Whilst in the middle of Superjumping to an ally in battle, a tear opened up under Reirei, causing him to fall into it at high velocities. Screaming, the Inkling took the sudden fall, landing on top of someone. He threw a burst bomb at his feet, which exploded upon impact with the ground covering whoever he landed on in ink as he rapidly shifted to squid form to hide in the ink, desperately hoping he wasn't falling into enemy territory.

"Oh dear," Histoire said as this odd squid kid landed on top of...


"UGH! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'M NOT EVEN THE RIGHT NOIRE FOR THIS GAG!" Exclaimed the one the Inkling fell on top of.

Reirei was confused, to say the least. Who were these people? They looked like older Inklings, but they also didn't at the same time... His ink seemed to stick to them, so they must be enemies, right...? Or they weren't in the battle... Their hair color certainly didn't match the enemy's hair color. Emerging from the ink by taking kid form again, Reirei looked them over suspiciously. "Hey... are you part of this battle?" he asked, voice sounding like he was gargling water.

"If you are referring to the Console Wars... that ended years ago..." answered a younger looking lady.

"No, the turf wars," Reirei shook his head. It befuddled him how someone could not know about something that was such a huge part of Inkling culture. Turf wars had been going on for centuries! Had these Inklings been living under a rock?

"Goodness, you don't know where you are... do you?" Nepgear asked.
 
"Yeah... are you not an Inkling?" Reirei asked, scratching his head. "Where I am?" Taking a look around, Reirei realized for the first time he wasn't in the middle of a turf war.

"Yeah... I'm waiting for an apology..." Noire said, covered in ink.

Noire turned away with a bright red face of embarrassment, "Th-thanks... But it's not like I want you to..."
 
"I'm fine," Reirei responded. "I take falls like that all the time, so it's no big deal. I'm sorry about the ink: it should come off with some water."

"Ah, that is good news." Tear replied to the inkling "Even if I fail to understand how ink may be washed out with water..."
 
"It just... scrubs away, I guess," Reirei shrugged. "It's like how I dissolve in water."

Reirei shrugged. "There's a lot of things that don't make sense. It also doesn't make sense that over 80% of my planet is water, and yet I can't swim in it."

"I can swim," he defended, "swim in ink. My body dissolves in water. I can't swim. Trust me, I've tried."
 
Reirei shrugged. "I dunno. We don't now, if we did before. Besides, I'm not a squid, I'm an Inkling. Or am I a kid? That's the real question!"
