So, I'm new to digital art. Criticisms are welcome. Hopefully it won't bee too bad. ^.^ (And I probably won't be the best at keeping up with posting new stuff.)

I've finally decided to finally start my comic... So far I have one of the characters drawn... And this isn't even the first panel.... But, who likes starting at the beginning anyways!

U MADE AN ART THREAD YASS!!

hi i'm your local neighborhood weeb v. pleased to meet u

i relate to not starting at the beginning ive considered making a game/comic but hey let me just do 700 things related 2 but not actually starting it !!

I like how you draw hair (though maybe it's because I relate to drawing individual strands), it seems very precise and with your style, it defines the hair really nicely!! You also have a good sense when it comes to body shape, especially with the neck and the ears (the way you detailed them are really nice to look at!) Your usage of what type of pen you use was also v. clever, and I'm totally looking forward to your comic!

You could possibly use a few references for the face. Now there's nothing wrong with it, the eyes (eyelids+eyebrows included) are rather clean, and the nose fits with the rest of the face. Though they seem to be a little high on his face, and the placement of the eyes, nose, and mouth all seem to be a little wacky - but it's not like you're so off that it's unbearable. Like legit if you don't change it it's still 100% okay, since I might just be me being nitpicky and calling the tea kettle black.

You should try and shade the shirt like the headband- start with dark base colour and use somewhat harder shading for the shadows instead of airbrush (unless that's what you're going for clothing wise, you can call me  out!). The texture of the shirt with the headband (both being articles of clothing here) contrast very oddly.

How long have you been drawing? This is hella good- what r u talkin' about saying that you weren't confident enough! This is really good stuff my guy and I wish you luck with your aspiring comics!!

@Entarriance Thank you! And I've only been drawing digitally about a month or so. But drawing in general... It's been awhile! As for the face placement... I know I kept moving it around because it didn't look right no matter how I put it... I really appreciate the feedback though!

Please tell me more about your character!! =DD What's his name? What's his personality like?

interesting. Judging by the shape of the eyes and face, looks like you're going for a semi-realistic look.

This might be just me, but Quarkie always find drawing full-front faces hard (it's hard to get things symmetrical for me ^_^;), but your front face looks pretty good. And it looks so neat as well.

And I agree with Entarriance-chan that the hair looks so good. I like detailed stuff in general xDD, but it's always nice to see layered spiky hair.

Indeed references might be very useful. ^_^. I generally learn new ways to colour things or draw things from other people's art, and then add in/tweak things to fit my liking.

Drawing for a month!! 0_0 That is amazing. Especially the creases and the detail in the hair.

@Quark Well, digital drawing. I've been traditional drawing for a few years. And, to be honest, I'm still developing this character more - mainly cuz I'm not sure which comic I wanna go with though!

I don't draw at ALL, so I have nothing real to say, I just like looking at what people can draw. This really good though. I will never be able to draw worth a shit lmao.

In my animation class I'm working in a group and we're creating a character. I drew a piece of concept art for him. I'm kind of a little proud of the finished product so I shall post it here.

Although his cane is a little short (I thought I fixed that)

It's been awhile since I've draw traditional art, but I have to fill a sketchbook for a class. This Ronan, I'm using him for a roleplay me and my friends started. If you'd like I would love to talk all about him. He's one of my precious children and I love him ^.^

P.S. I know the placement of the head in regards to the neck is really whacky - like I said it's been quite awhile since I've drawn traditional art!
