Hiya! How ya doin'? Names Xeris and I'm one of many newbies here on RpN. I promise you I'm not a bot. I'm just extremely friendly which can seem off putting to some people. What?! You mean there are nice and friendly people on the internet?! Well I hope so cause then I'd be really worried about what I'm goin' on about without others like me hahaha. Well its a pleasure to meet'cha and I hope we can be friends down the road. Fair warning right now I talk a lot and I have trouble footnoting so good luck!
I'm a go-with-the-flow kinda guy who happens to love cute things in and out of character. Which brings up the subject of what kind of characters I like to play. Well I already told you hahaha. I enjoy playing as characters who can take things easy and smile troubles away. The kinds of characters who act like the big brother or sister for other characters, or even the best friend who's always got your back. I've always been drawn to those kinds of characters so I like to play as them. I also like to portray the mischievous or playful-trickster character. The one who always seems to be playing a game with people even if they don't know the rules or likes to cause a little trouble every now and again. As you can already tell I enjoy playing as characters who can put a smile on peoples faces. I like seeing and hearing people smile. It makes me want to work harder in what I'm doing. Other times I enjoy the hot-blooded sort of characters. The ones that always seem to be bursting with energy no matter what they're doing. They're usually hard workers who like to show off their results as soon as possible. Real go-getters as they're called from time to time. I like them as well. This doesn't mean I can't play more down to earth or subtle like characters. Sometimes I like to play as the simple, straight-forward thinking character. The kind of person who isn't afraid of being blunt with others in order to get his/her point across. I also enjoy the intellectual kind of character. Brains are just as good as brawn so it's fun to be able to play the smart character from time to time. Just cause they're smart though doesn't mean I want to be as stiff as a board.... well most of the time. Sometimes the stiff is just what is needed to change the pace. Keep everyone on their toes. I still want to try out all sorts of different characters, but those are the ones I have some degree of experience in.
Let's see what else is there...... OH I suppose I should tell you what kinds of roleplays I like huh? Well I enjoy playing in school settings, especially ones that allow supernatural powers. I don't really know anyone who didn't want some sort of power when they were in school. Me personally, I've always wanted to be a speedster. Being able to zip from place to place. Man life would be so much easier if I could do that now hahaha. Let's see here what else do I like? I suppose on a broader spectrum I like fantasy settings. Kinda obvious I know, but I feel as though it had to be said. I have done a few series based roleplays such as Naruto and the like. So I guess I could say I like being in those kinds of roleplays. I actually really like roleplays similar to Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder. So I guess Dice based roleplays? Is that what they're called here? I'll have to go browsing later. I'm a bit of a romantic (self-proclaimed), so if any roleplays allow romance you can bet you cutie patootie I'd want to play in those as well. I don't do anything too bold mind you. More like typical first love sort of stuff. You know like blushing, averting eyes to avoid eye contact, stuttering from time to time, fumbling simple every day tasks. So I guess in a way anime love stuff. Though if I'm being honest I've actually done this sort of thing around my crushes so I guess for me it's real life stuff too lol.
So what are my goals here? Well I need to expand my horizons on what kinds of roleplays I play. I wanna try my hand at something sci-fi or futuristic. Oh or maybe steampunk. Anything to do with technology having a huge influence on the world would be good honestly. You can only cast a spell or magi-tech your way in and out of stuff so often before you start to wonder what if there was another way ya know? I don't really have a whole lot of variety in the kinds of roleplays I participate in so sorry for the short list. But if you've got one for me I'd love to look into it and see if I'd be willing to join! Anywhere to get me started and my foot in the door sorta deal.
So by now you can tell I can type up a storm when given enough time. So if you have a roleplay that requires a certain post length threshold I think I can manage within a few margins. I do have trouble writing in detail from time to time though. So things like how my character is feeling or reacting to certain things or events. What's going through my characters head using italics to separate thoughts. Or just creating a scene that gives my character some backdrop (or background... I don't know which one works here honestly) to work with to give the post more depth and allow other characters to interact with from time to time. I'm getting better at it though. So It shouldn't be too long before I'm up to where I want to be. I don't like doing 1 on 1 roleplays though so please don't ask me to do so unless it's like a test of my ability to roleplay so I can begin posting in a much larger one. I feel uncomfortable being in 1 on 1 roleplays for personal reasons. I hope you understand. Any who pleasure to meet you again. Hope we can be friends and I hope to see you out there on the forums! For getting through that small spiel, here's a Whimsicott by JellyEnvy on DeviantArt! Isn't it adorable?
