesture, waving Boy to come closer. Augie had to check out the dog's eyes a bit closer.

Boy followed all of Augie's movements. He'd been almost as dumbfounded as Augie when he'd realized he could see. Almost, because he could guess why, or because of whom he could see. And also because he was also a little scared, more thabln a little scared, to suddenly not be able to see anymore.

But he did follow all of Augie's movements with excitement, and he did lazily get up when Augie beckoned him closer, probably wanting to check his eyes out. Might as well, Boy hadn't looked into a mirror in a long time, though he doubted Augie would see anything of significance there.

Augie took Boy's head in his hands, and peered closely at the dog's eyes. First it was one at a time, then both together. "Huh." He gave Boy several good ear scratches and head rubs before letting go. "Must have been a temporary thing. Just needed time to heal up and rest." There was a small, sideways smile, though his expression was still rather thoughtful.

"Well, makes it easier for you to get around then. Before you know it, you won't need this old sea dog." He did sound a little down about the last bit, as Boy so far hadn't been just a dog, but a friend. Augie would surely miss Boy if the dog decided somewhere else in town would be a better home. Or with someone else. Sniff.

Augie gave another pat and stood up, getting ready to change forms and leave the small shelter. "We've better get going if we want to get any of Tilly's fine breakfast. Be good to see if Marius is there, too and how he's doing."

He looked back at Augie while he got his eyes inspected, doing his best to keep his expectations low. Augie wouldn't be able to see anything. And indeed he wasn't. He pushed those thoughts aside when Augie spoke further, and the dog moved lick his hands a couple of times when he detected the slight change of tone in his voice.

He'd detected that other times, and never had he been able to fully convince Augie he was a friend to him just as much as he was a friend to Augie. No number of hand licks, tail wags or nudges. He wouldn't trade their cave for someone else's home, he would never pretend to be a house pet to get more comfort when he had all he could ever need in their cave.

While he wasn't being fully honest with Augie still, that would be unnacceptable. The only reason Augie still thought he was a dog was because that was how he first ran into him. It worked out well that way, in ways Boy never before thought of. So why change something that's working? But now that he could see he'd make sure to do his part collecting the rocks and shells. Do his best so that whenever it came to the truth, if it ever came to that, Augie would know he wasn't just taking advantage of him this whole time.

At the mention of Tilly and breakfast, Boy was divided. He was looking forward to breakfast, but anxious about the note Tilly had left the night before. He wasn't too sure what to expect. But it best to be there with Augie than not to be there, right? And if Marius was there, it'd be cool to check on him as well.

He was perhaps a bit less excited than usual, but then again he was also pretty tired, but he did follow Augie outside. Whatever ended up happening, he just hoped their friendship would make it through.

The moment the spell unlocked the safe, it almost felt anti-climatic. The lock opened, and the lid was easily flung open. There wasn't any scrabbling, skittering beetles. There wasn't even a cloth wrapped box inside the safe. It actually seemed to be... empty. The safe definitely had a weighty feel to it, though nothing could be heard rattling around whenever it had been moved. Still, the weight suggested there was something inside, despite the visual evidence to the contrary.

The truth of it was revealed only upon closer inspection. The depth of the safe did not match the dimensions of the outside. Which would mean more hands on probing of the safe, and the false bottom could be felt briefly shifting underneath Bill's fingers. It would take either prying, or more magic to work it free. Once removed, there was a rolled up piece of paper. It was thick, and had scotch tape keeping it from unraveling on its own.

There wasn't much written on the inside, as if purposefully being somewhat cryptic. A few hand drawn symbols, a couple of letters and numbers, and that was it.

A Morning Hike

It took a little longer than usual for Augie to get around. He moved slow, sluggish at times, and looked like he wanted to just go back to sleep for a while. He did take the time to put all the gathered pebbles and seashells on a blanket, then carefully dragged them through the tunnel into the main area of the cavern they called home. "I'll sort through these later, and maybe we can make a trip to see Joe and sell some of these beauties. Oh, might try to catch Ink and see if they can make you a custom collar or something with them. That'd be kind of neat."

He did a bit of a wash up using a bucket with water from the back of the cave, not wanting to go too close to the sea just yet. A change of clothes, with a verbal self reminder, "Gotta wash some clothes later. Don't let me forget." Augie chuckled, and with a good head pat to the not so blind dog, he headed out of the cave and to the little hiking trail that would lead them through the east woods and into town.

Augie started clicking his tongue out of habit before he caught himself. "Well, guess you won't need that, eh? Will probably still do it now and then. Kinda reassuring." He wasn't in a rush, knowing the morning would be the busiest time, maybe if they lingered in their walk, they would get there just after. Augie picked up a branch along the way, and held it up. "Hey, Boy. Want to fetch?" And he tossed it several yards ahead, to see if it was a game Boy was interested in, since the dog could see now.

OOC Information

Riley KodakWolf KodakWolf : Augie still does the clicking of the tongue, or the patting along the side of his leg like when you were blind. Sometimes, you can feel his gaze on you as you walk toward town, his expression resembling someone trying to figure out a puzzle. The puzzle being your sight returning.

Front Desk

Seraphim waved to everyone as they left, or as they arrived, such as Leif. "Good morning." She offered up the vouchers for the day, and toyed with the assorted pamphlets, like any good front desk clerk might when trying to ensure new tourists to the area have plenty to see and do. When asked to make sure the fire in the hearth of Leif's room was put out, her head tilted slightly to one side with a slightly perplexed expression. "Oh, was it too hot? There is a switch next to the hearth. You can control the temperature or have it turn off. When you want it back on, you just have to flip the switch and it'll automatically light up as well. But no worry, I'll be sure to have housekeeping take care of it right away."

There was the expected question if there was anything else she could help him with, and not long after, Leif was greeting the day on the dock. The sun didn't burn, or even feel warm on his skin yet. Either the ring had been recharged, or a certain diet from the day before was proving helpful. The vampire likely had a couple of hours in the very least he could spend without worry, well, too much worry at least.

The docks were busy with activity, Sage was hauling cargo to and from a docked ship while casting eyes now and then at the window of the cafe. A cafe that was growing quite full as Leif passed the front windows. There was Marius and someone who likely resembled a much younger version of himself at the booth next to the window. Further inside, the man with the fox companion could be seen, along with a handful of unknown faces. And a handful of known faces, including Edwight, and Roje with Silver, the latter were seated by Tilly herself.

From the look of people on the docks, there would soon be even more bodies inside the cafe that looked like it couldn't hold much more from the outside, yet from the inside, it never felt or seemed crowded beyond capacity.

OOC Information

Leif KodakWolf KodakWolf : There's a moment when Tilly looks up as you're passing by outside, and the woman gives you a smile and nod of her head. The eye twinkle was surely imagined. There's still several stores to pass by before getting to the Imported Booty, and there's a lot of activity, but there's something about the figure disappearing into a shop way down on the opposite end of the docks. Something worthy of the goosebumps and deja-vu sensation that quickly washes over you.

Food For The Soul

Tilly greeted Jay with her usual warm smile. "Ach, she's nae a mornin' person. She'll b'n soon 'nuff. When yer ready t' order, jus' let me ken." It smelled like food was already cooking, and even as more people entered the cafe, Tilly didn't ever seem to fret. Aódh received a similar greeting, all cheery smiles and warm tone of voice. "Mornin' loverly. Doin' well, busy, but well. Jus' get my attention when yer ready." With a pat of her hand on the shoulder, she moved to check on the food.

Bernard was greeted with a wave of a hand holding a couple of eggs about to be cracked. "One coffee, comin' up." Tilly started off a new pan of eggs, and then poured the man a nice cup o' joe. "Freshly made, as always." She didn't pat his hand, but had a moment where it looked like she was about to, but stopped herself. Instead she just pushed the small bowl filled with various creamers and sugars toward Bernard before heading off to tend to the food.

Miranda entered behind Edwight, giving the man a nod and a small greeting. "Sit anywhere you like. I'll be with you in a moment." A wave to the 'crew' at the counter, and she was hurriedly moving to don her apron. "Sorry, Tills. Had a hard time waking up." There was a small bit of conversation between the two and Tilly brought Miranda up to speed on any outstanding orders, and those yet to order.

The customers just seemed to keep on coming. A couple more locals, and a couple more new faces. One could tell they were new by how they entered and paused just inside the door. Tilly greeted the last two personally, and showed them to a table along one wall. "Ach, loverlies, welcome ta th' Lovin' Spoon! Have a seat, menus on th' table. I'm Tilly, my loverly helper is Miranda. Just git our attention when yer ready." There was a moment when she looked out toward the front window and nodded, before patting their shoulders as she leaned in a bit closer. "An' I'll fetch a wee saucer o' milk fer yer wee friend." Then she moved away to make sure everyone else was being tended to.

OOC Information

Jay xAlter xAlter : It's shaping up to be one crowded morning in the cafe. Lots of lovely scents for your unseen companion, as well as your fox. It's difficult to separate them however, especially when they enter with others. There's the druid from the previous night, and then scents of wolf, other than Aódh, old blood, and there's still the curious gaze of Marius when you entered. The old man hasn't looked at anyone else in passing, or at your unseen snake companion since.

Aódh Larry Larry : Lots of scents, all swirling together with the bacon and eggs from the kitchen. Including another wolf, and more earthy, forest like smells. And still people seem to be coming in. Yet the cafe never feels crowded somehow. Wait, do you smell a cat?!

Bernard Worthlessplebian Worthlessplebian : Tilly definitely made eye contact with you when she moved to push the creamers and sugars a little closer instead of patting the back of your hand. And then the hairs on your arms want to stand up with all the bio-electricity buzzing around as the cafe sees even more customers this morning than before.

Edwight Thropian Thropian : The other druid is at the counter, along with the two spirit shapes you can see, but not quite make out other than their rough shape. And wait, was that Leif walking by outside? However, it's a small kelp leaf on the floor near the old man that really catches your attention. It shimmers and looks just like the kelp from last night with Chase.

Roje Britt-21 Britt-21 : You smell more than wet dog, there's all sorts of scents. From the deep ocean, a fox, another wolf, seaweed, and more, not to mention the actual food smells that are quickly covering up anything else in the cafe. And oh hey, there's Ed.

Silver Silver- Silver- : Another wolf smell greets you first, but fades as other scents swim over you. There's an actual fox! Along with the scent of seaweed and ocean smells, but more importantly, food!

Indy Rhyme Rhyme : Holy hairballs! There's a lot going on in the cafe. All the sounds are heightened, and the smells too. There's a scent of a fox and an unfamiliar wolf that sends a small alarm bell through you. However, the food scents are quickly claiming the space and making even nearly full bellies rumble with hunger.

Jay simply smiled as Bernard made his entrance into the Loving Spoon. He hadn’t had much of a chance to converse with the older gent as he had with Aodh. Still, he couldn’t help but stifle an ongoing feeling of anxiousness as the man made his way towards the pair. “Tilly!” he called, as he raised his hand slightly. “A cup of green tea and a plate of biscuits and gravy if you don’t mind!” he asked politely, feeding Yun another piece of fruit. He felt a shifting around his neck, a choked cough used to disguise the constricting feeling of Yeung tightening.

The young man pulled at his collar, to tighten and get Yeung to loosen himself, but the serpent didn’t seem to budge, until its head whipped towards the door.
“More sssscentsss… new onesss…” he hissed, his slitted eyes finally peeling away from Marius and Max. Scents of cat, iron, the earth, wolf, and more swirled within the walls of the café. Jay’s eyes followed the serpent’s stare, and he started to sweat. That same druid from last night…

“A ssssimilar ssscent to the one next to you.” Yeung whispered into his ear, finally uncoiling enough to where Jay could breath easily again. “They ssssmell of blood.” A silent gulp was his reply to his serpentine companion.

Soon, Yun too falls still as she observes the new occupants of the Loving Spoon. New faces… How many people came to Marasong yesterday?!? Wait, was one of them pregnant too?? This was just too much. His eyes traced every detail of the newcomers. All of them seemed to be not normal. That’s how he would describe the series of events that occurred within the last couple of days, not normal. The fire, the rain, the feeling of unease at the docks.

Jay stared at Edwight for a second too long, noting his companion was missing. Strange, but… Jay hoped he wasn’t doing anything shady within the town. Maybe he’d be able to ask his fellow druid about why he had come here? Or if he too sensed that uneasy feeling, that feeling of something out there.

Looking back to Marius and Max, Jay noted the old man hadn’t even turned to observe the new entrants. Maybe he should speak with him alone.
“Excuse me…” Jay said to Aodh and Bernard, standing from his seat at the counter. Yun stood and followed after him, as he made his way to Max and Marius. “Yun, stay.” he said, looking back at the fox. The unseen message to observe Roje and Silver was met with a blink. Yeung would be with him, in case something happened. The vixen hopped into Jay’s now unoccupied seat, curling into a ball, her eyes barely visible over her tail.

“Mr. Ryder, Max.” he intoned, giving a small, nervous wave, and a tilt of his head. “Mind if I take a seat? I, uh, noticed you, Mr. Ryder, looked like you wanted to speak to me when I came in. Is there something I can do for ya?”

"It was an eventful one, I can tell you that," Aódh responded wryly, the muted smile impressed on his lips an indication that he didn't wish to expound upon the matter any further, not that'd he be able to explain it properly if he did. The Irishman was about to ask Jay how his night had went were it not for the sudden arrival of Bernard, whom it seems was hot on the youth's heels in getting to the Loving Spoon. "It seems you were dead-set on having a look about the place weren't you?" he questioned, a sprinkle of surprise in his tone at how quick Bernard had been in catching up to him; there weren't too many that could keep pace with Aódh once he gets into a sprint. It was only in talking to the two recently-befriended men that he realised that the biting hunger he had felt upon waking, had diminished in intensity since he had stepped into Tilly's establishment. Perhaps knowing how quickly she was to shovel out food, from his experience of it yesterday, had allayed his stomachs rumbling.

Then, almost as though she had heard her praises in mentalese, Tilly appeared out of the back, the delightful smell of food almost seeming to attend on her as she made way around to where the three men sat at the counter. In her usual, courteous and warm timbre of voice, she explained that all the man would have to do is hail her and she'd be there in a flash, though Aódh might have felt it better to order something as soon as he could, glancing back at the crowd that was squeezing into the café, and have it so that she wouldn't be inundated with orders coming in all at once. At the same time, Miranda had made her way into the building, waving to the lot at the counter, with Aódh reciprocating the gesture alacritously. The young man nosied in on the young woman mentioning that it was difficult to get up this morning but, in an effort to have some manners, he turned his attention towards Bernard and Jay. Or, he would have, had Jay not politely excused himself for a moment, heading over in the direction of where Marius was seated alongside the younger man. If Marius' mannerisms from yesterday were any indication, with the way he had bolted out of the shop, Aódh felt that Marius needed as many people looking out for him as could bear the old man.

"So, what did you have in mind for today then?" Aódh questioned, turning to Bernard, his more sober self surfacing whilst his hunger subsided every so slightly, "I only arrived the day before yesterday, so I could only show you so much. The only thing of interest might be Hatsu's house...poor lad."

A thought snagged him, and turning towards the back of the café, the youth said: "Oh yes, Tilly, I was wondering would I be able to get an English breakfast off of ye, when you get the chance, cheers!"

Innocuous, like a gentle stream weaving through a forest landscape, were the smells of the various people now clambering into the Loving Spoon, coalescing with the piquancy of the food wafting from where the food was being cooked. Yet, the scent of certain people leapt out from that farrago, asserting their peculiarities a bit more firmly. One, much like the young man from the night before, Rhevens, who then had managed to exasperate Aódh into leaving the café, was a werewolf. For whatever reason, indiscernible to Aódh, this scent, clinging to a dark-haired, dark-eyed girl with tanned skin, who entered alongside another woman, didn't seem to agitate him as much, noticing the pair enter through a cursory glance back towards the sound of the door. The other two scents, oddly enough, came from the woman accompanying the werewolf, a woman with long black hair with a pair of earnest brown eyes. His brows scrunched at the smell, which resembled Bernard's in the slightest of ways. How strange, the youth thought, intrigued at the idea that there was more to Bernard than meets the eye. Coping the entire café was this earthy smell, not unlike the petrichor that spontaneously manifested after the lightbulbs had burst the day before. Aódh found it relaxing and only ever so slightly strange, inured as he was becoming to such things in his brief, two day sojourn in the town.

If there was anywhere on the planet to have idiosyncrasies, it was Marasong.

To top it all off, there was a cat.

A cat of all things, mingling with the scent of the taller woman out of the pair.

Aódh smirked.

"Today will be an interesting day too, it seems," he muttered to himself.

"Maybe I should find out who the Uskah people are then." Hatsu said to himself, trying to make a mental note of it. Maybe learning a bit more about the Uskah community would help answer some questions; however, he had a feeling that was far from the case. It was just another unknown tossed onto the growing pile. He moved to sit on the bed as he took another bite of the apple. This wasn't a cupcake, but at least it was a healthier breakfast option. He continued to eat as Bill explained,

Things like this ye really need tae talk to local folk about.”

He nodded taking a final bite of the apple as she got up with a stick of chalk, "Makes sense to me."

Hatsu watched as she drew a circle and runes; leaving the two in silence. He had a feeling his internet search about magic was going to be futile; there was a reason why Hatsu didn't know about magic's existence beforehand. Rather or not Bill intended to, she had let him into her world and she hadn't kicked him out yet. If she was willing to teach him, then he was willing to learn. There was a lot that he didn't understand and if he wanted any chance in finding out what the fuck was happening in Marasong- then he's going to need help. He wouldn't believe it, but maybe him and Bill were going to end up being a team.

“So. Next thing tae solve the mystery of this fuckin’ town. Talkin’ tae folk. Maybe folk who know things and aren’t…y’know. Alyce. Ah, that was mean.

Maybe the pair wouldn't be a perfect team, much like Bill, Hatsu wasn't the best at making friends. He was a lot more of an introvert then he'd like to admit, but at least he was a tad bit more welcoming.

"Yeah, I can talk around, about what exactly? Not sure yet, but I do think-," He started as Bill stepped back to admire her work.
“Right. Let’s see what’s in here, then. Oh, stay out of the circle if ye can help it, Hatsu. And don’t smudge the chalk. Please.”
"Uh hold on I have the key right here-"

He didn't have a chance to get them out of his pocket before Bill casted her spell. He was half expecting a shit storm to jump out and destroy his room. Instead, it looked like a regular empty safe. It didn't make sense especially with how heavy it was. He leaned in careful to not get too close to the circle to examine the safe from where he was. The dimensions didn't work out right, and Bill proved him right as she managed to pull the false bottom out. Soon, she revealed a thick rolled up piece of paper closed shut with some tape. Hatsu motioned for Bill to sit next to him as they unraveled it.

Hatsu laughed. Nothing about this was funny, but he couldn't help but feel a bit silly with how paranoid the two of them were. Add on to the fact that the map seemed a bit too theatrical to be real. It didn't take him long to jump the gun and assume that a certain someone was behind this.

"You know that one shop on the docks, the Imported Booty? Pirate themed? The owner? Can't remember his name, but how much do you want to bet that he might know a thing or two about this?" He moved to grab his phone and took a few photos of the paper. It'll be easier if they didn't have to share, besides it was a good backup in case something happened to the original. "Even if he doesn't, they're directions to somewhere. I need to thank him for the fruit basket anyway so I can go and talk to him. See if that helps us figure out where the hell this is suppose to lead us. Maybe ask Augie about it too. Either way, you are more than welcome to tag along- if not then we can meet up for lunch or dinner and reconvene."

Hatsu was already up and walking across the room, still careful to not step on the chalk, to get his shoes on. It seemed that was enough of a kick in the ass to get him going for the day. There was something else he was going to say to Bill, before they opened the safe, oh yeah-

"Also, I think I'll leave the magic side of things to you. If you're okay with it; you know more than me and it'll probably lead to more answers if you ask the questions."

Bernard sat down, placing his cinnamon roll on a plate. Overhearing that Aódh had an eventful night caused the Dane to cock an eyebrow, giving the impression that he knew what kind of night this Irishman experienced. When asked of Bernard's commitment to this romp through Marasong, he could only reply with a knowledgeable smirk upon his lips. Before speaking, Bernard burdened himself with anticipating Aódh's thoughts: he must be thinking about how Bernard managed to catch up to him so quickly, despite his lanky physique Bernard is not a push-over when it comes to sprints. Although this time, Bernard did not sprint. Indeed, he even took a few moments to take in Marasong's morning breeze. "Well, It wouldn't be right to say I'm dead-set..." He spoke up, chilled voice as always. Before he could explain any further, Tilly had made a sudden appearance with Bernard's coffee.

It was unmistakable. Though Bernard pretended not to notice, it could not be ignored. Unlike before where the elderly woman had accidentally brushed against the Dane's hand, this time she seemed adamant in avoiding contact. But not eye contact... No, she made eye contact when the coffee additions were pushed towards him. Clearly, she knew something about Bernard or at the very least had suspicions of her own. But was it enough from that one touch yesterday? It is not unheard of that people occasionally conduct electricity through surface friction. Everyone has practically experienced it in their life at least once. Everyday, every second, Marasong presents new questions. "Thank you, Tilly" Still he replied with a measured tone. He'll have to make a note later about this as well.

More and more occupants began to pour into the small establishment. Two dark-haired women waltz in, one being exceptionally plumber around her stomach. Bernard had cupped his chin and turned back to his coffee. Letting his preternatural sense to flow out from his body, to ensnare the delicacies of the nervous systems. As Bernard felt the auras of the electric fields, his hairs stand on end. Dismissing the goosebumps, Greve listened to his feeling and it told him that the "bump" on that lady emanated an electric field too strong to ever be a child. Indeed, it belonged to what could only be attributed to a small mammal, possibly a small canine or feline. Yet... it had a tinge of oddness, like when a food critic smells an unexpected aroma. Similar to Boy, if he recalls correctly. For a moment, he eyed the two women that walked in then returned to Aódh and Jay.

Though Jay had excused himself to converse with the older man and younger son.

"Well, coincidentally. I was going to suggest visiting Hatsu's house to see it for myself. Since it ties into the topics that I wanted to chat about, but with this many people—" The Dane moved his arm in a low sweeping motion, reminding Aódh of the increased number of occupants. "I'd say we leave those discussions for the outside." For a moment, Bernard envied the Irishman's ability to eat and be full from normal food. Ah, if only he did not have to rely on siphoning bioelectricity. His eyes trailed off, momentarily distracted from his hunger, unconsciously he touched his bandaged nose. Then came back to earth. "What an odd town." He muttered.

Out Of Words Out Of Words Silver- Silver- Rhyme Rhyme // Fuck it everyone in the damn place LOL

Roje followed the woman to a table along the wall and she carefully got into her seat, trying not to bonk Indy on the table by accident or hurt her in any way within the jacket. "Nice to meet you, Tilly, Thank you." said the vampire before she mentioned a saucer with milk for their friend. Once she was gone, she sighed and rubbed her hand along part of her face before resting her head on her hand "Well looks like your cover is blown, Indy." she muttered before looking at Silver "There really is a mix in this room. It's a lot for my senses." no doubt some of them could hear their conversation if they listened hard enough. "I do know Ed is here. At least we have some familiar company. But I still dont trust the situation here...There's so many in one place, I've never seen this unless it was back in my club." it was very hard to believe but from what she could tell, this place was a sanctuary for people like them. But who the hell ran the place and how? Are they not in danger?

Shit she still had to go see Joe. Fuck. Would it even be wise to leave Silver and Indy by themselves? Should she take them with her? The only way she was going to get answers is if she asked the right people. Her hazel eyes shifted about the restaurant to look at their company, definitely caught some attention, and with her false pregnant belly, it would have brought a lot more attention. Those eyes closed as she spoke aloud "Fuck." was all that could come out from her lips. Just take a deep breath, we'll be fine. Don't let the guard down but dont stand out, even though you obviously already did something so stupid. she thought to herself as she zipped her jacket down a little bit "Talk to me, Sil. What's on your mind other than food?"

“We need to meet these people and figure out what the fuck is going on,” Silver quoted Indy verbatim, however the focus she had to put into hearing her after being suddenly torn from her slumber threatened to stir a headache. Either that or the fact that she was gradually coming to realize she was very hungry this morning. Maybe that was her price to pay for being able to hear animals in her mind? Shaking her head, Silver was thankful when a fresh set of clothes arrived at their door, her shoulders easing in relief at the fact that it wasn’t the typical ‘cheapest shirt, pants and underwear’ combo that one would expect. A black sweater with some black leggings was good enough for her.

Briefly, Silver had pondered the idea of bringing the cat toy or the card with the message on it with them, but what greeted them before they fully reached the threshold of the restaurant was already stirring her wolf awake. Scents wafted into her senses, from deep oceanic ones that had her gaze darting to the stark, white-haired man that they’d seen in front of the hospital before to ones that felt of the earth itself, rich in petrichor and crisp cedar. Ones she didn’t recognize made her shift ever so slightly so that she was closer to Roje, her eyes adjusting to the light of the seemingly homey establishment and Silver then taking heed of Roje’s words of disapproval.

She could feel her wolf’s hackles raising at all the movement, the eyes that glanced at them and then settled for too long. Not to mention the majority of these people were practically emitting their own energies, giving Silver the same feeling she had when the monsoon-like rains had pummeled down on her shoulders. Magic. It was overwhelming— the sights, the sharpened sounds down to the way individuals were murmuring amongst each other to make a cohesive hum of conversation in the air and the power that crackled around each of them, they all seemed like forces to be reckoned with. Tilly sweeping them away made Silver jump internally, her eyes flashing with brief danger before she sighed softly, keeping her eyes trained off anyone else’s as they were taken to their seats. She nodded respectfully to the older woman, noting her strong accent that reminded her a bit of Tucker’s except.. her’s sounded more authentic? Jumping to conclusions wouldn't solve anything but she’d be sure to make a comparison if she ever saw him again.

Her eyes snapped up alertly when her shoulder was touched, but surprisingly, her wolf didn’t snap. It’s ears pricked as if Tilly was someone they should be listening to. “Ah..,” Tilly was pretty perceptive for an elderly woman, vastly unlike those that could barely even get around their own back at home in the states. “At least we didn’t get kicked out.” She offered jokingly, nodding at Roje’s words as she both settled into her fresh sweater and the booth itself. This spot provided at least some cover from onlookers.

If Roje was surprised at the volume of supernaturals that had come to take up a space she entered then all of this had to have been orchestrated. “Oh shit, there’s a fox in here!” Silver’s voice was low but her sudden giddiness lowered her guard a bit as she saw the bushy tailed creature curled up beside a couple of men. One of which seemed to be sipping coffee while the other was.. focusing. She couldn’t tell why she thought that, but it was like he was tapping into the air itself, pulling scents. The wet dog scent that she caught was strong in his particular direction as well. The werewolf. Aside from Ed’s scent, it was one she recognized the most after meeting Rhevens.

Looking to Roje now, she could see the tension in the woman’s forehead and tilted her head a bit. “It’s alright. I think we’re safe here. All of us.” She glanced to Indy for a moment, knowing that if a dire circumstance occurred, she’d grab her by the scruff without hesitation even if she could barely process holding her without shattering her. “This place seems.. pretty active. The air is heavy with more than just talking and some of them..”, she glanced towards the fox whom from this angle she couldn’t really see its eyes but she could guess that whomever the owner was, was also like them to some degree. “Are watching. You were right about the wet dog though. I’m surprised to find one here, sad that there’s no actual dog though.” She offered Roje a small smile, trying to help ease her up a bit. There was no use in worrying over Indy being out. Unless.. there was something else? “What about you? Other than the idea of Beth possibly joining us, you seem bothered.”

Indy was fully prepared to protest at being stuffed into her sister's sweater until the soft warmth of her body heat lulled her into cooperation. Fair enough, maybe the staff wouldn't absolutely love a cat wandering around their cafe. If only they knew the extent of their actual natures--or appetites.

Roje and Silver were muffled by the scratchy fabric. She could feel the vibrations of Roje's voice rumble through her chest as Indy was smuggled inside the cafe, her fur rubbed back by the awkward movements. Even though she was surrounded by the vanilla scent of Roje's shampoo, Indy could tell the moment they were fully inside and seated by the array of smells that smacked her straight in the face. The subtle wet, earthy scent she knew as Silver, only just different enough--another werewolf. Or dog...something. Definitely a dog. And something else, something more...Tangy? Maybe a bit like a cat but no, not a cat--what the fuck is that?

And the voices. So many voices that all collided with each other, all too loud as Indy pinned her ears flat to her skull. Her paws flexed, claws extending reflexively as all the different stimuli churned like a tornado in her brain. She needed to see, she wanted a picture to put to the scents, some way to sort out the information cluttering her mind.

When Roje unzipped her sweater Indy immediately took advantage, popping her head out and giving a small swipe of her paw over her head to straighten whatever fur she could reach. Trying to retain some semblance of dignity despite feeling like a small dog shoved in some lady's purse, Indy tried to look at the room with the appearance of crafted disinterest.

The place was more packed than a small-town jail cell after game day. She didn't even remember that many people living in Marasong but suddenly it was like Disneyworld for non-humans, not a single person carrying a normal goddamn scent in the joint. Silver and Roje seemed to have noticed it as well, tension crackling between them as they cast cautious glances around the room.

And that scent. Indy turned, spotting the fox perched like a person at one of the tables as it watched them keenly. Indy bristled, her tail flicking within the binds of Roje's sweater. Bullshit--the fucking fox gets to sit freely but she couldn't? Absolutely not. With indignant pride, Indy extracted herself from Roje's sweater and jumped to the table, perching herself between Silver and Roje as she locked eyes with the fox.

She flicked one ear. If she wasn't already sure shit had absolutely gone sideways in Marasong, this visit to the cafe would have absolutely confirmed it.

At Silver's words, Indy turned to Roje. Her tail flicked questioningly as she watched her expression carefully. Silver was right; something beyond Beth was bothering Roje.

Trying To Exit Stage Left

While Hatsu moved to get his shoes on, there was some grumbling from Bill. Something about her box being full of horrible creatures, but Hatsu had a piece of paper. However, after a minute or two, she seemed to be moving to follow along. “Sure, hey who knows, maybe it’ll solve the damn beetle problem as well."

First, they'd have to pass by the front desk, where Seraphim was still stationed. She gave them a wave, and held up a couple of vouchers as she greeted Hatsu, "Are you looking for your vouchers? I don't think you've picked up today's yet." Her eyes eagerly shifted over the two of them with barely disguised curiosity.

Thankfully, Bill had taken control of the parchment, and tucked it away in a pocket. It just fit and remained hidden from view. However, before they'd be able to make it out the doors, they'd have to deal with Seraphim in one way or another. She waved the vouchers, smiled her smile, her focus on the two of them as everyone else had already departed.

OOC Information

Hatsu & Bill silverwhere silverwhere BillieRoss BillieRoss : Once you deal with Seraphim and head outside, the activity has kicked up a few notches. Cargo crates are being hauled this way and that. People are out and about, mostly crew from the docked ships trying to get their errands done before the ship is due to leave again. The Imported Booty store is on the opposite end of the docks, nearly at the very end toward the East. When you pass by the cafe, it's very packed when you peer inside, more than you've seen before, and more people are heading inside bit by bit.

Season One: A Night Bleeds

Leif Hjalkarssen

Leif chuckled at the fact he missed the obvious switch mentioned by Seraphim when he asked for the fire to be put out, but it wasn't a genuine chuckle. He had a lot more going on, certainly enough to make him not see the switch on the wall. He thanked Seraphim regardless, took the vouchers she offered and headed out.

He instinctively expected the burning sensation caused by the sun on his exposed skin. He didn't expect to instantly combust, but he also didn't expect to be barely bothered by the sun. Apparently, all the last events made him temporarily forget the great benefits granted by supernatural blood. Some things didn't change across multiple universes. Or maybe they did. Just in case, Leif kept a mental note not to remove the strange ring he had on his finger.

The docks presented an overflow of information to one's senses, from all the stores to all the people working and moving about. Leif watched as a large man hauled cargo from a ship, someone who looked strangely familiar.

Then, as he passed by the cafe, even more familiar faces. Some were the people who were teleported into Marasong with him, but Leif stopped by the window when he spotted the old man he saw by the clinic the day before. The man didn't seem to have noticed him at all today, a huge change to his behavior the day before. But someone had noticed him. An older woman seemed to smile as she nodded at him, nodded as if greeting an acquaintance at least. Only Leif had no memory of her. Perhaps he was imagining it. He should stop by later, hopefully when it's quieter.

As he turned his attention back to the stores lining the docks though, he froze, a chill going down his spine as he spotted something that completely erased any other thoughts in his head. As he saw that someone, or something, suddenly going into a store way further toward the end of the docks, he completely forgot what his original plan was, or where he was going. All he knew was that he had to follow them, no matter what. He'd find a lot more information than he could possibly find in an old phone.

Riley Adler/Boy

The tail wagged as the dog watched Augie take care of the rocks and shells, and ears pricked forward when the man talked about having a collar made for him. The tail stopped wagging, but only briefly. While the collar idea was awesome, Boy really didn't want to profit from that little treasure pile. No, that should all go to Augie. Perhaps he could have a collar made from the next pile, not this one.

Boy waited patiently till Augie was ready to leave, which took a little longer than usual. He made sure not to stare while the man changed his clothes and all, now that he wasn't blind. He was a dog, sure, but he also wasn't. He thankfully didn't feel the urge to follow Augie absolutely everywhere, and he was sure that'd count toward their friendship whenever Augie realized he wasn't just a dog. Sure wouldn't look good if he cultivated the dog habit of following his owner into the bathroom.

He followed Augie lively, trotting back and forth while Augie seemed to take twice as long as usual to move about. Augie was clearly still puzzled about his sight returning, and Boy really didn't blame him. He was puzzled himself as well. But he didn't really mind Augie's eyes on him.

When the man held up the branch and said the word 'fetch', Boy ran up to him with as much excitement as a dog could show, stopping right in front of him with eyes on the branch, ready to chase. It might seem trivial, or even stupid, but it was a big thing for him. He'd never played fetch before, not while being able to see!
