Basically, your character reacts to the environment I create. I control NPCs, the setting, and any threats that appear to you, as well as keep track of your inventory. You have to make decisions on what to do, while I create the outcome, which may or may not involve dice- but I try to keep things realistic. Your character may not succeed at everything they attempt to do, and they can die. The actual roleplaying I do is through the NPCs your character encounters.
The setting is a 70's-themed, post-zombie universe. The world is entirely fictional, so there shouldn't be any references to real world products, people, or places. The ambiguously-named country in which the roleplay takes place is pretty much an emulation of Vietnam-era United States, though. The outbreak occurred almost a decade ago, and the government's continuity of operations plan was put into effect, and martial law was declared. Eventually, they began to retake the country and safe regions were designated by civil defense. Though, many cities are still overrun and filled with zombies and bandits.
