I'm planning to make an RP here and see if anyone is interested:

The world of Croelea was once a relatively peaceful world. Once ruled by Empress Euphemia, most of inhabitants greatly rely on magic in their everyday living. The world also had its schools which performed various researches to further develop the knowledge of the Croelean inhabitants for magic.
One of these schools was the ambitious Aurora University. Its team of magi researchers, led by the charismatic Valgus (known to be one of the brightest minds of the Aurora University, as well as his countless philanthropic deeds throughout the world), set out on a journey to the heart of Forest of Serenity in the attempts to research on how to further harness the power of light. The forest is known to be extremely dark, so dark, sunlight hardly reaches the forest floor. The forest was also known to emit high levels of Aethereal Energy (a type of magical energy known to be produced by stones in the Forest of Serenity) which was then essential for their research.
The magi researchers spent six months in the forest. In the last three months of their stay in the forest, Valgus locked himself in a special chamber for intensive research on light energy. After that, Valgus went out of the chamber, however, he didn't seemed like he's the same Valgus that went inside the chamber. He repeatedly exclaimed that he is successful in his research. He mentioned, "for the world to truly find eternal light, the world of Croelea must sink into eternal darkness". He took the blueprints of the Shadow Accelerator (a device used inside the chamber used to produce darkness from its surroundings which is needed for their research).
Knowing that Valgus is going to use the blue prints in order to create a gigantic version of the device and producing such amount of darkness from such device would mean catastrophe to the world of Croelea, the magi researchers of Aurora University tried to stopped him from leaving the forest, however, Valgus's newly acquired power is far too great for them which annihilates all of the magi researchers except for one, Lucis an apprentice magus of the Aurora University.
Several months later, Valgus has gathered his minions and created alliances from which leaders became the commanders of army, The Atra Cruce. The destruction he caused to the land became to great for Empress Euphemia to ignore. She has summoned her soldiers to stop him, however, none was successful. Eventually, she have received word that his army is marching towards the Gaea Castle where she resides. She knows that in her castle, Valgus will use the great Croelus Crystal for his plans. In order to stop this, Empress Euphemia assembled the greatest heroes of Croelea to stop Valgus from using the crystal, which includes Lucis (as he is the one who knows Valgus the most). Since no one actually knows what kind of power Valgus has (though Lucis knows Valgus uses the power of Light and Darkness, he has no idea how to defeat such power), Empress Euphemia granted them the power of time to aid them in fighting Valgus which she had acquired as she became the empress.
Then the climactic battle in the Gaea Castle took place. During the battle, the Giga Shadow Accelerator which Valgus brought sustained heavy damage during the battle. With the heroes at the brink of being annihilated by Valgus, they used the Power of Time to seal away Valgus. However, in the last few moments before Valgus was completely sealed, he managed to briefly trigger the Giga Shadow Accelerator which caused a great burst of darkness throughout the world of Croelea. Thousands died in the initial blast. The world found itself in an almost irreversible state. However, it was not enough to engulf the world into darkness and Valgus was completely sealed.
In some places, the destruction rendered them completely inhospitable. Others that somehow managed to survive found themselves trying to defend themselves from waves of hostile mutated creatures and new life forms. The remnants of the soldiers hid the cube where Valgus was sealed to a place they thought no one would ever find.

Due to the loss of so much forms of magic during the Darkness Burst (as many have dubbed the event) two thousand years ago, the inhabitants of Croelea turned to developing technology in the attempts to survive their ever hostile world. However, a small number of magic forms did survived and was passed on for generations, also thanks to those who attempted to research on the lost magic in the past.
The slowly recovering world is now under the leadership of Empress Emeraude. Like her predecessors, she has also acquired the power of time. And with this power, she had a premonition that Valgus will be unleashed from the cube where he was hidden. Doing so will cause the whole world to be in great peril. Knowing so, Empress Emeraude has mobilized some of her knights to search for anyone that might possibly doing something to unleash Valgus from his seal while she is preparing for a possible war against Valgus.
Meanwhile, the organization Atra Cruce was assembled by its remnants centuries before while making sure their organization is kept hidden and out of sight by the Knights of the Empress. After centuries of searching, they finally found where cube is kept. It was deep inside the caverns of the badlands of the north. They have been abducting researchers in hopes of reviving their master. At this rate, it's a matter of time before Valgus has been revived and cause great chaos throughout the land.
