They are roleplay that are organized in a different way and include extra features for the GM to use for the sake of organization.

They're basically rp forums, but more organized. Instead of going to one thread that's under the whole topic of Character Sheets for Realistic/Modern, a hosted project is all of the threads needed for your rp grouped into one whole topic just for your rp. There's a whole invite system so that only people who are in the hosted project/rp can join.

There's one con, you have to have 200 or 250 posts I believe to make one. You can join one though.

is it possible to get a project without the high post requirement?

say, if enough people wish it to happen, and put it to a vote or something, then it is let through?

I don't think so. I think that the rule is in place to keep people from posting spam. Like, people who join just to make a hosted project and spam the site. Because if you're dedicated enough, then you'll stick around and get the post requirements to make a project and that probably means that you're not just there to spam. At least, that's how it was explained to me.

No, I do not believe this is an available option.  The post requirements are to ensure that the amount of Hosted Projects created is properly monitored.  Hosted Projects take up a significant amount of space on the site's server.  If Hosted Projects were freely created, the site would likely catch lagging issues and other technical issues.  Hopefully, everyone on the site will be able to create Hosted Projects, without a post requirement, but for now, just keep roleplaying!  It's the quickest way to gain posts on the site.
