Hosted Project Question

So I put in a request a while ago for a Hosted Project and got denied because my roleplays have a habit of dying off, which I don't disagree with and see as completely understandable. But I was just curious as to what sort of track record the staff is looking for when it comes to Hosted Projects? I would like to be able to have one in the future and it's easier to aim for maintain a roleplay for X amount of days/weeks/months (or a rough estimate) instead of have roleplays for longer.

The hosted projects are a part of the site that costs a lot of resources.

Essentially, you're making your own forum, which is why the staff is really selective about what they're willing to host.

As for how long a role play should last, I'm thinking months, if not more, and beyond the role play staying alive, you have to show that you really are going to put effort into KEEPING it alive.

Just look at the Fairy Tale hosted project.

That role play started back when forum role plays were introduced some time last year, and heck, maybe it's even been around longer.

I haven't been keeping tabs on the pace of the role play by any means, but I know a few people personally that have been there for a long time, so I'm assuming it's still kicking and active AND the GM is still advertising.

So if the site is going to use resources to grant someone a hosted project, it should be worth it in the long-run and really last quite a while.

Days/weeks of activity just doesn't cut it, and I don't think just a couple of months would work either.

Does that make sense?

Further to that, look at Hosted Projects like Robotech: Tales of the REF and Amaranth which have been running for years. However, it not just longevity of a game that we look at, it is the RP creator's drive. Games die and that's a thing, but one thing we look at is the creator's efforts at keeping it going, prodding players to post, moving the storyline on, recruiting new players to replace those who drop out or don't post, promoting their game via the Interest Checks forum and so on. What we want to see, alongside a game with some track record is the concerted effort of the creator to maintain the game. A good example of this is Robotech: Tales of the REF. This game in it's three or so years of play has seen many, many players come and go, but the ST has always been advertising for new players when the players he has have dwindled.
