In this Section, we will describe in greater detail how to create Personal Artes for your character to use in combat. Artes, of course, are the supernatural abilities characters use in battle. As seen in the Character Sheet, the form for making an Arte is as follows:

The arte Level's for standard character artes are from 1 being the lowest to 5 being the highest.
During Combat in the IC, when a players character uses a certain level arte, it signals to other members concerned that in order to prevent the arte from gaining a HIT on your character, an equal or greater arte must be used to counter it.
The level of the arte will also indicate at what strength one will have to use another arte in order to counter.
E.G. : Player 1 uses a level 3 arte targeted at player 2.
Player 2 must use an arte level 3 or greater.
So using a level 4 or 5 would do the trick.
However using Three level 1's or Two level 2 artes would also have the same effect.
In addtion, if the arte used as a counter is much greater e.g.:
Player 2 counters with a level 5 arte.
In this case Player 2's arte would still have enough strength to continue towards Player 1 if it's an ATK arte.
Naming your arte is pretty self-explanatory. It will also help in identifying the Arte when you use it in IC as Artes will need to be recorded at the bottom of your post.
Type:
Choosing the type of arte will help determine what the arte will do in the IC as well as set a basis for your Description.
The Character's Class will also determine what Types they are allowed to use. These are the following types:
Attack ( ATK ) : Attack type Artes target NPC's or other players for attacking.
Damage: Damage calculation for a direct HIT is 3X the Arte lvl. e.g. : Arte lvl 3 = -9 HP
Effect: Most ATK artes have no secondary effects. Some may be allowed.
Duration: Does not go beyond initial post.
How to Stop:
ATK artes: A clash of equal level ATK artes will cause each user -1HP automatically. The effect cannot be negated by other artes.
DEF artes: A DEF arte an appropriate lvl will help completely block the ATK arte.
DICE : DEFSE and EVASE used properly
Defense ( DEF ) : Defensive type Artes usually target the user and others to defend against ATK artes aimed toward them.
Damage: DEF artes do no Damage by themselves
Effect: DEF artes are capable of blocking ATK artes 1 lvl Higher than themselves, except for lvl 5 ATK artes. However if there is a secondary effect, this is Negated.
Duration: Does not go beyond initial post.
How to Stop:
In Response: Because DEF artes are used in response, the best way to counter is to prevent further use using specific SEAL artes or PNM.
Initial: If the barrier is already up before attacks, then use stronger ATK artes.
Enhancement ( EHM ) : Enhancement type Artes always target the user and normally increases character stats, dice and support techs.
Damage: No HP damage
Effect: N/A
Duration: Duration is dependent on the Level
How to Stop: SEAL or PNM artes that specifically target EHM
Sealing ( SEAL ) : Sealing type Artes target others and normally prevent actions specifically regarding Artes.
Damage: Varies
Effect: Prevent the usage of Arte Types, Specific Elements, Spirit Energy,
Duration: Duration is dependent on the Level
How to Stop:
To Prevent: SEAL or PNM artes that specifically target SEAL, or SPT that prevents Specific seals.
To Remedy: HEAL or SPT artes that have this effect
Support ( SPT ) : Support type Artes are exactly like EHM except they always target others.
Damage: No HP damage
Effect: N/A
Duration: Duration is dependent on the Level
How to Stop/Prevent: SEAL or PNM artes that specifically target SPT
Phenomenon ( PNM ) : Phenomenon type Artes afflicts targets with status effects.
Damage: Varies

How to Stop: SEAL or HEAL artes
Healing ( HEAL ) : Healing Artes cure, purifies, unseals and heals wounds.
Damage: No HP damage
Effect: Higher level HEAL artes can have more than 1 effect.
Duration: Initial Post, unless specified otherwise.
How to Stop: SEAL or PNM artes that specifically target HEAL
Field ( FLD ) : There are 2 possibilities when building a Field type arte.
1. Target Increase ( TiFLD )
Damage: Dependent on the Arte
Effect: Creating a Target Increase Field Arte ( TiFLD ) allows you to choose 1 arte in your personal list and remove targeting restrictions. You will need the appropriate SE to apply the effect to as many targets as possible however the CCA requirements will only apply to the Field Arte Level itself. The Arte you choose to apply the Field effect to must be equal or lower than the Field arte level itself.
Duration: Dependent on the Arte
Cost: The Activation Cost no matter what the level of the TiFLD arte will be 15. Rank Succession will not apply to TiFLD artes.
2. Elemental and Type Advantage ( ETAFLD )
Damage: None
Effect: Applying the Field arte will give either an advantage or disadvantage regarding the use of different elements of different Types. This usually means SE is more proficient for the element of type.
Duration: Unlimited
How to Stop: Another Field Arte of Equal or Greater level.
The Description serves as flavor text mostly. However it will allow other characters to make a visual acknowledgment and or react accordingly. Knowing the Level, Name Type and Element are all key components to a well written description.
Artes use Spirit Energy ( SE ) and are manifested through the 10 Elements.
When creating your character, choosing their class will determine which elements are in their affinity.
Character Class' have predetermined Affinities.
The Custom Class allows players to choose their affinities.
Elements do not have advantages over another.
Elemental affinities are to determine the behavior of Artes in gameplay and flavor text for the most part.
The 10 Elements are : Light / Darkness / Fire / Wood / Earth / Water / Lightning / Wind / Steel / Ice
Personal Artes cannot be used with no elemental affinity.
Personal Artes cannot have more than 1 elemental affinity to it.
The Price of the Arte represents the amount of Token Points (TP) that is required to unlock your personal arte and enable its use in the IC. Token Points are an OOC aspect of the RP that serves as a rewards program. TP is generally collected at the end of each IRL month. Players are awarded for General participation and activity although some IC events or personal favors from the GM may also yield an increase in TP generation.
You will notice that your arte Price is already set within the form of the character sheet. The values are not to be modified and represent the general price for all players.
The Cost of the Arte represents the Amount of Spirit Energy ( SE) that is required in-game to use your personal arte. Spirit Energy is a term that is valid in its use both in IC and OOC.

Poison: Decreases HP by 2 every turn until only 2HP remains or until healed or limit is reached
Duration: Dependent on Level
Application: Immediate unless specifically strengthened with SPT effects.
Paralysis: Target and Prevent use of : Strength/Speed/Endurance/Jump/Range/Targeting

Petrify: Target and Prevent use of : DICE elements
Duration: Dependent on Level

Weak: Prevent the Recovery of SE or HP

Burn: Target has HP decrease by sequence of 1,2,3 etc. until only 2HP or until healed.
