Fandom Hogwarts: First years!

David put his wand away and continued to draw. "Well Ara you seem nice. Wana be friends? And before you ask yes I never actually had friends before so this is my way of being nice." He ripped out a piece of paper from his notebook and gave it to her. On the sheet was a sketch of a flower garden. "People like flowers right?"

"Woooow that's awesome!" Aralin said sincerely, referring to the drawing and not even really considering what David had said. "So let's be friends then!" Standing excitedly she placed the picture in the corner of the train's window so that the light shown through it. "It's like everything out there is a flower garden if you look at it this way." Aralin smiled and then looked down for a moment as her cheeks turned red from saying such a weird thing. She also realized for the first time that she was being rude. "Sorry, I tend to talk and act before I think." She sat back down soberly for a moment before looking up with another big grin. "Hope that doesn't cause any problems for you, friend!"

David chucked and said "Well being lively doesn't seem bad. Anyway have you heard anything about hogwarts? I heard there's houses for students like.... Gryphon claw or something like that. How do you think they sort us?"

Aralin rubbed her temples dramatically to show she was thinking then said "So there are four I know that. Their names are kinda based off of animals. So I remember Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. Ahh... I can never remember the fourth one!" She said. "I'm sure I will remember eventually."

(This is intended irony because she will be a Hufflepuff)

Elliott and her owl looked about, listening to all the hustle and bustle of the train, kids everywhere excitedly chattering. She sighed, as she gently scrubber the saw-whet owl's little head. A tall girl, like herself, walked past. Her hair was as white blond as her own, but her eyes were much more fierce and pale. Elliott wondered about following, seeing where she was going. Like herself, this new comer seemed to be just taking in the noise, the excitement.

Jeremiah could see his companion was not going to introduce herself, and so, he flit off her shoulder, a small toot as he did so, and fluttered down to sit next to the other white blond girl, doll-like face twisting this way and that as he examined the girl. On closer inspection, he wasn't sure this girl would get on with his owner, and was about to make an abortive flight back to Elliott when her hands wrapped around his chest with a hiss.

"Gotcha!" Elliott proclaimed, and the little owl gave a huff that seemed to honk a little at the end. His large gold-orange eyes half-lidded as he was put back onto the girl's shoulder. "You remember we spoke about this, Jeremiah? If you go flying off, you'll be told off, and will have to go in a cage!" At the mention of a cage, the owl stomped his feet and clapped his wings about, tooting more earnestly now. "Alright, alright!! Calm down you silly thing!!" Finally, Elliott turned to the girl Jeremiah had been staring at so intently and held out a hand. "Sorry about him. He's too nosy for his own good. Name's Boltset. Elliott Boltset. Nice to meet you. I'll go back to my seat if you prefer, I know this owl has caused a lot of trouble!"

@Kiowa Of course its okay))

Alex smiled appreciatively back at Josh, slightly ignoring Zack. He didn't know why, but this kid seemed off to him, but of course, he pushed it away. "Thanks, josh." He replied, his smile stretching a bit more as he turned his attention back towards Zack. "i'm about curious about the whole mask/wand thing... I've never seen anything like it before!" He commented, making a miserable attempt at sounding excited. Even his owl hooted in disapproval of his rather fake tone.

((Thanks!))

"Well, let's start with my mask. I wear this mask to hide my emotional insecurities from myself, keeping me a bit more positive. It's something like a coping strategy," Zack begins.

"Now here's a custom wand I made from a wooden stick," he says, pulling out a wand. "It isn't much, but hey! The wand's something!"

Sorry about the wand having no color, I'll add color soon

Josh gazed off at nothing, but since he was looking in Alex's direction, it seemed like a stare, though his eyes were glossed over. He didn't contribute anything to conversation, but could hear it around him. Was Alex smiling at him? Did he imagine that? The thought made hin snap back to reality, ripping his gaze away from Alex and pointing it to the floor.

Andromeda Malfoy

Andromeda had resorted to placing her head on the pane of the window as she watched the scenery, others voices become background noise as she looked outside. She jerked her head when the screech of an owl rose above the voice, causing her to hit her head. "Tch." Narrowing her eyes as she came in contact with the creature. What is an owl doing outside of its cage? She thought, just about to reach for it till another's hands went around the creature. Smirking at the quarrel between the two before it came to a stand still as the student obviously had the upper hand.

From the quarrel, she had determined the owl's name was indeed Jeremiah but the student never revealed their name. That was until the student introduced themselves. "Andromeda Malfoy... Isn't he supposed to be in a cage?" Andromeda took Elliot's hand and shook it slightly before she released it, furrowing her brows as she looked between the owl and it's owner. Elliot's appearance was similar to her own except unlike Andromeda Elliot was not curse with cold blue eyes.

Elliott gingerly sat on the edge of the seat, ready, should the girl decide, to race back to her own seat if she was told the girl didn't want company. When the girl shook her hand and introduced herself, Elliott's face broke into a large grin. She knew the name Malfoy, and been warned about them as being as pure blood as they came.

From the slight knowledge she had gleaned from her father, the Boltset's had once been similar to the Malfoys; only marrying other strong and powerful magic folk. However, the Boltsets had always been Ravenclaw, and knew to start developing acceptance between Magical and Muggle, you had to start integrating. Hence, the marriage between her own parents. That, and her mother, to Elliott's eyes, was the most beautiful woman ever!!

"Well... um, you see..." Elliott's hand raised to stroke at Jeremiah's head gently. "He doesn't like being in a cage. All you'd hear is his tooting and swearing, from platform to platform. He's usually very well behaved, I trained him myself!! But..." Elliott blushed a little, as she looked the girl over. "I think he wanted to meet you as we look quite similar. You're a Malfoy though! I know that name. You all look very pale, don't you! I'm a bit odd for my family; they aren't sure where this colour comes from, but I share mum's eyes!"

Elliott lifted a strand of white blond from her pony tail, then let it fall, an undignified honk like toot coming from the owl as it hit him between his large, doll eyes. He skipped about on Elliott's shoulder, but didn't go anywhere after being told off.

Andromeda looked up at Elliot, looking her over as she tried to get an idea of the girl. Listing to her ramble she kept the classic Malfoy face, an unemotional face, stone cold. Although her lips twitched at the mention of her family. Who does this girl think she is? Andromeda thought, biting her lip to stop he some saying something she would later regret. She pushed a strand of hair away from her eyes as she spoke. "Only on my father's side are we...eh... pale." She pursed her lips a said the word pale, although she knew it was true. The malfoy features were cold and unforgiving, which perhaps benefited most but for Andromeda it was a hassle to be anything but cold and unforgiving. She gave a side eye to the owl, never one for owls always preferring four-legged animals such as her beautiful ferret.

((I just made the longest post I've ever made, all because of adding thoughts into my post. Then my mind went WILD with ideas. Oh boy am I so HAPPY!))

Elliott wasn't an idiot, and could feel the distaste for her joining the girl on her bench. She stood hastily, and bowed her head to the girl. She smiled apologetically, and a slight blush spread across her cheeks. On her shoulder, the little owl tooted once more, disturbed by the sudden movement.

"I'm sorry! I realise you probably don't want to be disturbed! I'll get back to my stuff. Nice to meet you, Andromeda. Sorry Jeremiah and I were a nuisance!!" She bowed again and clasped her hands in front of her, another awkward smile passing over her features as she skittered away quickly. That girl had a very unforgiving face; every haughty expression that could be mustered on a pre-teen's face had occurred on that girl, and Elliott certainly wasn't one for hanging around when it was clear she wasn't really wanted. If the girl had sent the wrong signals, and had wanted to talk to her, she was only a few benches up the aisle, and she settled herself back down, picking up her still open book, and gently closing it, continuing to stroke its spine, and settle in back into her relatively small suitcase.

Looking around, a lot of these students had huge trunks and suitcases that were nearly as big as they were. What could they possibly need all that stuff for? Elliott's suitcase could fit all her books, her writing equipment and scrolls of parchment, and her other meagre belongings. It wasn't really magical; a slight charm, perhaps, to make the interior slightly larger, but Elliott didn't have much. One thing she did have was a muggle photo of her parents. Her father's strong features, like her own, grinning up from the picture. Her mother's Scandinavian beauty and wheat gold hair.

Elliott sighed, and stored her picture away. She pulled out a separate book, one of her own that was clearly well loved and read; its corners were dog-eared, the cover worn along its spine and hard edges. It was an encyclopaedia of magical and non-magical creatures. She flipped through to one of her favourite types of animal; the snakes. Jeremiah tooted, and stood on Elliott's shoulder, his large, orange-gold eyes watching Andromeda, from across the train.

David suddenly thought of something. "Hey Ara you think we're sorted by skill or something? Shoot what if there's a enterance exam or something... maybe we have to prove ourselves to even get in. Quick do you know anything about the witch world?" He flipped through his notebook to look for spells and facts about beasts.

Aralin smiled, happy she actually did know something of use this time "Actually my mom says there aren't any skill requirements to get in. If you got your letter then you belong at Hogwarts." Aralin pulled her wand out and held it gingerly between her hands again. She stared at it for a long moment. "I am just now starting to believe this all isn't some crazy dream. I guess it makes sense though in a way. There was an... incident. I accidentally broke my dad's golf trophy and I was so scared he would see and get upset I just kept thinking that I wanted to fix it 'fix it, fix it, fix it' and when I opened my eyes it wasn't broken any more. Maybe I would have thought I had imagined it but my brother was watching the whole time waiting for me to get in trouble. He saw it float up and fix itself and started screaming for mom the little brat!" Aralin rolled her eyes at her little brother and absent mindedly placed her wand behind her ear like she used to always do with her pencil in school. "Was there anything like that with you? Did you... make anything happen without meaning?"

David closed his notebook and said "Twice and both times with regret." Wanting to change the subject he quickly said "So what do you think we're going to be learning? I heard were going to learn how to change stuff to other things. Like a pin into a match or something like that. Oh and a wand behind your ear isn't the best idea."

Andromeda was caught off guard as the girl quickly stood and bowed. Listening to the girl, as she internally cursed herself. Of course, the girl was apologizing, she like many others fell victim to the unforgiving look of the Malfoys.  She thought to apologize for her actions although she knew it would do little, so she bit her lip to silence herself. Her eyes followed Elliot back to her seat, pursing her lips as she made eye contact with the owl that perched on the girl's shoulder. Apologizing would do much anyways, as soon as they were sorted their friendship wouldn't have lasted long anyways. Turning back around folding her hands in her lap as she sighed listening to the others in the cart. It was easy to tell those who were muggle born and those who were not by the questions they asked one another. Holding back a chuckle, jiggling her foot as she looked out the window. They should be arriving any minute. Severus had told her the ride would be long but she didn't know it be this long.

Joseph got out of the compartment he was in. He threw on his sea green, and blue hoodie, and grabbed his headphones. He put them in his ears, and started walking up the train. Joseph walked through the aisle looking for someone with paper towels. A kid spilled his drink all over Joseph's phone and he wanted to wipe it off. Joseph went to take another step when the train rattled, and he fell into a random compartment. "Uggh great my ride has only gotten worst." Joseph said with an California accent. He got to his knees and put one on the headphones back in his ear. Joseph looked around the compartment, and saw a girl with blonde hair, and green eyes. "Sorry but you wouldn't by any chance have paper towels would you??" Joseph asked flashing a smile, and looking the girl in the eyes.

Aralin flustered and pulled the wand out from behind her ear and put It securely away in her pocket. "Sorry, I used to do that with my pencil back in school. The teacher's didn't much like it either. Mostly because I would forget it was up there and ask for another pencil..." Aralin smiled apologetically and gave a sort of hopeless shrug. "I wasn't very good at muggle school. Mostly D's and C's. I did get a B+ in Science last year but I think that was just because I made an awesome exhibit at the science fair." Aralin realized she was rambling on and on and so she took a deep breath and said "So I hope that Hogwarts is nothing at all like muggle school! What about you?"

Andromeda Malfoy

Andromeda had retreated into her mind, the rumbling of the tracks putting her at ease. Although she should have known that would be cut short as she was jolted out of her thoughts, pushed back into reality. Looking over at the boy as she sighed, she did, in fact, have a handkerchief on her person. "Yes. Here." Reaching into her pocket as she went to pull it out, giving it to the boy. She looked back out of the window as she pursed her lips, every now and then she would look at the boy from the side of her eye before turning back.

David replied "I sorta hope it's like normal school. Not learning advance mathematics and such would suck because if we graduate we would only have magical knowledge. But they probably have classes for that. Honestly I'm more worried about the magic part of school"
