Fandom Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (When They Cry) Roleplay? (CLOSED)

Synopsis

(Before I get into the plot, I should probably let you know I may screw some facts up about the show and if I do, I apologize (Higurashi is a confusing ass show, in a good way :3).)

This roleplay will take place in the fictional location, Hinamizawa. A rural village with the population of about two thousand. It's an unusually peaceful town, citizens seem normal, breezes flow gently throughout the land however there is a much more harrowing story going on off stage. Like a flower covering the serpent's malice, a multitude of haunting stories hide within the town's desolate borders. Tales of blood, death and the descent to insanity. There is no true explanation for this phenomenon, most of these stories even have elements of the supernatural buried beneath them. However that is not even the oddest thing going on, like a decrypt clock (or a Dell computer), time just refreshes and proceeds at a different pace and fashion. It was as if this place was not even earth bound.





Our time segment begins two days before the Watanagashi Festival. A holiday meant to commemorate and worship the gods above. However, the gods have all but remained at the sides of our characters. Slowly the atmosphere plummets to insanity, people die, blood sinks to the grown and once it is all over, it repeats. The time returns to two days before the festival, sometimes with different people, but with a different progression and cause of distress.

What I am Looking for

​

Character wise, I am looking for about five people to play Original Characters (OC's). Characters can range from highschool students to even tourists, I'll leave that up to you. However it is easiest if you have some connection to everyone else's characters. Not all characters will be crazy, some will be innocents absorbed into the conflict through natural means. Each loop there will be a new theme and plot (An originally innocent character may also become to insane one). Maybe one time it is a cult killing for their god, while other times it could be two young adults driven to the path of insanity. This will all be decided before the roleplay.


What I am looking from you is:

• You can handle gore.
  
• You are mature and roleplay mental illness' seriously and don't resort to stigma's.
  
• You're able to write more than 3 lines consistently. No one liners plox.
  
• You commit to discussion, I do take in ideas and this is cooperative a lot of the times.
  
• You are super sweet.
  
• You are atleast somewhat familiar with the concept materiel (if you've never watched it, reading the wikipedia page should be suffice.)

Hello everyone I am Black Masquerade, but you may call me Overly or Black ^.^~! I am a huge anime fan and have been the GM of about six different roleplays. Things I value in a roleplay is a strong OOC section, consistent activity and a mature and positive attitude towards the roleplay. I think I'll leave that part out, so that our endings are a little more open. Though we'll see how things progress, it might be a good idea to limit ourselves to that.

I could pick up either gender spot, but a female or neutral gendered character would be swell!

Yeah, I'll make the roleplay Tuesday no matter the amount of people, granted I am not busy for some reason.


And yes romance is okay, but don't make it the prime focus.

So how close to canon will this be tied? is it simply a similar situation, or will the town and legends be the same and all that?


Would it take place long after the events of Higurashi, or at the same time?

Sorry it took me so long to get to this.


There might be a similar situation, but I won't be copying anything. But the town and legends are all the same, just different scenarios and characters. It will take place in a different dimension I guess you could call it. But the times and dates are the same, but the events have nothing to do with the original Higurashi.

Yes, that's what it is. Certainly you can make references to it, but to the character's knowledges; the original event of Higurashi never happened.


There will be NPC's, though they'll probably be OC's too.


Don't worry, ask as many questions as you want.
