Elision of Ecritures
The Demon Librarian
Welcome One And All to My Homestuck; Sburb Omega Roleplay!
To put into simple terms and as a Basic Overview, this Roleplay is a fun, creative and very accepting forum dedicated to Roleplaying only Ocs or Other Characters which by definition means taht we will be ignoring Cannon Characters as well as trying to be as Orignal with already preexisting lore and mechanics from the Homestuck Franchise.
While it will Already be further Explored upon of How this Forum works, you should understand right here and now that your ideas can mean absolutely EVERYTHING to the development of your characters and even to the overarching plot that we wish to create here. All Ideas can be discussed and supplied in the Out of Character chat. Additionally, please keep in mind that this is a very LITERATE and DETAILED forum that will even go by certain regulations for posting size and additionally, while unfortunate as this may be for some, this forum does not have a limit on how many are allowed to be members of the forum.
This new aspect of the forum allows for any number of people to join. However, as a staple rule of the forum, posts must be significantly large or up to forum standards in addition to how one can join.
You can truly join at any time, joining a to be made/new session being inherently more simpler than making one. If there is such a opportunity, feel free to join and add to the group with your own character and ideas.
However if there are no slots available for any existing session, you have the option to create a new session with as many members allowable, but to create a session, you will need of course at least one another character of a different person than yourself, you may only have one character per session.

Here are some Rules and Guidelines to This Forum! You don't actually need to accept them!
-Rules and Guidelines-
*****
1.) Rule of Role-Play:
At any time it is unacceptable to control another person's (role-player's) character without that persons consent. This is where Godmodding comes into question. Some are unsure of what exactly is considered "Godmodding". Godmodding is when a role-player indirectly manipulates another role-player's character in the interest of their own writing sometimes deliberately or in most cases inadvertently. Examples include:
[incorrect] Lily punched Sara in the face, sending her flying back into the wall.
-In this particular instance, Lily being the writer's character and Sara being the character of another role-player. The writer took it upon themselves to decide Sara's fate without permission from the other writer making it an illegal post. The following is an example of the correct way to write the above post.
[Correct] Lily moved forward her fist swinging through the air as she prepared to punch Sara in the face. The force would have been enough to send Sara flying back into the wall though Lily could only hope that her attack would land.
-This role-player who control's Sara has the option to decide what happens to her character. Specifically the role-player can decide if maybe Sara had the reflex's needed to dodge the attack or if maybe the attack grazed her.
Godmodding can also be achieved by merely making the character completely undefeatable or allowing them to achieve unnatural feats outside the established boundaries of the role-play.
The "Rule of Role-Play" also addresses the 'one liner' issue. 'One liners' are seriously frowned upon within forum social hierarchy, not only do they show a level of disrespect to the forum as a whole, they reflect on the writers potential as a possible role-playing partner. Often this results in a lack of participation in the progressing role-play for the role-player in question primarily because other role-players will search out more reliable role-players with more creative, thoughtful depth to their posts. Because of these issues 'one liners' have been banned from the role-plays. If an admin or moderator sees continued violation of this rule the following punishments can be applied.
The admin or moderator can ask the person in question to increase the length of their post.
- The admin or moderator reserves the right to delete posts they feel are in deliberate violation of the "Law of Role-Play."
- The admin or moderator may directly address the issue either privately or publicly.
- The moderator can execute a warning and if there is continued violation of the rule they reserve the right to ban the person in question for a maximum of one day, any longer they must have consent from the admin of the forum.
The minimum posting length requirement is two paragraphs; which is subject to change. This isn't to be mistaken for sentences either. However keep in mind that this is the "Minimum" posting requirement and it is highly recommended to make your posts longer than this. Every other post is required to have at least three full lines, though occasional slip-ups won't be subjected.
Another thing to keep in mind is the content of your writing. Always remember to keep your writing within the rating of the forum as a whole. Meaning overly explicit sexual situations or graphic violence is unacceptable in the forum at any time. Always do your best to keep the content of your writing at a T-Rating. Moderators reserve the right to delete posts they feel disregard this rule.
2.) Rule of Civility:
This rule states that all members are considered equal with the exception of admin and moderators who are expected to be treated with the utmost of respect from other members of the forum. This rule also raises the issue of harassment which can be achieved simply by bothering someone to post, being disrespectful or using adverse language in a haughty manner which is all intolerable. It is unacceptable at any time to harass another member of the forum for any reason for instance bothering someone to post; creativity isn't something that can be forced nor is inspiration. It is fine to ask someone for a post but it becomes a problem when it develops into constant hassling. Moderators reserve the right to ban those who disregard this rule for a period of one day, any longer would need approval from the admin of the forum.
The "Rule of Civility" Is rather simple to follow, treat your fellow role-players with respect. It is fine to have opposing opinions but never is it ok to attack someone because of their opinions. Role-Play can often lead to arguments within forum chat-rooms or similar places, if a moderator catches this behavior they reserve the right to delete the subjected posts as well as implement punishments ranging from public or private warnings, suspension of privileges or even banning.
The "Rule of Civility" Also requires members to read through the role-play as it progresses and keep up with ongoing plot devices. It's a form of courtesy to other role-players to at least read over what is going on. Though at times this rule can be disregarded if your character has absolutely no connection to another role-players and you feel won't for a good while. However if this pre-judgment is made then don't expect others to update you with things you otherwise chose to ignore.
Trolls are also addressed here. Trolls are highly frowned upon within forum social hierarchy as well as the internet itself. We know who you are and mods reserve the right to perm-ban a troll on sight. So if you're here to troll then you might as well find somewhere else because you will be slapped with a perm-ban before you can even say "Trollol!"
Mutiny is another thing that will not be tolerated within the forum as a whole. If a mod or admin feels a mutiny is being formed they reserve the right to ban the members in question for an undetermined amount of time. Also, problems within the forum should never be leaked outside the forum. Members who choose to start forum wars will be perma-banned without question. At any time it is unacceptable to bring a persisting argument/issue to another forum not in correlation with the forum the argument/issue is taking place in.
3.) Rule of Text:
Spelling, grammar and punctuation are important to the success of a role-play. It is required that all members use some form of spell-check or proof read their posts before posting. This rule can be slightly bent within form chat-rooms and other non-role-play related spaces. We all understand that nobody can be perfect with their writing, though it's expected that everyone put in effort when writing so they can always be at their best. Misspelling something is totally fine because it's never too late to edit your post.
4.) Rule of Guidance:
Characters must be approved by an admin or mod before they can be posted with in any role-plays related to the forum. Moderators reserve the right to delete posts from characters not yet approved. Unapproved characters will be marked as such until they are made acceptable by the creator and approved by an admin or mod where they will then be posted in some type of Character Index.
It's alright to give your characters picture references with a link; however it is required to create a written description as well. Also, keep in mind that not all characters will be approved right away. It's important to listen to an admin or moderator and take the advice given to improve a character that is otherwise unacceptable. Admin and moderators will not tolerate arguments when asked to change something, though it's completely fine to question a moderator as to why their character was unaccepted or why they have to change something, as long as it is done in accordance to the "Rule of Civility" with respect and courtesy for the admin or moderator for taking the time to critic your character. It's also never ok to badger a mod to read over your character this would be seen as a violation of the "Rule of Civility" as it is not only disrespectful, but its harassment. A character critic can take as long as a week to complete depending on how busy the forums are, so always assume that it will be more then a day before your character is critiqued.
It's required that all members read over the "Rules and Guidelines" thread as well as the "Important News and Updates" thread. Often there will be important information within these threads as well as many others that will be important for a role-player to know. Usually informational threads provide information about a role-play and its progressing plots so keep in mind some of these things.
The "Rule of Guidance" also requires that members accept the guidance or instructive criticism of admin and moderators alike and exhibit a form of respect for these members for taking the time to manage and organize the forum. Admin and moderators aren't here to attack you, or make fun of you or even condescend. They are here to guide you in the right direction when direction is lost; to contain and dissipate conflict within the forum's social hierarchy, to help each-and-every role-player of the forum progress in their writing capabilities and make the forum a peaceful, fun and happy place for all.
If a member of the forum feels a moderator isn't exhibiting these qualities then they have every right to take it up with the forum admin. However, remember that a strict moderator isn't a bad moderator. And never should a moderator be targeted for becoming vexed over a situation or appearing too strict or what some call "mean" or even "bitchy". Admin and moderator alike aren't perfect/holy beings; they have flaws as well, and can become irritated or get angry over something just as easily as the common role-player. So it may be easier to simply look at things from a different perspective and work things out reasonably rather than reporting to an admin about something trivial.
5.) Rule of Rules:
The rules are here for a reason and are subject to change over time. If you have read over the "Rules and Guidelines" thread then you will be held accountable to the rules if you don't then you will be held accountable for not reading them in the first place. At all times role-players are expected to know the above rules. So using the excuse that you didn't know the rules won't get you sympathy, only further the hole being dug. If you follow the rules then you won't have a problem fitting in. Rules are part of life and they are meant to keep order and balance within any thriving society. If you aren't ok with this then maybe this forum isn't for you. Rules aren't meant to be broken they are meant to be followed otherwise there would be no point to them.
6.) Three Strike Rule:
This rule can be applied to all the above rules. If an Admin or Mod feel that someone is becoming a constant problem either because they can't follow a rule or their attitude is just completely unacceptable. They reserve the right to give that someone a strike. Mod's are expected to inform those who have been given a strike as soon as possible. When a person reaches 3 strikes they will be permanently banned from the forum until further notice from the Admin. As stated early, this rule can be applied to any violation of any of the rules.
7.) OC Three Strike Rule:
This rule is something that all role players should be aware of. I've long grown tired of mod's having to repeat things over and over when asking someone to fix something about their OC. To prevent this, I've developed a new rule that states: Each OC has 3 shots at being approved, if a Mod asks you to change something on your characters sheet and then you come back saying your character has been fixed, though it still has the same mistake on it. Then the Mod reviewing it has the option to strike it. If an OC develops three strikes it is permanently unapproved. This rule doesn't apply if a Mod notices something new on the sheet that needs to be fixed and then asks you to fix it once, it only applies if the mod has to ask you more than once to fix a specifc thing on your OC sheet.
