Miki flushed a bit before snuggling into him. She smiled and mumbled, "Night." Before falling asleep.

"You liar"


Lazarus jerked awake at the sudden noise and blinked as streams of sunlight hit his sensitive eyes. Had he fallen asleep in Jack's condo? When his vision finally cleared, Lazarus noticed the said vampire leaning over him with a bit of a mischievous grin.


"What are you going on--" He began to say but was cut off as Jack shushed him into silence and pointed at Miki sleeping snug in his arms.


"You sir, are a liar"

Miki shuffled a bit, her ears picking up the sound of voices. She ignored them and snuggled in a bit, falling asleep again.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus let out an irritated sigh as Jack gave him an amused smile.


'get a room' He mouthed before practically skipping away.

 

[IceQueen]

Miki turned over and opened her eyes. "What?" She mumbled. She blinked a few times before turning to her master.

 

[Cyan]

"Good morning" Lazarus breathed, running a hand through his hair. "Did you sleep well...?"

 

[IceQueen]

"Mhmh." Miki said. She yawned, twitching her ears.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus slowly sat up, letting Miki rest her head on his lap as he let the morning grogginess fade. He glanced at a digital clock hanging on the wall and frowned when he realized it was ten in the morning.

Miki yawned and purred. She smiled. "We should get going." Miki said.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus nodded his in agreement and rose from the seat, stretching slightly. It had been a full day since he last had something to eat. He considered asking Jack for some blood but he knew that his friend preferred to drink from a live host so he rarely kept any blood packs lying around. Lazarus kept his thirst in check as he offered Miki his hand. His self control was legendary but that didn't mean it would last forever.

Miki took his hand and exited the mansion. She took care to stay close to him.

 

[Cyan]

The drive back was as painstakingly slow as its ever been as Miki's smell wafted throughout the enclosed space. It tempted him more than he cared to admit. When they had arrived back to the mansion Lazarus didn't even bother to close the car doors and immediately started for the kitchen. He could feel his strength slowly sapping from his limbs as his feet gave way from under him. He used his remaining power to drag himself to a near-by wall and sat slumped against it. Lazarus couldn't even call out for Sebastian as his body refused to obey him.

Miki walked over to her master, concerned. She blinked at him. "Are you ok?" Miki asked.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus' eyes flashed red as he caught a whiff of the fresh blood coursing through Miki's veins. He lunged at her like a cage animal, pinning her arms to the ground. He grazed his fangs along her neck, drawing blood.

 

[IceQueen]

Miki was a bit surprised by his actions. She didn't cry for help, she just stood there. She had been used as a blood source before.

 

[Cyan]

After he had his fill, the usually calm vampire stumbled on his feet and began backing away. Lazarus wiped the blood from his mouth and glanced at Miki who seemed paler and weaker than before. He didn't know why she hadn't struggled but either way he couldn't trust himself around her. With a shake of his head he disappeared from the hall and into his chambers. He locked the door, throwing the room in thick darkness.

Miki stood, only a bit feeble. She walked to the door and knocked gently. "Master?" She asked. She didn't want to hurt him or push him away.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus shut out Miki's voice. Wrapping himself in the silence of his mind until falling into a deep sleep. Sebastian appeared then,placing a hand on Miki's shoulder. He shook his indicating that her attempts were going to be fruitless.


"The master's emotions are fickle milady, but I assure you he will recover"

Miki nodded and headed to library to settle down for a bit. She sighed, worried that she had frightened her master.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus refused to leave his room for seven days, only accepting the occasional blood packs from Sebastian. Jack came to visit everyday worried for his friend and to keep Miki company. The little Neko had become almost like a sister to him. It wasn't until the eighth day had anything transpired. Sebastian walked into the library where Miki and Jack were currently staying.


"The master wishes to see you" He said, gesturing to the Neko. Jack gave her an encouraging smile.


"Ask for some light" Jack whispered. He gave her a wink before announcing his leave and disappearing out into the hallway.

Miki walked to his room, quietly knocking on the door. She was hesitant, very worried. "Master?" She asked.

 

[Cyan]

The door slowly opened. The room was a mass of gaping blackness. The light from the hallway couldn't even penetrate it.

 

[IceQueen]

Miki walked inside. She used her ears to locate her masters soft breathing. She walked up to him, holding herself high. She reached a tentative hand towards him. "Are you ok?" She asked, truly concerned.

I purred softly then tilted my head "I'm Sayuri. But I prefer Rose instead." I said as my ears twitched.

"I'm sorry..." Lazarus whispered, placing a gentle hand against her neck. The bite mark still shone red and tender.
