Hunted x Twins x Craze

Recently several Hunters have been killed by an unknown nen user. The Hunter Association has sent many people to defeat the mysterious person, but to no avail. Called the 'Nen Slayer,' the nen user continues to hunt Hunters. Gon and Killua will soon have to face the enemy (or is it enemies?) while dealing with their own growing feelings for each other.

The sun’s rays shining directly onto his face stirred Killua from his sleep. Although warm, the light annoyed his eyes enough to make him want to move. Unwilling to part with his warm blankets, he irritably yanked the covers over his head to block it out.

Unfortunately, he was already awake enough to be unable to easily fall back asleep. Just his luck. Sighing, he pulled the blankets off and sat up. He nearly shivered at the rush of cold air but quickly adjusted. A few curt taps caught his attention, making him look to the window of the small hotel room. On the windowsill sat a determined pigeon with a small note in its beak.

Killua left his bed and went over to the window. When he opened it he nearly caused the bird to fall off balance, making it give a muffled squawk of indignation. Muttering an apology, he took the paper it held out to him. The pigeon, apparently satisfied that it had completed its mission, flew off. Killua watched it leave before closing the window.

He opened the paper and read the message. It was a letter specifically for Hunters, so that bird must have belonged to a Hunter as well. Once he finished looking at it he headed over to the bed across the room. "Hey, Gon, you awake?"

"Hey, Gon, you awake?"

The sound of Killua's voice startled Gon awake. "Mmm what?" With some effort, Gon lifted his upper half of his body up. One eyelid opened up to Killua looking across at him from the bed. His other eye was closed as one of his fists rubbed it. Feeling stiff, Gon stretched both his arms up and pulled his muscles. A slight shiver ran down his body. Finally feeling the energy arising Gon turned his attention back to Killua.

"Good morning Killua," Gon said. Then his eyes glanced at his hand that held something peculiar. "What's that?" with a jump off the bed, Gon walked over to Killua grabbing the letter and recognizing the Hunter seal on it. With furrowed eyebrows, Gon read the letter. "Nen killer?" Gon whispered.

"Yeah. Apparently he's dangerous enough to warrant a warning to all of the Hunters." Killua noted, crossing his arms. He was surprised that they hadn't hurt about this sooner, but then again, it seemed like this murderer had tried to keep a low profile until recently. As expected, there wasn't much information on this 'Nen Slayer' yet.

"It's too bad the letter doesn't say who died. Then we'd be able to guess how strong he is." The message only said that many Hunters had been killed. Killua liked to think that he and Gon were fairly strong compared to several in the association, but at the same time it was best not to get overconfident.

Gon's brows were still furrowed, expressing his thinking except Gon was having a difficult time thinking. After several minutes of thinking about this Nen Slayer, Gon gave a huge sigh. His hands moved up to press his head hoping to ease the pain. Then he lifted his hands up and he lifted his head and suggested, "Why don't we go online and see if there is a list up of the Hunters that were slain and perhaps see if there is any information on him?"

Gon handed the letter back to Killua. On the back of his mind he held one thought,
I hope Leorio and Kurapika are okay. His friends were dear to him and he hadn't heard from them in a while causing worry on Gon.

"Sure. There are some computers down in the lobby we can use." Killua suggested, walking over to where he had tossed his backpack the previous night. He pulled out his clothes and tugged on his shirt and pants. After taking a moment to adjust the sleeves he ruffled his hair, considering brushing it, but then decided not to bother. It was always a mess of white strands anyway.

He crouched down to slip on his shoes and, after finishing tying them, stood. "Ready?"

Gon nodded with a smile. He walked back over to his bed. His eyes wandered around the space of his bed until he spotted his backpack. In it he dug out his green jacket and shoes. He put the clothes on and turned towards Killua. "Ready!" he began walking towards the door and opened it.

Killua followed behind him and, after stepping out of the room, closed it behind them. He tapped his pockets to make sure he still had the room key--which he thankfully did--and then headed over to the elevator. After pressing the button he waited. In a few seconds the elevator doors dinged and then opened. He stepped inside, pressed the button for the bottom floor, and then leaned back against the wall.

Reaching into his other pocket, he pulled out a small chocolate that he had grabbed before leaving their room. He removed the wrapper and then popped it into his mouth. He let out a contented breath through his nose as he chewed and swallowed the delicious treat.

"Now that's how you start a morning." Killua stated, licking his lips.

Gon allowed Killua ahead used to him leading the way. He entered the elevator and stood there rocking on his feet whistling. Gon was lost in nothing really just feeling hyped for some adventure.

His concentration faltered when he heard the crinkling of something. Gon's head turned towards Killua's direction. His eyes landed on the chocolate bar that Killua held. Gon smiled when he heard Killua's comment.

"So what do you think the Nen Slayer is like?" Gon asked curious about this feared slayer.

Killua crumpled up the now empty wrapper in his hand and stuffed it in his pocket. "Well, he must be a pretty sneaky guy if he's managed to stay low this long. He's gotta be confident too since he's going after Hunters."

The elevator paused on the third floor to open for another passenger. The doors opened to reveal a bellboy pushing a rather full cart of luggage. Killua had to step back and practically into Gon to allow the man inside the suddenly cramped space.

"Sorry boys. I'll be out in a second." He muttered, although he seemed more concerned on checking the suitcases' safety than anything as the elevator closed once again.

Gon nodded in agreement. For some odd reason his thoughts of the Nen Slayer shifted to Hisoka, similarities being compared. Lost in thought, he didn't realized when the elevator opened for another person until Killua was basically stepping on his feet.

Gon tried to provide them as much room as he could. He wasn't as mad as so much curious. Stretching up on his tippytoes Gon tried to peer over Killua's head to see what the bellboy was doing.

Killua remained quiet for the rest of the ride, not wanting to continue their conversation with the bellboy right there. When the elevator finally opened again onto the bottom floor the man quickly pushed his cargo out and left. Killua sighed in relief as he left the elevator as well. "They really need to make those things bigger." He muttered as he stepped out.

"The computers are over here." He pointed out. Off to the side of the lobby there was a connected room containing several computer monitors. At the moment it was empty, so it was a good time to go.

Gon followed along. His eyes wandered around the computer room. He then stuck his hand inside a pocket on his shorts and dug around for his Hunter's License.

Gon selected a computer at the far end of the room, hoping not to get prying eyes. He sat down in the chair hoping to not disturb the peace until the chair squeaked as he scooted forward. He huffed a laugh then picked up his chair and placed it down closer to the desk. His hand grabbed the mouse and he directed it to the Internet. Wanting to access the actual Hunter site, he swiped his card into the machine right next to the computer that allowed him access to the website.

Gon then typed in the search box,
'Nen Slayer.'

Grabbing another chair, Killua set it down beside Gon's and sat down. He propped his elbow up onto the table and leaned on his hand as he watched. When the search results came up his eyes skimmed over them.

"Looks like there's not much more than what was in the letter." Killua noted ruefully, and then came up with an idea. "If we check the Hunters' database we might be able to at least see the recent deaths."

Gon nodded. He exited out of the site and then clicked onto the Hunter database. Once more he swiped the card. In the search box he entered, 'Nen Slayer.'

At first nothing outstanding popped out. Most results were of descriptions of the killer. But then an image popped up. Shivers ran down Gon's back but as well as excitement fired his eyes. The image showed of a silhouette barely showing features. The person seemed to be dress with a white clown collar, a top hat, in a suit, and had a clown mask over his face.

Killua straightened, crossing his arms as if to ward off a chill. "Ugh, he kind of reminds me of Hisoka." He commented. Another Hisoka was the absolute last thing they needed. He glanced over to Gon, who didn't seem to be as disturbed at the similarity as he was. Killua rolled his eyes but then gave a small smile. He knew from experience that it took quite a bit to scare Gon, an attribute that the former assassin wished he had himself.

Gon nodded in agreement. He scrolled down a bit more on the page where the picture lied. "It says...from what some witnesses have said...he is a Specialist Nen user," Gon read. He continued to scroll down the page hoping to find more information on him.

Soon after browsing through a few more links Gon came upon one page that had a list of all accounted Hunters that this Nen Slayer killed. For a quick glance, Gon made sure to see if Leorio and Kurapika were not on it. Then he scrolled back up to the page. "It starts with the first murder and ends with the latest murder," Gon observed.

When the list of victims popped up Killua felt a trickle of fear drip down his spine. He held his breath as he looked over the names, hoping that two in particular weren't there. After carefully looking at the list Leorio's and Kurapika's names were nowhere to be found. Relieved, he released the breath he had been holding.

The victims were all different with varying ranks, professions, abilities, and body types. Killua attempted to piece together the seemingly random assortment of killed Hunters, but he couldn't find any connections between them. "So it started around a month ago and the last murder was two days ago..." Killua mumbled.

Gon didn't hear Killua's comment. He was too focused on studying the victims. His eyebrows furrowed in thought. "Mmmm most of the early victims all came from the same town...Derzing town. But then it goes to someone else in a different city and the pattern falters. Then there seems to be another pattern with Hunters who are enhancers. But then the pattern stops...Killua. What do you feel is his motive?" Gon asked as he turned towards the assassin. His golden eyes held such dedication to trying to figure out this mystery.

"The victims are all so different..." He started, and then trailed off as he thought about it. Other than being Hunters he just couldn't find a connection. There had to be something he wasn't seeing, or information he was missing. Killua sighed, leaning back. "He's only targeting Hunters, so that's a start. Maybe he has some sort of grudge against Hunters? Or just Nen users in general? There's also the possibility that he has some sort of ability that relies on battling Hunters."

Gon turned his eyes back to the screen as if in hope he oversaw something. A disappointed frown masked his face. A slight grumble of disappointment stirred within him. Gon continued scrolling. He then pulled up a map that showed where all the crimes have been committed. "Killua look...perhaps this could help?" Gon asked. Gon zoomed in more on the map, giving Killua a hopeful look.

((Can I write on my character, maybe committing a murder the moment they are looking him up? I can make my character interact with yours.))

"Doesn't hurt to try." Killua responded. Placing his hand on his chin in thought, his eyes darted across the screen, taking in all of the crime scene locations. As expected, there was a small cluster around Derzing Town where the first murders had occurred. He followed the dots as they went from towns to cities to small villages. "...can you zoom in any closer here?" He asked, pointing to an area of the map.

((Sure, go ahead.))

Gon studied the map along with Killua. He could feel Killua thinking and Gon wanted to help too. He then heard Killua say something. "Hmm? Oh zoom in," Gon repeated. He zoomed in on the particular spot. Gon studied it more trying to see what Killua spotted.

"Dance...dance for me!"

A scream filled the air.

"Oh dear...seems I have yet broken another toy. Tsk Tsk." The man sauntered over to the corpse of a human. His head tilted to examine the body. Arms were bent into the geometric shapes of squares and the legs into triangles. Blood painted the man with fear and death. "Oh this one is one of the prettiest I have seen," he whispered. His arms spread apart and raised them up to the sun and he laughed. His aura cloaked him and covered him from unwanted eyes. He walked away from the body but not before he placed his signature on the body, a white rose that was soaked in his victim's blood.

Once he reached the safety of the shadows he took off the mask that covered his identity. A scar tattooed his left eye. "Margorie. Margorie. Did you see the beauty at which the man danced with?"

Killua squinted, trying to make out the small fuzzy dot on the screen. Normally he wouldn't have given it a second thought, but the oddness of something vaguely crimson stood out in the middle of an otherwise clear space of land. Unfortunately, the picture had been zoomed in so much that it was incredibly unclear. If he peered just close enough though, the spot almost looked like something red with four limbs...His eyes widened. "Gon! Does that look like a person to you?!"

"Why of course, dear Mayze." A smooth female voice responded. Margorie, clad in matching attire with her brother, stepped out from behind a wide tree. Readjusting her hat, her lips pulled into a pleased smirk. At first glance, one would think that the two were completely identical. The only differences between them lay in her slightly slimmer build and scar, which marred the skin over her right eye instead of left.

"He was indeed much more beautiful than the last." She agreed, but then her expression turned to one of thought. "However, I cannot help but be disappointed that no one has challenged our splendor enough to take on the both of us. Oh, how I very much wish that we could play together again."

Gon held his breath as Killua examined the zoomed in image. If anyone could figure out anything, it would be Killua. Hr glanced over to the white haired boy in hope of an answer. But instead Killua asked him to examine.

Gon turned back to the screen and looked at the location where Killua was pointing at. Being that it was pixelized, Gon was having a difficult time dicephering what it was. At one point his eyes were crossing and he slammed his head onto the desk, smoke coming out of his ears. "I-I can't Killua..." he weakly mumbled.

The wicked man dramatically placed a hand on his forehead and pulled it away, real tears being swept away by the motion. "My dear Margorie! Please forgive me! I have brought yet another flower painted red with blood. Blood that expresses love," he whispered.

In one sweeping movement, he stood beside the beautiful woman. His hand caressed her cheek while the other pulled her in close to him. "My dear sister. Oh how I couldn't bear the distance we stood. And to bring the man's misery to an end without your smiles, dreadful! I do hope we can play together dear sister," he drawled on and his face approached hers closer and closer as he continued speaking.

Once he was inches away from her face he released the hand caressing her cheek and moved it back to reach down for something. "Your flower, my love," he whispered as he pulled forward a rose similar to the one left with the body. "This time I made sure it had no thorns," he smiled.
