bro
etcetera
still crazy to me how they let me have this username. im THE bro. anyway.
Hi!!! I really, REALLY like men, and I also love storytelling with other people. I took a LONG ASS break from RPing, but now that I'm interested in and ready for something relatively long-term, especially in terms of OOC planning/discussions, here I am! Hopefully. My schedule is a gift from the depths of hell and me being really, REALLY lazy definitely doesn't help. They/them, please!
I: Prompts/Ideas
...
I will add more to this eventually!
- Academia
-
Love, love, love academia. I love scientists, school rivalries, student rivalries, academia politics, research, the stress of discovery, the stress of networking, the stress of classes, the stress of inventing, the stress of the constant catching-up, the relationships that develop as the stress also develops, etc. etc.
- (WIP! I'll add more specific ideas later.)
- Toxic Relationships
-
REALLY love exploring toxic or otherwise unhealthy relationships. I like exploring them in a romantic context, familial context, platonic context, and whatever other context there is out there. Doomed lovers, jealous siblings, rival friends -- anything that can spark unhealthiness, I'm looking at it. There's something about being unable to look away as a relationship completely falls apart and both parties tear into each other, kind of like watching a trainwreck. I do like wholesome stuff sprinkled in and I usually dig happy endings, so I won't be ALWAYS exploring the whump/toxic aspects of the pairing, but I do like throwing characters in a room together and seeing just how they make each other worse.
- (WIP! I'll add more specific ideas later.)
- Misc.!

Some random stuff!

Here are a few examples of my writing:
tw: cursing, mild gore
Christopher is in the middle of testing his latest neurotoxin when Briana, after three hundred thirty-seven years of being dead to the universe, nudges his satellite. The disturbance is unwelcome. The explosion of creanis petulentis in the eastern wing of his territory requires his full focus, and any bump of his attention in computing the most efficient means to set them all on fire is equivalent to a declaration of war. He promptly shoves her greeting with a series of particles roughly translated as Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck—
Hi, she says again, in that unnervingly silent way of hers. In every message delivered across the communication channels is always an implication of their name, age, and current projects, but Briana’s messages, since the Mistake, are empty, strings of code occupied only by her words. He's forgotten how old she is by now and wonders how much longer it will be before he forgets her name. He identifies her only through the lack of her name in everything she sends him. Could you check my progress so far?
No, he delivers, and emphasizes his busyness with an image of the chemical composition of the neurotoxin.
But Briana is a monster who doesn't care for boundaries and sends him the genetic blueprint of whatever has been keeping her occupied anyway. Against his better judgment and perhaps out of a severe disrespect for his well-being, he downloads and runs the blueprint through his simulations, and feels a generator somewhere in his eastern wing stutter. A 3D amalgamation of flesh and circuitry haunts his processors for too many seconds before a Well, what do you think? from Briana quickly encourages him to delete it permanently.
He pushes their conversation off to the side and divides his attention equally between killing the plants and hoping she kills herself. I think you're insane.
It'll work this time, she says. Sometimes he thinks she was designed to be predisposed to delusion. If not for her, it will for him.
They're dead. That same generator rumbles. He blames it on a vine sneaking its way into its chassis. And you're insane, he considers adding, but he sent that already, and she doesn’t respond well to repetition.
She doesn’t respond at all to repetition, and he’d return to 10 storeys of circuitry and parasitic plants and neurotoxins, and Chris hasn't spoken to anyone in three hundred thirty-seven years.

tw: implied child abuse (emotional)
The first thing Rui does on his fourteenth birthday, right as midnight shows its face, is hide all his pillows. Three hours later, he wakes to his mom sitting on the edge of his bed, her arm dangerously close to where his pillow was, and he realizes that he is in fact capable of making smart decisions.
Within seconds, she knows he's awake, tucking her hand close to herself and tilting her head. Against the ill-feeling silver light from the window, she looks hideous, all the wrong bones accentuated. Her hair is a visceral mess. He really does worry that one day he will wake up and find a skeleton on the living room couch.
“What do I call you?” she says. She tilts her head, her eyes rabid. Rui tugs his covers closer to his face.
“...Rui,” he says.
Her body tenses, head twitching as she hangs it low. A hiss slithers from deep within her throat. “That's not your name,” she tells him, and curls her fist into the sheets. “Stop using my son's name.”

tw: smoking, cancer mention, implied suicidality
“T-Tha— That's bad for you,” Knife says. "Y’know?”
Nuke brings the cigarette to his lips for another puff of show death. "So you've said,” he says, "43 times.”
He's been counting apparently, but Knife doesn't believe that number. He thinks it was 52 last week.
Nuke isn't looking at him, so Knife doesn't bother with a smile. He pokes at a hangnail. “Still, lung cancer is— I-It’s a bad way to go out?”
Nuke chuckles something pretty. "I won't live long enough," he says. “Now quit your patronizing. Your curiosity is turning into ‘meddling,’ and a meddler is the last thing we need right now.”
"You should try a— a vape. It’ll take you out even faster."
Nuke inclines his head to the sky.

II: Expectations
...
- Be honest about being a minor or an adult. I don't really care how old you are, but I'm much more comfortable RPing with someone who is an adult. I will not do anything adult-related (dark topics, etc.) with a minor. Again, be honest.
- Communication! Although I'm ghost-friendly, I would still like for you to communicate if you're growing bored, if you won't be able to talk in a good while, if you're struggling to come up with something, if you think we aren't a good match, etc.! If there's anything you don't want to talk/write about, let me know!
- Passion in OOC discussions!!! Since I'm MUCH more active in OOC (planning/outlining/discussing/mini-RPing), I'd prefer if you're able to match that energy and enthusiasm.
- Please contribute! I don't like feeling like I'm carrying everything and I like it when other people give me their ideas, too!!!
- I'm not really all about that "literacy" stuff; as long as I'm able to read your responses without getting an aneurysm, we're good LLOLOLLLLL
- Patience! I sometimes take a while to come up with responses.
III: My Writing
...
- I write in third-person present-tense.
- I'm currently limiting myself to 1-3 paragraphs per response to prevent burnout.
- I prefer low-to-high fantasy settings with a mix of modern-day elements.
- I prefer discussing plots/relationships/etc. before roleplaying.
- I enjoy romantic, platonic, and familial relationships! I prefer MxM, but can do MxF. Not experienced with FxF.
- I can only play as humans or human-adjacent characters (ghosts, werewolves, etc.). I may have NPCs who are neither, however.
- I like connecting my characters to the world and the people in it, so expect a lot of side characters and NPCs, and a lot of world-building.
- I can take some time to get a post out IC, but I try to make up for the lack of activity IC by being active OOC!
IV: About Me
...
- I'm an adult, in nursing, and from the Philippines!
- In OOC, I talk without punctuation and 90% slang LOL
- I'm a system of 12+! I may forget things.
- I curse an almost excessive amount. My bad ^-^'
- I have some no-no topics: irl politics (even when mentioned vaguely), Homestuck, and Stardew Valley.
- I like chatting with my roleplay partners!!! I'm prone to loneliness, and I make friends through creating stories together!
If anything here interests you, DM me!! I'll give you my discord and we can continue OOC there. If you want to continue OOC on-site, that's perfectly fine!! Let me know what you're good with <3
