General Idea: Just thinking on this. I am completely flexible to change. Come to the out of character chat to discuss more!
My general idea is that I'm presenting it as simple points to start with, and then we can elaborate later. A very eerie song plays on the radio every night at a particular time and lures people into the isolated wilderness of the north. My inspiration came from this Evocation. It is beautiful and haunting, but you can imagine your own version, too. Those who hear it often go missing. Yet, the mystery remains unsolved, adding to the intrigue. Anyone who hears it will undoubtedly experience terror and paranoia that something is out to get them. This community, deeply rooted in its folklore, culture, and religion, has always had a strong connection to the wilderness. The mysterious song, therefore, is not just a random occurrence; it is believed to be a manifestation of their deepest fears and darkest beliefs. The community remains tortured for three long months, with thirty-nine people going missing before the song abruptly stops playing at night. Its sudden disappearance leaves the community in a state of eerie silence, adding to the mystery and fear. Search parties are still marching forward, searching for survivors, but five had already been found dead. Hope is dwindling; they are entirely shocked to see another five alive! Desperate for answers, they find none, as those found have no memory of their disappearance. It was like they were never gone at all. The urgency and suspense of the situation are palpable.
- I was super inspired by a series called 10 PM and FROM. Both give the sense of purgatory.
I also got some real deep inspiration from TRUE DETECTIVE NIGHT COUNTRY
The story goes from here, you are either one of the five characters returned or you are part of the community grappling with this. It's a broad spectrum. Although, it's seclusion makes it pretty easy. It is winter time and so there isn't much going on in these parts. It's just a lot of snow and ice and frozen over islands and lakes. A bit of a bitter arctic feel.

So, the five people can vary in age. It totally doesn't matter to me. They just will have been found together. Oddly, they were just standing there dazed and stunned when they were found. They had not lost any weight, they were not cold, they were wearing the same things they wore the night they disappeared and they were left completely pristine. Almost too clean. Brought to the hospital their vitals seem normal but something seems off. There are moments where they straight up seem processed and paranoid. That is because they are possesses. In a way. If anyone has seen the new series TEACUP it is sort of the same plotline. So, they are in a sense possessed by whatever is taking people into the forest. They can feel it's presence, communicate with it in a sense. Through dreams and bouts of fever. This baffles doctors and family alike. What happened to them in the cold dark forest and who or what did this.
It's clear the entity is either try to warn them away from something or destroy them. It's up to the story to figure out which.
Please do feel to add to this plot or flex it a bit. These are all merely rattling off ideas.

"It was the same as always." His calloused hands fidgeted. "It was the same as always," the older man repeated slowly as he paused to wet his cracked lips before continuing. I could feel it before everything happened. Running a hand over his crinkled face, it was as if Frank was there. He certainly wasn't there at the police station. The sheriff's lips stiffened, and he shifted in his seat, folding his hands before him on the light pine table. "Just tell it to me simple, Frank." Simon was a reasonable man and didn’t want to re-traumatize someone who had lost a brother. Frank was part of the community. He had grown up with these families, his family, and they were tight-knit and close. Something like this was significant and strange. Simon was merely being respectful and attentive. "I have to record this, Frank. I’m sorry; it’s only because I must gather evidence for the investigation. You know that, right?" The word "evidence" stumbled over his lips. Frank was his elder and it was odd interviewing him like this. Frank nods and straightens himself up. "We were fishing all day on Tinman Lake. Caught almost nothing. It was a really rough day. After that, we went to Kent's like we always do." Kents was the only bar in town, a pub in the hamlet's center since 1759. Falling apart and ancient, it was often a retreat for fishermen and working men alike. "We went to Kent, had a drink or two, and then returned to George's place. As always, we were going to watch a movie and shoot the shit, you know." His voice lifted as he finally brought his bloodshot, desperate eyes to meet Simons. "Then the song came on, and we all thought it was a joke. Until George stood up and walked out." Another pause followed, and Simon waited to see if there was more. "Did the song keep playing?" Frank shrugs. "It kept playing for a bit, but only George... George was the only one who went." Nodding, Simon tapped his fingers. "Are there any other details you can think of?" Another pause, and Simon believed he had more. "It got hot and smelled weird," Frank huffed. "I know it’s a strange detail, but it’s been unusually frigid lately. We elderly folks are obsessed with the weather, you know. You’ll get there. You'll see, son."
