Hello everyone!

So, I'm working on redesigning my characters, giving them a bit of an update, and with that new character threads. This thread will contain OCs for use in RPs. Now keep in mind I don't usually do this, I'm more of the mentality of making a character for the specific RP, but I do have a couple of characters that I feel could be used for their own plot, and thus this is where I'll put them.

  While Knekt is virtually nomadic, making a point of moving to a different city or even country every couple of years or so, he doesn't make a distinction between shop and residence.

  Greedy, freedom loving (only loves his life more than his freedom), extremely curious, cunning, manipulative, grateful, fail and try again attitude
  
  Knekt is the epitome of a merchant: He is greedy, manipulative and only cares about what he will gain out of any action- but so long as he's agreed to do something, he will not cease until his honors his compromises. This may seem odd given his laid-back attitude in trial and error, however to Knekt the path isn't as important as the ultimate result. As long as he fulfills his part of the deal in the end, that's all that matters. Thanks to his generally patient demeanor and this display of honor in business, Knekt earns the trust and loyalty of the vast majority of his customers, with no less credit to his skills of course. That said, don't take it as Knekt being honest. He is quite willing to use all of his cunning and every low blow and dirty trick in and out of the book to reach his goals, of which his own survival and freedoom are of utmost importance. Even his life is valued mostly because he isn't free without it.
  
  Even if not as much, there are certainly other important things to him though. He loves money, and is extremely curious, which combine with his capabilities for learning fast and his mantid extreme focus make it so he absorbs new knowlegde and thinks about new things he discovers at record speeds. He has, however, a warped "common sense" and values that easily alienates him from anyone not interested in purchasing something from him. Not that he particularly minds, or even notices all the time the way people look at him. Once again, as long as he can live freely and achieve his goals, that is all he really cares about. But he certainly wouldn't earning a bit of wealth along the way

  Backstory:
  The scavenger knight was once a well-known name near the kingdom of Shivehrowl. A knight who would gather even peieces of his defeated opponents to make new weapons. A knight who would to battlefields where battles had just taken place to loot the flallen soldiers. A knight with no regard for manners, civility or honor, who would do anythng to survive. why did he collect all of what he did? No one knows. Nobody ever got the chance to find out. One day, as the knight wandered, he was kidnapped by an extensive group of mantid who were at war with the kingdomname kingdom. With their magic, the mantid stripped the knight of his memories and encased him ambar, transforming his body into one of their own over the course of a year. He joined the ranks of the mantid as a footsoldier for a time, but soon moved out. He was toogood for a mere foot soldier, but not enough to match an elite fighter. No, his talents lied elsewhere: Given a little leash, the new mantid soon fell to old habits of collecting and looting corpses and experimenting in the creation of new weapons. Some of these proved to be so effective, that he was fully assigned to this kind of research, now taking even living victims and perfoming increasingly bold experiments. As more and more of his mind's freedoom was returned to him, all but twisted in service of the mantid queen, he created the weapons that would finally set him to be a candidate to become a mantid hero, a paragon, once the war was over: kzkxidta. He was given a name by the genemancers that tended directly to the queen and his laboratory's resources expanded even further.
  
  Meanwhile, the war with kingdomname raged on.Kneckt went out to collect somemore material for his experiments, but felt a sharp pain in mind, then found himself caught in the middle of a reckless surprise attack from some reserve forces the mantid had been hiding. Caught in the midst of the battle, Kneckt was severely injured, including most of his antennae getting sliced off. He passed out, but svurvived, just barely.
  
  As it turned out, a young boy recruited from a nearby village, had his brother kidnapped by the mantid. Upon finding Kneckt injured on the battlefield, yet sitll helpless, the boy sneak the mantid into a castle and tied him up, then nursed Kneckt back to health. Naturally, Kneckt was shocked at such a behavior, but more importantly, he was distrought by his sudden inability to receive the queen's orders. Thanks to the damage to his antennae th psionic communications of the queen ocould no longer reach him. He panicked but was forcefully calmed down with a herb-based cocotion. He was frequently administered this cocotion by the boy, and being able to stay calm, Kneckt slowly but surely managed to learn how to somewhat speak a human language again. He also had time to dwell on his time in the swarm, on the hazy mind he used to have, on his reasons for following the mantid queen. It just...made sense to. There wasn't a reason. There wasn't a reason NOT to throw your life, your work, everything you are away at the queen's command....or was there? The revelation of the twists on his mind led Kneckt to the realization of his enslavement: And a steep grudge for it.
  
  Still, Kneckt wasn't about to just throw away his kept life and newfound freedoom away for something like revenge. He'd get back at the hive if the chance came around, but until then, there was no need to concern himself with it. Nonetheless, there was still that boy asking about his brother, and Kneckt explained the awakening to him: The genemancers accelarating the creation of mantid by turning the kidnapped into mantid soldiers. Fortunately, Kneckt also had a good hunch of where they might be able to find a genemancer, so together with the boy and a group of his friends, Kneckt ambushed the genemancer that had come to collect the ambar where Kneckt would be encased when the war ended, made into a paragon, a hero of the mantid preserved for when the time when they were needed again would come. The cerimony would take place there, but instead, it was the place for Kneckt's first great act of payback. Using Kzkxidta, Kneckt slaughtered the guards and extorted the inquisitor for information on the recently turned. Fortunately, one of the turned seemed to match the description of the young boy's brother, so Kneckt tried to get the way to reverse the turning out of the genemancer as well. The genemancer didn't know how to do it, giving only hypothetical possibilities, and in between spilling out a terrifying secret:
  
  The mantid queen was already dead, and the genemancers were simply continuing the war in her stead, mimicking her commands to the hive. There wa sno longer even a drive to win: the hive would just continue to wage war forever. Knekt cared little about that last part, though. Rather, to hear that he was following the orders of genemancers instead of the queen, something about it just irrated him to no end, and he killed the genemancer on the spot. It took knekt a few days to discover how to form a potion that would turn the boy's brother back into a human. During that time, the group identified Knekt's identity, and the issue of whether Knekt would return to being human as well was brought up. Knekt, however, felt he wouldn't want to give up the way he was for a second time. He finished his potion, and with yet another ambush, the group managed to subdue and turn back the boy's brother. He was disoriented and his memories shattered, however. A full recovery wouldn't be possible by any means Knekt knew.
  
  The boy and his friends decided they would take care of his brother from that day forward, back in their original village. Knekt, on the other hand, was now wanted by both the kingdom for being a mantid, and by the mantid for being a traitor. He still had his skills as a mantid, and the weapons he made (Kzkxidta) and which were bestowed upon him (the twin ambar blades), so he would travel away and seek to learn more. He would make full use of his newfound freedoom and exploit the magic of Euphorium, understand it to it's core, so as to never have a failure like the youg boy's brother.
  
  The first thing Knekt set out to do was find a way to improve his skills at alchemy. Even though he was undoubtedbly skilled in taking apart and using parts of fallen foes, to truly extract every property of the world that surrounded him, he would need the arts to isolate that magic. Knekt found himself a guru of sorts in a certain old lady that was lived through the magical revolution that had taken place several decades prior. She taught him the secret to making worldhole properties into potions and the limitations of that pratice without appropriate magical tools or spells. Using his hyper-focus as a mantid, Kenkt would quickly absorb just about everything she had to teach him, and he even became her assistant for a period. It was during this time, that Knekt came to a realization about the fluids that coursed through his body that made him suggestible to the queen's orders. The sort of influence it exerted seemed rather similar to the emotion humans knew as passion or "love" from their descriptions. He began experiementing with the fluid, and created a potion that would create a compulsion in however drank it to feel those emotions towards a specified someone: A love potion. Knekt's teacher found out about this and sent him away, saying he had already began walking down a path should could no longer teach him about.
  
  Knekt came to establish a small shop in the kingdom of Shivehrowl, selling the potions he made a few exclusive collected goods. Though an independent mantid wasn't a well-received presence, Knekt was surprised to find some establishments were actually ready to accomodate him, and eventually first through the more desperate and working his way upwards, Knekt began to make a bit of a name for himself as the alchemist of Horittown. Even nobles would occasionally come and request his work. One such noble, a lady who was bethrowed to a man she was arranged to marry since very recently, came to Knekt to request what was pratically known as his trademark product: the love potion. In order to avoid disappointing her family, the lady wanted to take the potion and love the man she was arranged to marry. Knekt had to no reason to refuse and prepared the potions, oblivious to the fact that, not four days later, his little establishment was stormed by the guards and Knekt was taken to a cell in the king's dungeon.
  
  As it seems, the lady he had given the love potion too had taken (against his recommendations) too much of it, and felt such sorrow from her "beloved" so much as leaving her for half a day to hunt that she threw herself off the tower balcony. The king seemed to believe this was a delibate action against the kingdom. Knekt was to await for a week for his trial, during whcich time he conversed with the princess who'd secretely come to visit him in order to hear tales of his bizarre adventures. And then, the day of the execution came. With information he had been able to gather, Knekt used some ghosttrail powder to escape the chains and the crowd and run to the place where they kept most of the things from his store. He recovered his weapons, some vials and potions, and destroyed what remained, ESPECIALLY those love potions, which he swore he would never again make. Knekt escaped the kingdom, witnessing as alchemists were arrested or went into hiding everywhere thanks to the king's new law banning alchemy from the kingdom.

  Since that time, Knekt remains travelling to this day. He sets down shop in a town or another for a while, but rarely does he stop moving for long.

  Skills/Talents:
  *Alchemy and Euphorium Biology -extremely skilled and knowledgeable alchemist, biologist and researcher of Euphorium life, being aware of the properties , extractions and applications of virtually everything in it- from the smallest part of the most exotic creature, from the foggiest legendary weapon, to the magical value of the dust of a deep mountain pebble.
  
  *Quick learner- Knekt is quite a fast learner, be it pratical or theoretical knowledge.
  
  Powers/Abilities:
  *Those inherent to his species (flight, extreme focus, sensitivity to soundwaves and psionic waves, ...)
  
  Items:
  *Kzkxidta- a meticulously constructed pair of shapeshifting weapons, one relying on an essence of darkness and another relying on an essence of light. The two karmatic forces will consume the user if their heart is out of balance, either too destructive or too protective. Besides their shapeshifting, the weapons can also alter their tangeability.
  
  *Twin Ambar Blades- as the name indicates, a pair of blades forged from ambar given to Knekt by the mantid queen (or so he used to think), as a sign of his status as a soon-to-be paragon of the mantid.
  
  *Magicomium- a book storing an infinite space that can be shaped by the owner. Within this book, Kneckt keeps his nearly endless collection of potions, materials, weapons, etc... everything his collected through his years of research and trade.

  The Mantid Race
  
  The mantid are a race of humanoid insects possessing the expected exoskeleton-covered body with a golden-orange due, 2-4 pairs of arms and four antennae. About half the mantid are born with wings that allow them to hover rather high, but none of their bodies bodes well in water. They don't tend to have long life-spans, with non-queen mantid seldom reaching the age of 40 (though a queen can live for centuries). Depending on their stage of development, a mantid' height relative to a human being will vary. Human children dwarf mantid children, but are quickly surpassed because mantid grow up extremely quickly, two years being already a late bloomer for an adult mantid, and those are considerably taller (on average) than the average human. The reason why mantid can afford to grow so fast is because one's ability to think isn't a requirement for a mantid to become an adult: the mantid need only be capable of performing their functions and follow the commands given by the queen.
  
  A certain fluid within a mantid's body stimulates it to make them extremely susceptible to the order's given by the queen psionically communicated from her to the mantid's antennae. The mantid then become euphoric as they follow the given orders, and their entire focus is put into following those orders. Being constantly barraged by such orders is what gives the mantid, even those that happen to free themselves from the queen, a capacity for hyperfocus, and that capacity leads to each mantid finding their own specialty within the hive and those aren't good enough to specialize, become soldiers or workers- disposable. This goes to the point where should a mantid queen be killed, most of the hive will simply become unable to take any actions, or just continue to do the last job they were assigned until they starve to death.
  
  Only two kinds of mantid get the luxury of being pratically independent from the queen. The first are the paragons. Paragons are mantid of such talent, that the queen allowed them more and more freedom in order to be less of a hydrance to their skills. After a paragon has sufficiently proven themselves, they will be given two ambar blades as a sign of the queen's favor, and that they will soon be themselves ritually stored in ambar. Doing so will keep the mantid preserved through the ritual's magic, in stasis, until the time comes when the paragon's skills are needed. Paragons are the only mantid with names, which are often given to them based on what distinguished them as mantid heroes.
  
  The second kind of free mantid are the genemancers. These spellcasters use a primal transformation magic and apply it for several effects, the most common of which is unaging the queen's body and serving as advisors for the queen. For this reason, they are the most valued members of mantid society after the queen, and are given freedoom of thought in order to better serve as advisors. it's also the genemancers who transform ambar-preserved humanoids into more mantid, though this is usually only done during warfare, as it's a very inneficient way for mantid to reproduce compared to other available methods.
  
  There are two other kinds of magic some mantid possess, and these are psionic magic (magic that can create and manipulate psionic waves) and ambar magic. The later is particularly important for the mantid, because so much of mantid culture and society is based around ambar. They build their homes and weapons with it. They mix it into a drink and consume it. They use it for decoration. They use it ritually. And the magic to manipulate it can too be used as a weapon. A mantid discovered to have talent with ambar magic is usually immediately assigned to working on ambar refinement. Ambar itself is a mixture of tree sap and a few other ingridients, with the best ambar containing even traces of gold, the being magically refined into the final product.
