Answered hosted projects: How do i make one, or am i even able to?

Hosted Projects Questions
What are Hosted Projects?
Hosted Projects are roleplays that need large amounts of resources - in the form of their own subforum - to help organize roleplay information.

Where can I find more information about Hosted Projects?
You can go to the Hosted Projects information section.

How do I get a Hosted Project?
You must first meet the requirements to apply for a HP. Once you achieve this, you can submit an application.

What are the requirements?
  • At least 250+ account posts.
  • You must be the GM/Owner of the RP to apply.
  • The RP has already been created using the normal site resources.
  • Provide detailed information behind why you believe your roleplay deserves to be a Hosted Project.

Is there an application form I need to fill out?
There is no set standard form. Hosted Project applications are a discussion between the GM and the staff to determine if the roleplay truly needs the resources offered by the HP system.

I don't know where to start regarding my HP application. What information should I provide?
While there is no set form for your application, there are things that help the staff during their review. This information is taken directly from the HP information section:

"Let us know in as much detail as possible exactly what kind of RP you want to do, why you need hosted project status, and why you can’t do this via the normal system on the site. This is very much you trying to sell the administration and the site owner on your idea; therefore, we will not actually have a set of questions to fill out ."

I'm not the GM of the RP, but the Co-GM, can I still apply on behalf of the GM?
Only the GM of the RP should apply. This is because of Roleplay Creator rights as well as avoiding possible future internal conflicts over who has possession over the HP.

I have applied, but it is taking so long for me to get a reply! Is there a way to speed this up?
Applications take time to review. Combine the time it takes to review the information and an already busy site staff and things may take a while.

If I already have a large RP going on, and I apply for an HP that is approved, can my content be moved into the HP?
Yes. If you are approved and are granted a Hosted Project, the staff can move your content into your HP. However, they will not organize it for you.

Once you are the owner of an HP, you will have the ability to move threads within your HP to where they belong.

If I used to have a Hosted Project from the IPS era, can it be restored?
Many of the HPs during the IPS era actually didn't need the resources. You can always request to have the content restored from the archive in Staff Contact, but if you want to have it as a Hosted Project, you need to apply for it.

If I used to have an HP, but it became inactive and/or lost its HP status, can I have it restored as an HP?
If your Hosted Project has been inactive or had its HP status revoked, you will need to apply to have it as a Hosted Project again. Previously having a Hosted Project does not mean automatic approval when you apply or request to have your project restored.

I'm confused on the functions and features of my Hosted Project, where can I get information?
You can read this quick guide to get started.
