Hosted projects?

So I've been on this site for about 2 days now and I've mostly stuck to 1x1s (just because that's my personal preference) but I'm intrigued by the group roleplays. However, I can't quite figure out what the difference between a group roleplay and a hosted roleplay is? There is a post requirement to join a hosted roleplay? I've looked at the section and I just don't understand? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

From my understanding, there's no post requirement as far as joining a hosted project goes. You only need to have a certain amount of posts to make one.


They basically allow for a greater amount of flexibility. You get to have everything under one roof, instead of a bunch of threads that you'd have to link to in the case of a normal group project, and you can also do all sorts of fancy layout and background things there too, if you so desire.


It's kind of like having a private little forum board for your specific roleplay, instead of having to have individual threads in a larger forum.

Hosted Projects only have a requirement to create one.  Now, that being said there are probably some requirements put into place by the creator of the Hosted Project, so always be sure to read any rules put into place before joining a HP.
