Fantasy Idols Against the Dark (A fantasy world powered by music)

There is a legend that long ago the land of Harmonia was a place of peace and song, without a trouble to be found. It was ruled by a just family that held the power of the Bright Note, a song that sealed the power of Disharmony and all its dark forces. For years the family held the line against the hateful dark, until a rivalry sprang between two Prince's of the land. One brother took the throne and gained the power of the Bright Note, but his brother was scorned by his family and sought out the power of Disharmony known as the Rot Note, and took the title of Usurper. Using the power of the Rot Note he allowed the forces of Disharmony to enter into the world and destroy all things that man had made.

The King stood against the Usurper and with the power of his Bright Note he managed to seal his brother within the realm of Disharmony but was too weakened by the fight to fully seal away all of Disharmony. So instead he used what little remained of his life to divide his powers to those who held powerful music inside of them. Those who gained the power of the Bright Note became known as Idols. Using the song within themselves they bring fight against monsters and bring hope to the world.

Today Idols are gathered by large organizations tied to the three kingdoms of Harmonia, The organizations supply them with goods and transports so that they can bring light to the darkness of the world. In both combat and performances Idol's rely on their corporation to keep moving forward.

Tempo Kingdom- The first kingdom to rise from the ashes of the previous world this kingdom is the central hub of humanity. They devised many of the tools and methods that allowed other kingdoms to be protected from both internal and external monster threats. Their society is based in classical music and traditional styles, blending together soft tones and warm melodies to destroy the darkness within people. In battle they often take a role behind their allies, using their powers to heal their fellow Idols or calling down powerful holy attacks upon foes.

Rhyme Kingdom- The second kingdom of the new world, based around the idea of newer ideas and experimentation. A great deal of the newest advances in both technology and culture spring from this kingdom and create academies for blossoming Idols and sciences. Idols from this kingdom are as varied as its people, drawing inspiration from almost everything. Due to this versatility they can fill almost any role within a group.

Flat Note Kingdom- A kingdom only within name this squalled city is occupied by those who were rejected by normal society and were thought of as a risk to the world. Life is harsh and food is far from plentiful, often the only thing that keeps the people within the kingdom from rioting of harming each other is the ever looming threat of the monsters drawn to their negative emotions. Those who are sent there must stay or risk the wilds to form a village outside of the protections of the kingdoms. To those born within the kingdom if they show talent are allowed to venture to one of the other kingdoms for training, or stay within the muck and hope that they can carve out a life. Idols from this kingdom are made hard as stone from their times, their music drawing from their pain in order to enhance themselves in combat. They do not dismiss pain but rather plead that others use their sorrow to push themselves rather then become drowned within it. Of course from this kingdom rose a new kind of Idol, fueled by Disharmony they use their power to corrupt people in the hopes to bring back the Usurper.

There are small villages that exist independent of the kingdoms, keeping to themselves or trading they exist within their own world. Idols from smaller villages will often have hearts full of naive hope and optimism, untouched by the world outside. They have faced hardship but clung to their light. Their power is often strong but untempered, coming in explosive bursts rather then controlled attacks.

Idols: Those boys and girls who hold a powerful 'song' within themselves that the shards of the Bright Note cling to and grant extraordinary powers. They are amazing performers even outside of their powerful Idol forms, and will put on performances to both raise money for their organizations and to show the world that things can get better. When confronted by the monsters of Disharmony they reach into their inner song and allow their music to play about them, giving them a powerful new form and powers.

Disharmony Monsters: Creatures of Disharmony that are born from the negative realm of Disharmony and from the darkness in peoples hearts. These creatures form from massive storms of dark energy and seek to spread misery around the world to break the seal the King put on the world.

Dark Idols: Idols who have fallen to Disharmony they seek to spread malice across the world in order to fuel the plans of their dark master. They are lead by a man known as Mephistopheles Rotchild, who is said to hold some sway over monsters and rewards powerful Dark Idols. There exist only two ways to defeat a Dark Idol without killing them, shattering their song so that they can never sing again, or purifying them with a powerful ritual to save them from their sorrow.

The Story: A new group of Idols from around the world have received letters from the Rhyme Kingdom organization, seeking to bring together a new group. From across the land they gather to protect the world from the ever growing darkness of Disharmony.
