Hosted Project Questions

How do I edit the items in my Hosted Project's Roleplay Menu, so it has options besides "Roleplay Homepage"? I've seen another HP with links to the OOC and RP areas.


Also, a HP I created died a while back, and I wound up Hiding it, thinking this was the way to delete it. Unfortunately, it's still in my Hosted Project Memberships, with a red background. Is there some way I can delete it entirely?

To create your own link for the menu, select 'Edit Collab Menu' from the 'Roleplay Management' drop down.

There is no way for you to permanently delete any content on RpNation.  But, because the HP is hidden, no one else will be able to view it.  Deleting an HP will not remove you from being a member.  To do so, you can manage all of your memberships from the drop down menu under your avatar.

I'm having trouble with HP permissions.


I created a membership role called Moderator and then edited the permission for a forum to only allow a Moderator to post a message there. Then, I tried to post there myself, but it wouldn't allow me to, even though my role as Creator should outrank a Moderator.


Am I doing something wrong?

It should, but actually created roles sometimes take precedence over default ones (like creator). Try setting yourself as a Moderator, or try creating a GM role that has all permissions (make sure to change Forum permissions as well) and see if that helps. If you're having trouble with that, put a link here and one of the Staff can check your settings.

Wait why is it impossible to delete something? I feel like that's just a waste of memory, I know it's impossible to delete something 100% without having to move t but still

Threads on the site do not take up significant memory if any at all.  While the Hosted Projects do take up more space, they're incredibly recyclable, which brings no reason to completely remove them.

How do I create topics in a subforum that I just created? I can't find the "Start New Topic" button there like for the other subforums that were automatically included (RP Area, Characters). Here's an image.

Is there a limit to the amount of threads you can make on an HP? It looks like I can't make more than 5.

Yes, users are allowed to have up to 5 forums, however, if you would like more, you can create a support ticket.

There shouldn't be any limit to the amount of threads (topics) you can make, though.

Not sure if this question really belongs in this thread, but I'll post it here anyway.


What do I say in the 'join roleplay' thing on a hosted project? Is that where I post a character, or where I say how much I can play/how experienced I am?

It's basically a request to join, so you could talk about yourself in that little box, but I'd suggest sending the GM a conversation (PM) instead, particularly if you want to submit a character for approval.
