A little thing called an ISRP?


First of all I'm not completely sure of the acronym but I tHink it's Interactive singular Role Play. It's a little thing that an old forum I came from did.


It's basically a 1x1. But the part that gets me is typically multiple characters are accepted like a group RP. But here's the difference. Everyone gets their own thread. Specifically for them. Each character kind of runs through the same story line. Usually the GM plays the role the environment and NPCs, making it like a choose your own adventure type thing.

I suppose depending on the actuall content but a few I've seen gravitated around controlling a kingdom, or evolving a species.

You'd run one in... hm, Prose & Poetry or General Discussion, methinks, but we'd want a mod call on that.


Might end up with too many tabs if you tried to run it through the usual channels.

It very well could, on the site it came from, which was actually pretty low on the RP> BS scale, I posted one and had 15 threads O.o


It was crazy hard to manage and I dropped it. Lol

From a site mechanics perspective, this would be roleplaying, so it should be a roleplay, not in the prose area. Otherwise whatever forum you posted in would likely get flooded.


You could request multiple IC RP threads on one roleplay, although the titles of the tabs would be repeated. (We only have "In Character RP", "IC RP 2" and "IC RP 3" tab labels). As Grey pointed out, the tabs might be a little confusing, but they would all be in one place. And each person would follow their specific thread.


You could also set each player up with a separate 1x1 RP and point everyone to one overview via hyperlinks - and include hyperlinks to the individual 1x1s in the overview.

I think I could deal with multiple IC tabs being repeated. Everyone would only watch their own so the tab titles wouldn't matter.


I'd hate to do the 1x1 route, because as I said, on a site that lacked actual RPing activity I would get fifteen threads, I doubt I'd get that many here but it's a possibility and I'd hate to flood the 1x1 forum.


Multiple tabs seems the best route. I might do one of these soon now that I've cleared up how to go about it.

One last nuance/tip: although the titles on the tabs themselves must be one of those three labels, you can edit the title of the threads to whatever you like. So - after we've linked the tabs to your RP, please - you could change the title of the thread to reflect the character in play. It might help users get oriented if they're clicking though the duplicated tab labels.
