The moon hangs high above the highest tower of Ophiuchus Academy, as campus prepares to welcome it's newest students and teachers to the family. The gates slowly swing open as a horde of will-o-wisps illuminate the pathway into the school. In the Grant Atrium awaits the Academy's Headmistress, Ophidia Astraea, smiling softly, surrounded by a few other members of the Academy, all awaiting the new arrivals in silent joy...aside from one who made it rather obvious they rather not be there at the moment.

Bob reclined in the bus, idly watching the scenery roll by. It was pretty trippy that he was on some magic bus to some magic school, but honestly he was taking it pretty well. Bob's gaze wandered to his reflection in the window, matching his eyes he quickly reupped his high. Giggling to himself as his vision doubled and the world spun, he remarked to himself, "Duude." Eyes grew on the ceiling and Bob readjusted his headphones, turning the volume up on his music. The world spun out into a vortex of color and noise, as he sank into a happy stupor.

Larius gave an annoyed growl as he looked at the blacksmith class he was to teach. Obviously someone forgot to stock up on metals and didn't leave a note saying if the metals will arrive sometime tomorrow or in a few hours. Raking a hand through his long red hair, he set out for his other class that he was to teach. Alchemy. He placed a hand a hand on the knob and tried to turn it but to no avail. He tried it the other way, still it would not open. He pulled it while turning the knob, causing the door to open slightly but still not fully. Frustration was rising in his mind as he began growling at the damned door while pulling it to open. Finally he got it open, but looked at his hand to see the entire door with knob in hand.
"Dammit!"
He said to himself as he looked at the metal and saw it was still attached, clearly the metal opened the door for him. Mumbling to himself about seeing if the damned doors could be fixed, he stepped inside the room and breathed in with his nostrils to smell...no ingredients for the potions or for the other things. A loud chest rumbling growl echoed in the room. His classes weren't prepared and no one had set a note for to say when or if he was getting his things!

"Beautiful Night, is it not?" Remarked a man who appeared to be late for the gates' opening, wearing a black cloak with green shoulders, drinking his cherry extract while holding a bird staff in the other. He appeared to arrive just in time to see the new arrival's bus in the distance. It is a known fact to most of the staff is that Roman Curios is the more 'blabber mouth' of the bunch, but it is just in his nature. 'Hmm...Should I be the one to give cheer?...Nah, that's the head's job.' he thought, glancing at Mistress, noticing someone missing. 'Oh? Someone not here? Ah, it's Abs Dragon, isn't it?' He shrugged at the thought as he heard some growls in the distance. It sounds as if Abs Dragon, Larius, is enraged by something. . .Well, he's always pissed anyway, so what's new? Roman will assist him in Alchemy class? As if!

Roman's class is far different than anticipated; he may look and dress like an Alchemist, but he is in charge of teaching Mana; the very fundamental of Magic itself. It sounds like a basic class, true, but he knows how to make it fun and interesting. He had learnt some tricks in his years as an Alchemist's apprentice after all. He let out a grin as he drink his Cherry extract from a potion glass. Perhaps this year would prove to be...Quite interesting.

Ophidia Astraea
The Headmisstress turned an ear in Larius' direction, as the dragon raged at the lack of preparation, and sighed softly. "Oh, dear me...would one of you please see what has gotten Mr. Arthfael so distraught?"

Amaya Aisushima
With a sigh and a roll of the eyes, the teacher of Animancy offered herself by making her way off to the dragon's classroom, all while calling out, "Alright, big guy, a bit early in the school year to be having a fit, don't you think?"

"I wouldn't be growling if no one had set aside a note to tell me if my items were coming today or some time soon! I hate it when I have nothing to prepare class with! I have my own tools for blacksmith class but no metals are there for me to demonstrate with! The ingredients for Alchemy class is no where to be found and I find myself at wits end trying to think of how to show the class what the class is about!"
He said, raised voice as he raked a hand through his hair once more. Frustrating of how unprepared everything was, he tried to think of how to get around it.

"Alright, alright, take it easy. Look, if you calm down, I can get you the supplies you need until yours gets in, 'kay?" With that, the mini-professor pulled out a sketchpad and pencil before glancing back up at the dragon man with a grin.

"Just tell me what you need, and I'll make it."

"Sure, AniAstro...."
He said while listing off what metals he needed. Mostly iron and steel for now but other metals could wait for the more advanced techniques. Basic herbs that could create healing potions and basic poisons, chalk for drawing the magic circles, flasks for the potions, and charcoal.
"Got all that? I'll be setting my lesson plans if ya need me."
He said while looking at the smaller professor. While he was 6'6", he knew not to mess with her or some of the other teachers. Still didn't care if he gave them nicknames they didn't like.

Amaya Aisushima

Pausing briefly, Amaya squinted a bit at the nickname. 'AniAstro'? She would have gotten upset, hadn't it have been clever. Just shrugging it off, she quickly began working, sketching out the items listed and bringing her sketches to reality once she was done. She then took the liberty to set everything aside in a neat fashion.

"Don't say I never did anything for you, got it, Abs Dragon?"

She looked up from her pad with a smirk.

His left eyebrow twitched as he gave a low growl of annoyance. Damn Roman to give him the damned nickname, but let it slide. Amaya had done as he asked and he was thankful for it. Now, to clear the damn room to find and...He began to take deep breaths to calm his dragon blood. Being a hybrid wasn't sunshine and rainbows, he fought tooth and claw to be where he was today.
"It's better than Bookworm. It combines your two classes together. Animancy and Astronomy. Now, try not to call me Abs dragon. I get it enough from Roman."

"Well, you have a point there. Fiiiiine, I won't call you that...how's Blackemy sound?"

With a chuckle, Amaya rose to her feet, storing her sketchpad away in her ever-present messenger bag before looking over.

"So, ready for the new year? Gonna be fun watching new student chaos. Bet $50 there's gonna be some beef within the first week."

Larius just shook his head at the childish attempt to give him a nickname from someone that was way older than him. It wasn't a bad attempt but still needed work. Zether was fun to talk to, or listen to her music. Poor woman became a banshee but still loved music. Constellation was iffy with talking to. Eartalker was just someone he avoided like hell, gossiper or not, he did not want his personal space touched by that woman. Websleeper was meh, the guy could get more sleep and stay off the damned internet so much. Heather was also iffy to talk to, loved plants and animals more than anything.
"I wouldn't bet on it. It will happen and I'm not putting any money down on who starts it. Students will be students, poor or not. They need to face reality of things and live with the possibility of discovery by other humans. Not everything is stars and butterflies. I would know first hand..."
He said while tailing off at the end, memories reminding him of how much he struggled to get where he was.

"Yeah well, I guess you have a point there. I kinda have a feeling this year's newcomers might actually be interesting for once. Hell, maybe so interesting, Little Miss Chatterbox will have enough gossip about the students that she'll keep our names out of her ginormous mouth. I swear, if she starts one more rumor about me, I'm gonna sneak into her room at night and empty out a stapler into her lips."

Amaya and Alii'Aolani never did get along, from when they both started at the Academy to now. It had been said they used to be childhood friends, but when asked what happened, not even Alii said a word. Whatever happened had to have been bad.

"Well, if that's all you need, I'm gonna go make sure Hisoka isn't asleep somewhere weird again, and then I'm gonna sit in to hear Symphony warm up her fingers on the Atrium's piano. See you later, big guy."

With that, Amaya scurried away to search for her perpetually sleep-deprived brother.

Hisoka Aisushima

Oh, the painful regret of a 36-hour online gaming marathon. He never intended to play for so long, he just wanted something to soothe his first day of class jitters. Unfortunately, now he's jittery for other reasons. In his defense, he did take time to plan out his lesson plans on the computer, and do some research for his class, so it wasn't like he completely wasted his time. But now he was in trouble, as the new students are on their way, and he looked like the soul was sucked right out of him. There is absolutely no way that coffee or an energy drink would save him now...maybe a power nap was in order. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't make it to his room, and ended up crashing hard in the East Hall.

Symphorine Dicentra

Ivory fingers tickle ivory keys as the Banshee Professor began to play in the Grand Atrium. She wanted to make a good first impression on the new students, and what better way than to show them the power of music. She decided to use her fellow professors as test subjects, as she ran through a few songs to find the best one. All of the songs she played seemed to cause her to radiate a soothing aura as she got lost in her own melodies. Music may have aided in her death, but not even death could pull the former opera singer away from her first love.

Larius chuckled at the thought of Eartalker not trying to gossip on him, Amaya, or if they were an item. Same with Zether or the other female teachers. He just didn't have much of a love life and rarely did he open up about his personal life to anyone, even the headmistress. Hearing the grand piano in the atrium being played told him Zether was playing. Deciding that his class was good as it was going to get for the moment, he left the room to see if Zether, Heather, or Websleeper were up for any talking. Websleeper might be out as the darn man couldn't focus on anything other than the internet.

Symphorine Dicentra

The banshee continued to play her heart out on the piano, as a small cluster of will-o-wisps seemed to be attracted to the music and began to swarm her, giving off soft lights of different colors. She seemed to be blissfully unaware of her surroundings...and the glaring eyes of one certain Herbology teacher.

Guadalupe

Guadalupe had no problems with music, or Symphorine. She didn't. What she had an issue with were all of the wisps her virtuous melodies attracted whenever she played the Grand Piano. The wisps always seemed to cause the plants in the Grand Atrium to wilt, due to their tie with the death. The disgruntled forest nymph's wolf ears twitched in annoyance, as the swarm of wisps caused the once lush plants of the Atrium to wilt and die. With narrowed eyes, Guadalupe began to use her favored abanico, or hand fan, to swat the wisps away from her plants. She slowly made her way across the Atrium, swatting wisp after wisp.

Sarah was patiently waiting for the bus to arrive at the academy. As she waits she reads a new book she got recently. The book was about lucid dreaming and how to control the dream world. While the school is full with supernatural beings. She was basically human. sometimes? She master the ability to turn into any animal and sometimes she like to spend days as an animal. Her favorite a white wolf. As she finish reading the chapter age was on she drops her bookmark a eagle feather. It blows to the seat in front of her. " excuse me, can i get my bookmark back?"

Larius saw the wisps floating as he neared the Atrium and knew Heather hated things that destroyed her precious plants. Knowing a fight between teachers was bound to possibly happen, he hurried to the artium to see Heather glaring at the back of Zether's head.
"Hey Zether! Your wisps are being a bit deathly with the plants!"
He said as he neared the piano.

"Hm?"

Symphorine turned her head toward Larius as he spoke, her fingers never stopping their tune. She looked around as the wisps that had gathered, a slight look of confusion and surprise playing on her face. Her eyes stopped at Guadalupe, who continued to fight the offending wisps. The forest nymph glanced back over to the pianist before speaking in a thick Spanish accent.

"Symphorine. Por favor, all off your wisps, they always kill the pobre plants, this is the 14th time this week I have revived them. I do not want los ninos coming in and seeing plantas muertas."

With an improvised end, Symphorine stopped the music, causing the wisps to abscond back outside. The banshee quickly, but gracefully stood up from the piano bench before giving an apologetic bow.

"Forgive me, 'Lupe...I wasn't aware that my songs were causing the wisps to come in and harm your plants...I will be more careful, now that I know."

Roman was simply sipping away at his cherry extract when he began to hear music. It was calm, and soothing...It was the Banshee professor who was playing it after all. As he turned around to comment on how grand the music was...He saw Guadalupe swatting away the wisps. Which is bad, considering the Wisps are supposed too be their light source. Soon enough, The Banshee took notice of Guadalupe's actions thanks to a certain latecomer and stopped playing. He glanced at the voice which is oh so familiar.

"I hear you have a conundrum, Abs Dragon~" Roman's snarky greeting as he let out a grin. "But I assume that's been taken care of?"

Oma had been siting in her seat catching small insects and animals and feeding them to the potted plant in her arms. The plant is question was a clipping from Oma's mother tree which now acted as her mother tree a ya-te-veo. the little tree looked like a small trunk and a mass of tendrils waving around grasping for something to devour. Either way after awhile of sitting on the bus waiting and feeding her mother tree a feather blew onto her seat. She picked the feather up and looked it over her first thoughts were to find the bird and use it as fertilizer as while normally birds were poor meals at the trees size it would be fine for now. This plan was put on hold as a voice from behind asked for their bookmark back and Oma assumed that the bird the feather belonged too was no where nearby.

Oma moved up and looked back and saw the human girl behind her that must be the owner of the feather, with her free hand which was covered in what seemed to be moss she handed it back " You wouldn't happen to have the rest of the bird else where would you?" She asked with a smile. \

Larius glared at Roman for the comment on being called Abs Dragon but let it slide since Zether and Heather were here.
"I did have it taken care of, Feather Hair."
He said with cold stare. He never liked the man but he respected him for being a fellow Alchemist. He turned back to look at Zether and Heather.
"Heather, you know the wisps are our light sources and swatting at them will lessen the amount of lights we have. Zether, beautiful music as always but a bit careful when giving into summoning wisps."

The banshee took a gentle bow of gratitude at the compliment of her music, as Guadalupe glanced over at Larius.

"Yo se, I am aware what their purpose is. I have no issue with wisps. Pero, they need to stop killing plants. If they keep killing plants, I will put them in vine cages."

"A-Ah, 'Lupe, that would be cruel to the wisps...perhaps I could be of assistance. I will play a Song of Protection. That way, the wisps will be happy, and your plants will be spared."

The forest nymph contemplated the idea, one ear twitching in thought.

"Hm...very well, si. If it works, muy bien, I will leave wisps alone."

With that, Guadalupe summoned her staff, raising it slowly before banging the end on the floor twice and making her way out of the Atrium. Within seconds, the wilted plants returned to their state of full bloom. Not long after she stepped out, the sound of a hit, followed by a surprised yelp was heard coming from the East Hall, followed immediately by what sounded like stern rant in full Spanish.

"I'm afraid not. The feather actaully came from me. It's from one of my animal forms." Sarah says in kind but direct matter. Sarah was trying to thing of the best way to this person tree thing that it was hers. Most humans outside her tribe couldn't understand that she can shape shift into animals. Sarah speaks again " i'm a shaman and can turn into any animal. Can i have it back. please!"

"Geez, that sounded rough." Roman jolted as he heard the yelp. "I'll go see if she's okay, 'ciao," he waved as he shoved his cherry potion into his sleeve and headed to the source of Guadalupe's scream; The East Hall.

"Okay, what's going on he--OH." Roman asked as he saw someone lying on the floor. It was none other than the Supernatural Studies Professor, Hisoka. "Great. Neeto is sleeping on the floor again." He sighed, turning to Guadalupe who's currently ranting about the situation in Spanish. "Mind if you search for Miss 'Maya Aisushima? I think she was looking for this guy, um...Por favor?" He wasn't that fluent in spanish, but at least he tried saying please.

Once Roman entered the scene, he was greeted to the sight of one angry forest nymph to appeared to have tripped over the exhausted Supernatural Studies professor. Must have been in her own thoughts as she walked out in a huff. Guadalupe looked up at Roman before standing up on her own and sighing hard through her nose.

"Si, Señor Roman. I will go get her."

With that, she began to walk off, muttering under her breath at how ridiculous Hisoka is. All the while the aforementioned professor continues to sleep away on the hallway floor, being completely unfazed by being both tripped over and screamed at.
