overview.
Located on the famous Sunset Boulevard, Hotel Beauly opened in 1923. Not much is known about its origins today. Of course there are administrative records, archived by the city, however those paper trails seem to go nowhere. The hotel just seemed to show up one day, open for business. From the start, it was a success. Celebrities and the wealthy flocked to it, both for short and extended stays, taking advantage of the amenities and the location. Parties, ceremonies, weddings, and other exclusive events were held at the hotel, which still continues to this day.
While it boasts 13 floors, due to superstition, the 13th floor is very rarely booked. In fact, it is expressly forbidden, it was an error in the building plans. However, there are always exceptions to the rule. Maybe the hotel is full and a room had been double booked. Not wanting to lose the business, the double booked guest is moved to the 13th floor. Maybe the new staff member accidentally assigned someone to the floor. Maybe there was a promotion where the hotel would lose profits if they booked out a room on one of the other 12 floors. Maybe they were even a staff member that needed a place to stay. It doesn’t matter. It happens on occasion.
It doesn’t seem like a big deal.
Except for the fact that the guests that stay on Floor 13 never seem to leave. Not that anyone notices, including the guests. Instead, they go on living their life as time stopped. Because, for them, it had. Leaving the grounds of the hotel becomes impossible. However, for these guests, they don’t notice, nor do they care. They go on with their routines, unaware that the world is changing, moving on around them.
Even the hotel staff has no idea this is happening.
Along comes the Newcomer. Like the others, they didn’t seem to notice at first. However, once a few months seem to pass, something seems to bother them. They can’t quite seem to put their finger on it, but in their gut they know something is very, very wrong. Why can’t anyone else see it?

This is kind of a revamp of a plot I attempted a few months back, with a few changes.
In summary, Hotel Beauly is a place where, for guests on the 13th floor, nobody ages and nothing changes. However, once someone stays on the 13th floor, they cannot leave the boundaries of the hotel property, though they don’t seem to want to. The RP will focus on the group of people staying there, coming from all sorts of decades. Some may have intended to stay for a night and some may have wanted to stay for an undetermined amount of time. Either way, nobody has left. Nobody seems to realize just how much time outside has passed. People have been here for decades without noticing. That is, until the most recent newcomer arrived. At first, they were like the others, but over the course of several months, they’re beginning to grow concerned. At first, they’re not sure what they’re concerned about, but they know it has to do with the hotel. Will the other residents wake up from the trance that Beauly had placed on them, realizing they’ve been gone far longer than they have ever intended to be? Would they want out? Or are they happy to stay in their safe bubble, outside of time but also outside of society?

They have all gone to stay at Hotel Beauly for various reasons. Some were only intending to stay for a short time and some intended to stay for longer. All have been stuck. They may have had moments of concern, but overall are not aware that something is wrong. They can come from any time period from 1923-early 2023. Now that the Newcomer is concerned, they may be getting suspicious. Do they want to escape? Or do they want to stay where things are comfortable?
