Normal Personality: Sayaka is an extremely sweet and caring girl with very high energy and drive. She has an unhealthy inability to be selfish, and as such usually gets herself into harm or trouble due to putting everyone before herself. She is often the mediator between conflicts and tries her best to settle them peacefully. She as well is very intelligent and can easily read others due to her highly social and extroverted tendencies.

Hinamizawa Syndrome Personality: When stressed, Sayaka quickly loses control of her emotions and feelings due to being highly unstable. While usually capable of hiding this side of her, certain circumstances and situations will rapidly devolve into emotional fits and can possibly become violent. In this state of mind, Sayaka is quite literally the opposite of her real personality. In this mood, she is extremely cruel and bitter, wholly selfish, and highly manipulative. She will attempt to manipulate her target into self harm, harming others, or even as extreme as suicide. Due to her high intellect and extroverted tendencies, she generally knows exactly the right buttons to push to get a reaction.

Backstory: Sayaka was born in Akiba and spent most of her life there. When she turned 12 years old, her parents were brutally murdered and horribly dismembered, with their bodies discarded haphazardly around the house. When authorities arrived, young Sayaka was sitting cradling her mother's head and murmuring to herself while covered in blood. Police were unable to ever find the culprit and were baffled at why the young girl was allowed to live through the carnage. Sayaka passed all of her mental evaluations with ease, and was given a large inheritance from her parents with which to care for herself. Prompted by this tragedy and an inability to fit in with society anymore, she packed up and traveled to Hinamizawa at 14. Ever since then, Sayaka has been a healthy and happy young girl who acts as a mentor and friend to everyone at class and is a well known reliable helper around the community. She currently works at a small Coffee Shop for fun after school hours, and attends a few after school activities and clubs in her spare time.

Secrets: She knows a lot more about her parents death than she lets off. There was a period of time between 12-14 years old that she was missing from the known world and doing unknown activities.

Hobbies: Sayaka enjoys chatting with people, helping others, nature, and freinds. She as well is extremely fond of reading and writing and loves teaching the younger children as a teacher's aid. She is very skilled at cooking and baking, which makes her very popular at the shop she works at and at school.

Masumi's arsenal is an odd one, or rather, very inconspicuous. He has three known weapons -

• A corkscrew. At first glance, a regular old corkscrew, but it can be used to stab someone in the head too.

• Sledgehammer

• Bag o' Glass - Because what's scarier than having a plastic bag filled with broken glass rubbed on your body? I dunno, he uses this for torture and it's effective.

Normal Personality:

Masumi is normally a sweet boy, one who doesn't normally speak much unless he feels it's important, and a quiet sort of artist. He lives in his own little imaginative bubble most of the time, expressing interest in other worlds, and when you mention fantasy to him, he will immediately geek out and tell you all about the worlds he's created. He's a brilliant artist, and he uses this skill to draw out maps of these worlds, not to mention characters of his own creation. However, Masumi is also a very cynical person; he easily loses hope and has extreme doubts about real life ever going well, which tends to lead to the poor boy getting extremely worked up. He is rarely seen smiling, but it is very easy to make Masumi cry. He's a very sensitive soul. Masumi is very shy towards anyone he may be in love with. He speaks even less to this person than he does to others and comes off as cold, but really he just doesn't know what to say.

Masumi is seen as independent, often spending more time alone than with others. He doesn't allow many people to see his kind side, often shutting a vast majority of them out, but he is extremely observant, often watching other kids carefully as they play with each other, makng sure that none will fall over or something.

Hinamizawa Syndrome Personality:

When under the influence of Hinamizawa Syndrome (if it gets worse), Masumi becomes increasingly more neurotic, like many people do. He usually starts out by completely flipping out, but someone can definitely tell something wrong is occurring when he starts screaming, shouting, and generally lashing out. He starts committing murder under the name of Oyashiro-sama after a while, and becomes a laughing mess. The name "Oyashiro-sama" especially triggers Masumi.

Another thing that triggers Masumi is mistreatment of his little sister, Yuka. He will especially go after people who hurt her when the Syndrome is at this level and isn't afraid to hurt them twice as much. Masumi is a force to be reckoned with in this stage.

Backstory:

Masumi grew up surrounded by knowledge, having been born the eldest of the owner of a book store. He loved the information stored in the pages of the books, and his mother, with her soft and sweet voice, would read him the stories of Tom Sawyer, of Scout and Jem and Boo Radly, and he lived in their worlds as much as they did. He wasn't one to talk to others, save for his sister, Yuka, who was just three years younger than him. Many of the kids in the village considered him an odd child since he never really had any friends, but they noticed that everyday, Masumi would watch them playing and take notes.

Nothing actually happened to his family until two years prior to now, when Masumi's mother was found dead. Masumi didn't know it at the time, but his own father had killed their mother under the influence of Hinamizawa Syndrome (L3). However, the rest of the year, his father acted stranger and stranger by the hour, jumping at his own shadow, lashing out at his kids, and drinking more. Eventually, Masumi became tired of the abuse; the following year during Watanagashi, he stabbed his father in the stomach. He managed to act as though nothing happened, reverting from L3 to L2 after confessing what he did to the local police and receiving therapy at the Irie Clinic. He still gets therapy to this day.

Normal Personality:

Madoka is incredibly bubbly, he's optimistic as he always sees the brights side to everything and everybody. He's talkative, he always talking about thing he did or likes and bring others into his conversations, he's also a good listener. He has a weird but light hearted sense of humor that makes people laugh due to the absurdity of his jokes and pranks. He's excitable, as he's always getting excited over meeting new people or learning something new, this excitability makes him easy to like.

Madoka also has a competitive streak a mile wide, he's always making bets and doing dares for both his amusement and to prove a point. He is overly organized, he makes sure everything is where it should be to the point of impracticality, and he keeps tracks of everything and everyone. He's a surprisingly good liar, he can keep his cool under stress and lie on the spot without a pause. He also has a bad habit of balancing his personal life and duty, sometimes he focuses on over the other, or acting one way when he should be acting the other.

Hinamizawa Syndrome Personality:

Due to being a member of the Furude House, Madoka has a resistance to the Hinamizawa syndrome, it would take six times the normal stress for his symptoms to start cropping up compared to the average villager. And lucky for Madoka he is one of very few people who's Level of symptoms can decrease naturally without the use of medicine.

But once the higher level symptoms start to show up, beware, he is as dangerous as anybody with a high level Hinamizawa Syndrome. Unlike most Level 4's or 5's he's extremely quiet, internalizing all his feelings and insanity, he only make sounds when he's hurt, exhausted, or is forced to talk. But once he talk he is as loud and bombastic as any other and he is incredibly aggressive oddly enough he doesn't scratched himself or has any suicidal tendency, he is entirely murderous, this may be due to his Heritage.

Backstory:

Madoka was born to the High Priestess of Hinamizawa, Rika Furude, and an unknown father. Madoka wasn't infected with the queen parasite, due to mother being against the idea of infecting her son with the parasite that caused her so much misery and repeated pain, he was born with an incredibly strong resistance to the Hinamizawa Syndrome due to potential of holding the queen within himself, it's been theorized that he's one of the few villagers that can leave the village without the Syndrome triggering at least many more years than most of the villagers.

Rika got help raising Madoka by her best friend and "Life Partner" Satoko Hojo. Madoka considers Satoko his second mother, even though he had to call her by name instead of more preferred terms in public, since Hinamizawa is still a small village, and while nobody openly objected to the nontraditional family, but Satoko got nasty glares whenever Madoka called her mother so he stopped calling her that in public, even at a young age he understood a public persona. When Madoka was a child Rika told the boy the truth of their god, Oyashiro-Sama, that he wasn't really a he, but was instead the protector of the village and of the Furude family, Madoka believed his mother's story over the text that he was taught.

From a young Madoka aspired to be a Priest for the Temple and take care of the shrine, he helped when he was young up until today. Madoka took his heritage seriously and wanted nothing more than to keep the shrine running and help people understand the real Oyashiro-Sama, but he knew he had to be careful how he talked about her, since many of the villagers has deep seated beliefs of the goddess that will take years to change, but he's more than willing to play the long game, the only long game he hopes to play.

When Madoka started School he was a very social student and was well loved and the life of the class. He made sure to talk to every student and made sure they were involved and interacted with, since he doesn't want anybody to be lonely on his watch. Suddenly on Madoka's eighteenth birthday, his mother sat him down and told him something he never expected to hear from his mother, she's dying. The reason why is that the Queen Parasite has started to eat away at her insides and the only way for her to live is that Madoka must be injected with the Queen parasite. Rika had to explain to Madoka the Hinamizawa syndrome and the terrorist attack on Hinamizawa thirty or so years ago. To say Madoka was taken aback by all this would be an understatement but he took it in strides and he decided to get the queen parasite injected within himself after he finish his last year of school.

Currently he troubled by the truth of the village but he's been hiding it well from everybody else, even his mother Satoko, who's completely in the dark on the subject. With only a few weeks away from his last days of school it would look like he'd be the new host of the Queen Parasite.
