"Growf!"
This is the story of a Hunter/Investigator vs Target/Subject of Research. It is an MxF possible enemies to lovers type romance. Slow burn works best, though my character is a bit manic. Once he takes a liking, he can go a little overprotective. He can also act a bit creepy. (He tests ladies he likes this way to see if they are just sluts or women who will take offense. He grew up in the 30s and 40s when women acted like women and were good and decent, God fearing folk.)

Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom, justice, law, victory, and the sponsor of arts, trade, and strategy. She is also a goddess of warfare, though with a focus on strategic warfare, rather than the violence of gods such as Mars.
It is also her society name in the Order of the Illuminati. But that is really a misnomer. The original Illuminati were anarchists; it’s complicated. Her group is an offshoot that is really very different. But they haven’t been able to escape the name. They watch for such things as proof of MIBs, Reptoids, UFOs, vampires, satanic cults, and so on.
Her latest research has brought her to Las Vegas. She had discovered two photos taken decades apart, one in 1953, the other in 1975 - 22 years apart. They were small group photos of some military men - with a medevac pilot. It looked like the same man. Modern facial recognition software gave a 73% match despite the degradation of the photos. It took a great deal of digging, but she found him. The incredible thing was the name. It was a perfect match. James Edward Thomas.
A search on the name turned up the fact that a man with the same name and appearance showed up every 10 years or so, typically in the military and as a medevac pilot. But there was more. He had never aged. So what was he? Vampire? Probably not as he wasn’t bursting into flames in sunlight. Reptoid? Possibly. They were once worshipped as gods known as the Annunaki.
She has discovered that he is currently working in Las Vegas at a small airfield, with a few small aircraft and helis. His business did short range private charters, scenic local tours, thrill rides,stuntwork, and gave lessons. (Lessons require a background check since 9-1-1.) He had an old biplane for doing thrill rides and stunt work.
My Character
Exactly what he is is intended as a surprise. But what will be known is that he has been an aircraft mechanic and a medevac pilot with insane skills. He is a war hero several times over from multiple wars. (A standard tour of duty in the Korean War was a year. He was there for 4 years. The average lifespan of a medevac pilot in Vietnam was 4 weeks. He was there for years. In both cases he was a volunteer.) However, he was never a combat pilot or soldier in those two wars. He would have had the training of boot camp in both cases though.
In the Korean War he was a Warrant Officer. In Vietnam he was an officer. That meant he had to have a college degree and gone through officer training. (Army in both cases.)
He likely has considerable ambulance tech skills.

Her task is clear. Confirm. If he is a threat to mankind, report or eliminate. There is still a lot she doesn’t know. Exactly what kind of threat IS he? How old is he? What is he? For example, if he was a vampire, has he sired others? If he is an alien, what is the plan? Invasion? Or is he just lost and trying to get by?
How will she watch him? Surveillance? Some sort of direct contact?
