I have 2 questions actually. About Gifs and Notifications

Why are gifs no longer allowed in signatures? If it's just because they're distracting it seems kind of offending that we're not allowed to personalize ourselves in the way we want. There should be an option to turn of gifs for people if this is the case.


Also, why do I stop getting notifications on some rps? I don't know if this happens to anyone else but I'll realize I haven't had any recent notifications about a rp and I'll check to see if it did indeed happen to "die" and find 3-6 pages of things I had no notification about even though I "watched" the thread. Is this a bug or is there a reason for this? It's really annoying when you have to play catch up and people think you "ditched" the rp.

It would require a lot of money and time for us to be able to moderate gifs, or offer the option to turn them on or off, in fact it took us a good while to just allow still pictures without issues. The main concern is a problem we've seen consistently looking through them on our site and that's that a very very large amount of them can trigger epilepsy, anxiety, and panic attacks.


Our notification system tells you outright that "So and so replied to this thread, others may have responded after it." It does not give a notification for each individual post and groups them together so no one is getting spammed from their threads with about 30+ alerts for the same thing.

And for the notifications I know that part. It's just I'll reply and then not get a notification that anyone replied after mine like it used to do before the change. I'll check to see if anyone responded after me and there'll be at a couple more posts that I had no alerts about. I thought you get a new set of alerts after you reply. I've had several people in some of my rps say they stopped getting notifications, and apologize for the delay.

Okay, the two things I found was:

• Either dismissing alerts, which is mainly, hover over it then undo so the notif goes away without visiting the thread itself.
  
• You're watching the resource of the thread, not the thread itself.
