"It's ok." Miki mumbled in return. She was beginning to feel sleepy, and within seconds she was fast asleep.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus awoke to a bright flash that went off inches from his face. He instinctively covered his eyes and gave an incredulous look as he saw Jack hovering above him with a camera.


"This is going to be a keeper!" The vampire exclaimed, looking at his camera screen.


An irritated glint flashed across Lazarus' eyes as he slowly sat up into a sitting position. Jack immediately pocket the camera and gave a nervous laugh.


"Ahahaha...so how was your camping trip?" He asked in an attempt to change the subject. But it only earned him a rather painful punch to the shins. Jack went hopping around the tent yelling ow's as Lazarus turned his attention to Miki.


"Good morning" He breathed, a small smile spreading across his face.

Miki awoke with the flash. She saw Jack hopping around the tent and laughed. She stopped when she felt his breath on her face. "Morning." She said.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus let out an uncharacteristic hum as he patted his he gently petted Miki's soft cat ears. He could never get enough of the silky feeling. He slowly pulled her form towards him and situated her comfortably onto his lap. Jack watched from behind the scenes with a surprised look across his face. It had been such a long time since he last saw Laz this...'open' before.


"Heh looks like plan A was a success..." He muttered happily to himself "Now just B - Z to go -.-"

Miki purred as he petted her ears. She sat on her lap and leaned into him.

 

[Cyan]

"Well don't get so comfortable you two!" Jack exclaimed, interrupting their moment "We still have 4 more days of camping to go and today I've planned a little hiking trip through the woods!"


Before Lazarus could object he had already flung himself out of the tent in a flurry of laughter.

 

[IceQueen]

Miki looked at him. "Well then." Miki said.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus sighed, snuggling his head in the crook of her shoulder.


"I suppose we should follow the idiot after getting dressed" He mummered, though he still kept his arms firmly around her waist as if reluctant to let go.

 

[IceQueen]

"Yeah, we should." Miki said, reluctantly. She sighed, leaning into him.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus turned and slowly slid himself from under Miki. He reached for their duffle bag and took out some fresh cloths. He slowly slid of his old shirt and discarded it into the bag before turning towards Miki and offering the bag to her.

 

[IceQueen]

Miki was a bit taken aback by him suddenly taking off his shirt. Trying not to look, Miki grabbed her shirt out of the bag.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus slipped on the fresh shirt and turned towards Miki to realize that she was in the middle of taking her own shirt off. He immediately turned away, an almost invisible blush coating his cheeks. He made a mental note to get Sebastian to buy some undergarments for her in the future.

Miki changed her shirt, hoping that Lazarus was being a perfect gentleman over on the other side of the tent. She slipped the fabric over her head and the gashes on her back. She stretched and walked over to tap his shoulder, which was difficult considering he was almost twice her size.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus hesitantly turned towards Miki, a less than appropriate image of her burned in the back of his mind. He cleared his slightly dry throat.


"Ready?"

Miki nodded at him, a smile on her face. She though he was acting a bit funny, but not to strange so she bushed it aside.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus opened the tent flap and held it open for Miki, still avoiding eye contact. Once they were both outside, the clean fresh mountain air and bright sunlight greeted them. Lazarus let out an inaudible hiss, covering his sensitive vampire eyes.

Miki looked into the sunlight, squinting her eyes. The air was refreshing to say the least.

 

[Cyan]

"Lazarus catch!!"


Immediately the said vampire caught what appeared to be a makeshift map. Lazarus looked at it quizzically as Jack came bounding over to them.


"Were going to find the Waterfall of Wishes!!" He exclaimed, waving his own map in the there.


"The Waterfall of Wishes" Lazarus stated with a blank stare. Jack gave an enthusiastic nod before pointing towards the acres of thick forest below the mountain.


"And that is our starting point!"


"...what about food?"


Jack gave Lazarus an incredulous look when he remembered Miki standing behind him.


"Ah! No worries I've got 2 days worth of granola bars in my backpack" He exclaimed, patting his trusty pack. Lazarus sighed and glanced at Miki, silently asking if she was okay with all this.

Miki sighed. "Jack, when are you going to learn to prepare?" She asked him.

 

[Cyan]

"You two worry too much..." Jack mummered before bounding down the mountain side and into the trees. Lazarus muttered something incomprehensible under his breath before turning to face Miki. He offered his hand to her.

Miki slid her hand into his. She smiled at him, her heart skipping a beat.

 

[Cyan]

Lazarus gently hefted her up into his arms and smiling slightly as he felt her heart beat quicken into his chest. His mood was already brightening just from being in a close proximity to her. He wondered when his feelings for his neko had grown so much but his thoughts were cut short as his feet touched the dirt caked forest floor. The air had suddenly turned humid and sounds of wild life echoed all around them. It felt like they had been climbing the top of mount Everest only to find themselves in the Rain Forest! Lazarus held Miki closer to his chest as a snake came slithering toward them. He kicked it away with a little hiss, his over protective side showing.

Miki clutched his arm when she saw the snake. If it was uncommon knowledge to humans, cats hate snakes. With a vile and horrid passion. She hissed at it, clinging tightly to Lazarus. She relaxed a bit once it left, her heartbeat slowing as it slithered away.

 

[Cyan]

"GAH!!" Jack yelped as the snake came hurling past him "What the heck, Laz!!". The said vampire only ignored him as he gave Miki a reassuring kiss on the forehead. He wasn't particularly fond of snakes and apparently so was his Neko as he had felt her grip tighten at the sight of one. He pulled away but didn't bother setting her down. Who knew how many more of those things would be slithering around in this dense forest and he could never let his Neko be bitten by one.


"Geez" Jack huffed, walking up to the two. He seemed to have changed from his snow attire to a nice beige colored adventure outfit that tour guides in a Zoo would wear.


"Now that were all here we can finally start the adventure!!" He exclaimed before pulling out his map. He held it up in front of him, blocking the view from others before pointing at a random direction. "On wards!!" He yelled before stomping off into the forest. Lazarus sighed, shifting his arms a bit to make Miki more comfortable and walked after his friend.

 

[IceQueen]

Miki was safe in Lazaru's arms, being carried swiftly across the land. She smiled and leaned into him, purring softly.
