Futuristic ☠Extinction☠

Tasteless

Boink Bean
The sound of Tires screeching against damp pavement echoed through the vacant streets as a blacked out Camaro shifted from Park, into Drive and sped forward. The streets of the small neighborhood were quiet, and lifeless. Corpses laid on the side walk, some in the road. The black beast-like car made it's way down the street, before turning onto the highway heading towards Seattle.

Ethan gripped the steering wheel tightly, His dark eyes focused on the road as Prince sat in the passenger side. A soft whimper jolted Ethan from deep within his thoughts, back to reality. Prince stared at him, his chocolate brown eyes surprisingly comforting. Ethan reached over with one hand, gently massaging his cropped ear. "I know buddy, not much longer." Ethan spoke to Prince as if he were human, as if the massive white and grey speckled American Pit Bull Terrier understood what had happened to the world they once knew.. And perhaps he truly did.

With a heavy sigh Ethan pushed down on the black button with a soft blue glow, slowly rolling down Prince's window. In which the massive over-grown puppy shoved his large nose through the crack, breathing in the scent of pine, yet it wasn't just pine that filled the dog's lungs. Blood hung in the air like a shroud of death.

Alice'Springs car sputtered, and died outside one of the abandoned food markets. She cursee under herror breath, attempting to start the car yet it only sputtered and died again. She looked to Titus, who stared at her intently with his dark eyes. She grabbed her pistol from the center console, and slowly opened her door. She stepped out, Titus leaped out beside her. The chain around his throat jingled lightly, as he glanced around and began to sniff the ground. Alice threw the keys into the back of the car, and shut the car door. Carefully she approached the building, its door and windows boarded up. She gripped one of the loose boards and pried it off the building with a crack. She quickly wove herself into the building, Titus at her heels. She aimed her gun quickly, the building was quiet as she wove through the asiles carefully, looking for food, water, medicine, anything.

Ana was looking outside of her bedroom window, lying on the bed with only the top of her head showing outside the window. She was watching a pretty, young woman enter the supermarket next door. A dog was following her closely.

"Wish I had that dog," Ana thought wistfully.

The only protection Ana had was some pepper spray that her mom had once gotten for her. She swallowed the lump in her throat as she thought about her mom. Ana hoped she was still alive, but she knew the grocery stores were probably looted first. Her mother was a tiny, skinny woman. She didn't stand a chance.

This girl, though... she looked so strong, walking confidently with her pistol and dog, like she was prepared for anything. Ana wished she had the courage to go outside and get her attention, maybe get help, as she was about to run out of food, but she had no weapons other than a kitchen knife. As the girl entered the building, Ana wondered if she would come out again. She hoped so.

Alice proceeded through the building, before noticing a door. She quickly walked over to it, Titus glancing around every few minutes. Alice swung open the door and a blaring siren went off. Titus yelped in shock, when suddenly a zombie lurched forward, attacking Alice. She screamed in shocked, as the zombie pinned her, his bloody jaws snapping for her throat while she held him back. Titus growled and attacked the zombie, knocking it off Alice. She quickly grabbed her pistol, before shooting the zombie in the head. She shut the door and the siren stopped. Her ears we're ringing, and she stumbled slightly, heading for the opening she had made. She peered out, a large horde of zombies limped toward the building.

Ethan sped down the street, a horde of zombies limping and groaning. He smirked, and sped up more, the blacked out comaro rammed into the horde. Blood smeared over the windshield as the zombies we're killed instantly. Ethan skidded to a stop, and sighed. He swung open the car door, stepping out. Prince leaped out by Ethan's side. The pair walked to the front of the car, where half a zombie was crawling toward them, growling. Ethan rolled his eyes before shooting it in the head. Prince sniffed around, before approaching the building.

Ana knew she had to help. Wouldn't she want someone to do the same for her? She shoved some granola bars and water bottles into a backpack, grabbed the biggest kitchen knife she could find, and cautiously stepped out side. She skirted around the zombies until she found the back door, managing to avoid detection. The woman was looking out the way she had came in when she saw Ana.

"Come on," she said quickly, "They aren't fast. I know a place we can hide."

Alice jumped when Ana spoke, shocked she stared at her. Then nodded silent, Titus and Alice stood behind Ana. Titus sniffed toward her, cautious of new humans, who may be possibly infected.

Ana knew of an underground shelter in the neighborhood. It had been built in case Mt. St. Helen became active again. As soon as Ashley nodded, Ana took off in the direction of the shelter. It was in one of her neighbor's houses. The horde was following close behind them, so Ana just opened the door, surprised that it was unlocked. Standing in front of them was a former Ms. Hanson, a woman who had babysat Ana when she was a little girl. Ana froze. She knew this woman. How could she kill her?
